Moonlit Encounter
Lily's fingers danced across the piano keys, the melody flowing from her heart to the night air. She played for herself, under the moonlight, where she felt most alive. The music was her solace, her sanctuary. As she finished her piece, a rustling in the bushes caught her attention. She turned to see a figure emerging from the shadows—a tall, handsome stranger with piercing eyes. Lily's heart skipped a beat as their gazes met. The stranger's eyes seemed to bore into her soul, and Lily felt a shiver run down her spine. Yet, she couldn't look away. He was imposing, confident, and radiated an aura of power. "Who are you?" Lily asked, her voice barely above a whisper. The stranger's expression remained serious, his eyes never leaving hers. "Keal," he replied, his voice low and smooth. Lily felt an inexplicable connection to Keal, as if the music had drawn him to her. They stood there, the only sound being the distant chirping of crickets. Keal's gaze lingered on Lily, his eyes taking in every detail. She felt like a specimen under a microscope, vulnerable and exposed. "You're a musician?" Keal asked, his voice filled with curiosity. Lily nodded, her hands still resting on the piano keys. "Yes, I play for myself, mostly." Keal's expression didn't change, but his eyes seemed to gleam with interest. "I've never heard anyone play like that before," he said, his voice low and intense. Lily felt a flutter in her chest, unsure how to respond. Keal's presence was overwhelming, making her feel small and insignificant. As the moon climbed higher, Keal took a step closer to Lily. She felt his proximity, her senses heightened. He was too close, too intense. "Do you play for others?" Keal asked, his voice still low and serious. Lily shook her head, feeling a sense of trepidation. "No, just for myself." Keal's gaze lingered on her, and Lily felt like he saw right through her. She didn't know what to make of him, but she couldn't deny the connection between them. The silence between them grew thicker, until Keal finally spoke. "I'll be watching you, Lily," he said, his voice dripping with intensity. Lily's heart raced as Keal turned and disappeared into the night. She was left standing alone, wondering what had just happened. As she turned to leave, she noticed a small piece of paper on the ground. She picked it up, and her eyes widened as she read the message: "Meet me at the old oak tree at midnight. Come alone." Lily's heart skipped a beat as she realized the message was unsigned. But she knew, deep down, that it was from Keal.
