Miguel woke up as the sunlight shone from the window of his room. He thought that maybe he just forgot to close it last night. He got up and fixed his bed. It's 7:30 am, Friday morning. He lazily get up from bed and took a glance in his room and try to remember how he got there last night. There he heard some knocks on the door.
“Oh you’re awake now. I was about to check if you’re okay because I know you’ll have a hangover.” Janus told his brother. “I already cooked some food downstairs. I’ll just be on my room if you need anything.”
“Thank you Kuya.” Miguel told him, and his brother closed the door. Miguel went to the comfort room to do his morning routines. He also prepared his stuff that he will bring to school. Luckily, his classes will start in the afternoon and not that early.
Time passed by and he’s now at the university. The people he passed by are congratulating him for their win and for his awards. He’s really grateful for all of their supporters and friends.
He was a few meters away from their classroom when someone called him.
“Miggy!” Ruby called him. She ran over and hugged him. “Oh - My - God! You were so amazing yesterday. I even lost my voice screaming and cheering for you guys.”
“Thank you very much, I hope we made you proud.” Miguel humbly said.
“Of course! You’re our Best Setter and Finals MVP! I’m sure everyone is proud of you!” Ruby told him. Miguel smiled and they both went to the classroom. To his surprise, Michael is not yet inside the classroom. Miguel thought he was just late but Michael didn’t come to school. He tried to call him and luckily he answered. He’s just at home and got a bad hangover so he decided not to go to school either, also he woke up late so he really just stayed at home. Miguel decided to visit him at home.
He just decided to go to their favorite cafe first and walk since it is pretty much close enough from the school. He wants to buy Michael’s favorite cheesecake to give to him. He was using his phone and checking his social media accounts when he noticed something.
He noticed someone on a black hoodie and face mask following him. He pretended that he didn’t notice him or something. He just continued walking towards the cafe and didn’t look back. Luckily, the cafe is not just too far from the school and he reached the cafe immediately. Once inside the cafe, he then looked outside. The man in the hoodie was gone already. He thought that maybe he’s again overreacting and he thought that the presence of that man was just in his imagination.
He just shrugged everything off and proceeded to the counter.
“Miss, can I have a whole basque burnt cheesecake. For takeout po.” Miguel told the staff. He also ordered Michael’s favorite drink. After paying for the food and receiving it, he now booked a taxi going to Michael’s house, afraid that the guy in the hoodie would show up again. Not too long, the taxi came and they went to Michael’s house.
Miguel had already rang the doorbell when he realized that he never actually met Michael’s parents before. He immediately felt nervous. A few seconds later, a woman opened the gate.
“Umm.. hi po. Is Michael here?” Miguel politely said.
“Yes, he’s in his room and actually not feeling well. The woman said. Miguel looked at him and recognized her. She’s Michael’s mom. Michael always shows him a picture of his family when they’re talking about making their relationship open to their parents.
“I’m Mi-“ before Miguel can speak, Michael’s mom hugged him.
“Miguel, it’s so nice to finally meet you.” Michael’s mom said.
“You know me po?” Miguel asked.
“Yes! Michael talked a lot about you. He always proudly shares pictures of you two every time we are having conversations.” Let’s go inside. Michael’s mom told Miguel and they went inside.
“What’s your relationship with Michael? Why are you there?” a guy hiding in a post said, looking at Miguel as he went inside Michael’s house.
“Have a seat.” Michael’s mom told Miguel. They are in the living room. “Are those for Michael?”
“Yes po.” Miguel handled her the food he had bought. She messaged Michael to go down to the living room.
“Ohh I haven’t introduced myself to you. You can call me Tita Eli.” Miguel smiled at her. He glanced at the living room. It is so tidy and clean. There are pictures on the shelf afar but he can’t see clearly who is in the pictures.
“It’s so unfortunate. I would’ve introduced you to my fiancé and his son but they’re not here. I’m sure you’ll get along with Jan as well, I believe the three of you are of the same age.” Michael’s mom said.
“So Jan is the name of Michael’s soon to be Jan.” Miguel told himself. He wondered what Mikko looked like. But that feeling of ‘familiarity’ with the name Mikko kinda snapped him.
“My son’s not answering his phone. Why don’t you go upstairs and take these to him?” Michael’s mom told him, which he agreed to. He went upstairs going to Michael’s room. He knocked three times but no one answered. He tried to open the door and luckily it wasn’t locked.
He slightly opened the door and l looked inside the room. He was shocked by what he saw. Michael is lying on the bed wearing only boxer shorts. He always saw Michael shirtless in the training sometimes but never in his own room while sleeping.
He shook his head thinking too many things. He just laughed softly to himself. He put the cake and drink to Michael’s study table and sat beside him. He looked at Michael who was sleeping.
“Who would’ve thought that behind that serious face you have most of the time and a monster player inside the court would have an angelic face when sleeping?” Miguel softly said while touching his face. He softly glided his finger from Michael’s forehead, to his nose, to his lips, and to his chin, where he stopped. He was about to pull away his finger when Michael held his hand and guided it to continue caressing his body. Miguel’s body was shaking as he felt his hand touch Michael’s chest, down to his abs.
“Michael..” he softly said as Michael guided his hand to continue to go down.
