Ethan A long hectic day at work was enough for me to actually get some sleep. So no clubbing tonight? Of course, There was no clubbing tonight. Julio saw me talking to myself and I noticed how amused he was. Like he didn't have that pal in his head. We arrived at my house and I instantly swivel my head to Elle's house. Someone just entered as I heard the door click. "Thanks for the ride, Julio," I said and got out of the vehicle. My legs buckled as my weight shifted back to them. I didn't know what I needed more, Sleep or food. Probably both. I sluggishly advanced to the driver seat and stuck out the cash I had on me at Julio's face. He took the money, reached into his pocket to get my change but I was too tired to wait. "Keep the change." I sighed and headed for the door. I had dropped my bag in the hallway earlier this morning, Having no time to actually inspect the renovation. The living room was dimly lit, Thick white curtains hid the long windows across the walls, leaving just a shy peek at Elle's house. The room was uncomfortably large. It reminded me of a hotel foyer, I wanted it to be more homely since I would be staying there. I scan the room for a personal touch, something I actually wanted, something that didn't suggest the hired designer did as he wished. The room was blank, to be frank. Everything was white. The walls, The blinds, The chairs. Whoever did this was a sucker for purity. I mean, It was beautiful but cold for tranquility. I unbuttoned my shirt, feeling an instant cool on my sweaty skin. It was decided I needed a bath. I traced the bathroom all the way upstairs and used the opportunity to do some packing in. The bedroom was adjacent to the bathroom so I made a quick stop there. It was small but felt welcoming. I dumped my baggage on the only luxurious thing in the room, my bed then I departed for the bathroom. I ran my head on the dial and strings of cold water rained down. I stripped down to nothing but my skin and climbed into the tub. Just as the water got to my skin, mother nature working out her healing. I heard a scream. It sounded dire. The urge to find out where it was coming from made me peer out the small window to Elle's house. That was where the scream came from. I cut the water to understand what was happening. The scream came again and I could tell it was from the bathroom. Our houses were almost reflections so it was easy to get. This time I heard a struggle and a loud splash. Something was definitely going on. Was Elle in danger? I didn't even give myself the time to ponder on my question before I raced downstairs completely naked. After a second thought, I raced back upstairs to wear something. I picked a black shirt and some shorts of some sort, Not minding if they even matched. Something in me sparked, It always did when someone was in danger. As a medical practitioner, It was my job to save lives in every way I could. In this case, I wasn't so sure It was my oath to save lives. I raced out, past the yard and into Elle's house. I banged the door hard, trying to get her attention or whoever was in the house. "Elle! Are you alright?" There was no reply. My noise was beginning to attract other neighbors and Elle's silence made me do the unthinkable. I lunged at the door. The weight of my body seemed to be an equal opponent as the door swung open immediately. The house was silent, dead silent. Neighbors had crowded in from of the house to understand what was happening. I raced upstairs tracing the bathroom where I was sure I heard her scream. "Elle!" I wailed, seeing her drowning in her own tub. I pulled her out of the tub and placed her securely on the wet floor. Her head was bleeding and she was pale, pale and naked. "Call 911!" I screamed downstairs if anyone cared to listen. There was no time. I had to resuscitate her. I tilted her head to the side, allowing any water she might have inhaled drain out. God, It must have been a battle to live. She had taken a lot. When I was sure the water was out, I turned her head back to the center. I then pinched her nose and performed mouth to mouth. It definitely would have been rememberable if her life wasn't threatened. Despite being 'work serious' I couldn't help but agree she tasted like strawberries. I wanted more. I dived in for a second, checking if she was breathing as our tongues touched. She was getting warm. Definitely a fighter. Blaring siren drowned the noise outside and soon enough. She was safe. *** Elle Angels did exist. I could only make out it's blurred shape. His lips on mine and then the blinding light. I was separated from him before I could even thank him.  As a pair of strong hands pulled me back into the blinding light of the ambulance I still didn't leave.  There was still strength I left so I stretched my hands to his and weakly muttered, "Thank you." Before I could hear his voice, I was channeled onto a stretcher and into the ambulance. The van stank slightly like sulfur and chemicals. It numbed my nose and choked me, reminding me how much I hated hospitals and the horror was I wasn't even in one.  I clutched onto the crisp white sheet that was used to wrap me. The chills O was beginning to get used to disappeared and I embraced the warmth. The drips and beds rattled as the van took off to the hospital. A paramedic came to me, brushed my hair and said, "You'll be alright."Before placing a mask over to my face. I was breathing just fine and didn't see the need for oxygen. I was going to protest but I began to feel weaker than I was minutes ago. My eyes spin and the room darkened. It then dawned to me that it wasn't oxygen. They were trying to put me to sleep. I... *** I lay there quietly, keeping my eyes closed, matching my breaths to the beeping of the machines that surrounded the bed, the only indications of my existence. I was numb all over. Curiosity slowly pried open my tired eyes to meet a dismal view of a magnolia colored hospital room, the door a navy blue. It opened as of on cue and the attending nurse informed me I had a visitor. Name I didn't quite hear, but I was sure it was Ethan. He saved my life after all. The door creaked and Alex came in. The pretty blonde boy who carried nothing but sheer brute masculinity and an ego to match. As his chestnut orbs rested on me, I felt the need to throw up. What was he doing here? "Calm down." He pleaded, seeing how uncomfortable I was. "Stay where you are or I'll scream," I promised. "Ok." He sighed and took a seat on a chair made available while keeping his distance. "What do you want?" I demanded. I was sure he was here to mock me. I wasn't in for his cruel games. "To apologize." He breathed. I snickered. He would never change. I couldn't believe he came all this way to mock me. "I don't need your mock pity." "It's not mock pity. You could have died... and it would have been my fault. I can't live with that." The way he said it, I could tell he was being serious. He was literally shaking. "What do you mean?" I inquired, sitting up. "You had the accident in the bathroom right?" "Yes. Why?" "Did you see the snake?" The pain in my head resurfaced and I immediately got the full picture of what was happening. Alex planted the snake!
