It is the last day of the semifinal round, and the winner of the game will be advancing to the finals. "Yes coach!", the players agreed as the buzzer beeps as a sign of the end of the technical timeout. The players are about to re-enter the court when the coach called Miguel. He's Jan Miguel Veneracion, a freshman at the Lireo de Ville University and a rookie setter of the team. "Migs, if the pass is good, set the ball to Michael.", the coach told Miguel. Michael Angelo Rey is also a first year player and one of the best players of the team. Miguel's a bit hesitant to set the ball to him for Michael was a bit arrogant and has a (not so good) attitude. But Michael's the best player of the team and the coach instructed Miguel to set the ball to him. "Yes coach", Miguel replied and went back to the court. The tension is at its peak. Both team's got 1 set a piece, and it's already the final set with a score of 24 against 21, in favor of Miguel's team. The opponent served, Miguel's teammate got the first touch and it was a good pass as what the coach requested. Miguel thought for a moment, before setting the ball, to his other teammate, not following his coach's order to set the ball. The hit was defended by the opponent's libero, and the opponent was preparing an attack. Michael looked pissed, for the ball was not set to him, and he's getting ready to block. He simply gave Miguel a dagger look, which Miguel ignored. The opponent's spiker hit the ball, which was deflected by Michael's block. Now they have another chance to win the match. The ball was received by the libero, and Michael now called Miguel to set him the ball. Miguel jumped, not to set, but to drop the ball. Everyone was in shocked as the ball landed the opponent's court. Miguel's team won the match. His teammates run towards them as they celebrate their win, and they will now be advancing to the Championship match. Everyone was happy, but not Michael. "Nice drop, Miggy!", everyone told Miguel. "Nice one! Finals bound!", they all cheered. After the match, and got ready to leave, some players went to the school service, and some went to their own cars. "Let's go and win the championship, my Best Setter.", someone told Miguel from behind. Recognizing the owner of the voice, Miguel didn't mind and got into the car. "How was the game?", Janus asked. He is Janus Miguel Veneracion, Miguel's older brother. He's 24 and a senior marketing manager at his family's company. He's a very loving brother to Miguel and a protector of his younger brother. “We won, actually.” Miguel replied but with a monotonous voice. “Really huh? So why do you look like that?” Janus asked his brother. “Don’t mind me, I’m just tired from the game.” Miguel replied. He looked at his phone and messaged someone. He immediately smiled after he received a reply from that person. “And why are you smiling? Who’s the reason behind that smile?” his brother asked. “You know who.” he replied. Miguel is actually dating a guy and his brother knew about it. Unsurprised, Janus is actually curious about them because they’re actually not “the usual couples” that you can see around. “Why don’t you invite him for dinner? You know, to celebrate your win.” Janus suggested, which Miguel instantly opposed. “Nah, I don’t think so. Do you want mom and dad to know that both of their sons are gay? That they will never have grandchildren? Hahaha!” Miguel replied. Their parents actually know Janus’ gender identity, but not Miguel’s. Their parents have no problem about Janus being not straight. But Miguel’s afraid of what their parents might think if they will know that he is also like his brother. “If you insist haha. By the way, I may not be able to drop you to school tomorrow. My boyfriend and I will be out of town for three days. We’ll be in Georgetown for a meeting.” Janus told him, as they already arrived home. They were greeted by their mom, Rhea. “There you are! Welcome home! How’s my baby boy!” Rhea hugged his son. Miguel rolled his eyes. “Mom, stop treating me like a kid.” he answered while shaking his head. “I know that! And I can’t wait for you to finally introduce that lucky girl to us. When are you gonna do that, Miggy?” Rhea told him which he answered by shaking his head. Rhea laughed at him and went inside, she asked their maid to make something to eat for her sons. The siblings just looked at each other and simply smiled. Their mother doesn’t know that the person she’s actually talking about is a ‘he’, not a ‘she’. “Be ready to introduce HER to mommy and daddy sooner. Good luck, Miggy.” Janus tease him and went inside. Miguel just laughed at the idea and went up to his room. Though he already took a shower in the school’s shower area, he still takes another bath. While drying up his hair in his room, his phone suddenly rang. He immediately smiled while looking at the name of the caller. “Hi there, sweetie.” The man speaks to the phone. “Hi, are you already home? I just finished taking a bath.” Miguel replied. “Yes, I also just finished taking a bath. By the way, do you wanna come over? Mom’s preparing something for dinner. You know, just to celebrate.” the guy asked him. The truth is, if he will come over, that’s gonna be the first time that Miguel will meet his lover’s parents. And he thought that he’s might not ready yet to do that. “Actually, my mom will prepare something too. Sorry but I can’t go there today.” Miguel told him. “That’s totally fine.” The guy replied. “I also want to know if you’re free this weekend, if it is possible for you to go with me.” “I think I don’t have any plans on weekend, so yeah, I’ll be there.” Miguel happily said. “Where are we going, by the way?” “We’re having a date.”
