The First Days Pt. 1

Mina POV

After getting back to the pack house. Jace and Dylan took my dad and other guys to a conference room so they could call Toby. “Well, that was exciting,” I hear Devon say. “Don’t you need to go with them?” I ask. “No, I need to show my lovely mate and lovely Luna around the pack house,” he says. “OK. Well, where should we start?” Cara asks as Devon pulls her into his side. “How about you show us where we are staying and you can show us stuff on the way,” I suggest. Gem, Stella, Stacey, and Ember come up beside us. Gem grabs me in a side hug and says, “This is so great! There is so much to show you. OK, let’s go up to the rooms,” “Yes, and then we can look at how many rooms you have so we can house some of the dragons coming to start construction,” I respond. “OK, follow me,” Devon says. He leads us through the house and tells what each area is that we pass, “This is the main living area, we mainly use it to hang out with others. Some informal pack meets happen here if we don’t have to have everyone in attendance. The kitchen and dinning area are through that door on the right. We are going to up these stairs to the Alpha floor fist and then make our way back down. The Alpha and you live on the fourth floor. Cara and I as well as Mark and his mate Trisha.” He says. I am looking around as we walk. I notice that people are staring at me, but I am getting a particularly nasty glare from one girl in the corner. She is not even trying to be subtle about it. I just roll my eyes, ‘Great. Another wannabe, man stealer that is going to get her a** kicked because she can’t wait for her own mate,’ Sapphire growls out. I look at her dead in the eye and smile. She looks taken a back and I keep following Devon. “Who are Mark and Trisha,” I ask. “Oh, Mark is Jace’s Delta and Trisha is s mate. They stayed here so the pack could be taken care of while Jace and I were gone. We will find them after the tour and introduce you,” he says and we head up the stairs to the fourth floor. Once there, I see a few doors. Devon leads us to the last door and opens it. He gestures for me to go in. I enter the room and am awestruck by the beauty. It was large with a separate sitting room with a TV. The bed was enormous with a dark blue comforter. The walls were a warm grey tone. There were two doors to the right of the sitting room. I went through one door and was greeted by a spa like bathroom with the most amazing shower I had ever seen. I eave and open the other door, it the closet. The closet was large enough to be another room. I noticed that one side of the closet was completely empty. “Jace never used this side of the closet. He always kept it empty for when he found his mate. He will want you to fill it as soon as possible,” Devon says. Gem chimes in, “Yeah, I’ve seen him standing in here just staring at the empty side before. I think he was longing for you.” “He’s a sweet guy,” I say. “Only for you and his family,” Devon says. He leads us out and he shows us a couple of guest rooms on this floor the dad and Callan will stay in while we are here. I also see his office.

We head down to the third floor to see it split into two identical floor plans. Devon says that him and Cara will be on the right and Mark and his mate are on the left. They each have offices in the middle that connect. There are several guest rooms on this floor as well. Ember asks, "Can some of the contractors stay here? They will be the first to arrive." "I don't see why not. I will talk with Jace and Mark about it," Devon responds. We head down to the second floor. This floor has a bunch of rooms. I guess some unmated pack members stay here but they are mainly for guests. It looks like that many of the dragons could stay here while construction is going on. I’ll talk to Jace some more about it. We get back to the first floor and Devon shows us some more TV rooms and a recreational room. “The pack warriors that are unmated live in the barracks, and then most of the married pack members have their own houses around the territory. Out back we have the training grounds and gym as well. Well, that concludes the tour. What do you think,” Devon says. “I think this place is amazing,” I say.

We head back to the main living room just as the guys are getting out of the conference room. Dylan looks a little pale. Ember runs up to him, “What happened?” He just looks at her. MJ laughs, “Your dad is what happened. He’s on his way just to meet Dylan.” “Well, that’s silly. Did he say anything about meeting Stacey? I mean he can’t come to intimidate Dylan and not do the same to Stacey, no offense Stacey. But, women can hurt men just as much as a man can hurt a woman,” I retort. All of the guys are looking at me like I have horns and the girls have pride in their eyes. My dad walks up to me and kisses my head, “You are right princess. It’s just in our nature to be protective of our little girls. I will make sure that Toby doesn’t give Dylan to hard of a time.” Dad turns to Jace, “I still need to speak with you at some point about you being with my daughter. I want to make sure she is treated like the princess she is, and MJ, you had better treat Gem like a queen, and not just because she is going to be one.” Gem laughs and all of the guys have shock in their eyes.

We are brought out of shocked silence by someone walking up and saying that dinner is ready. Jace grabs hold of me and leads us to the dinning room. We walk in and everyone stops talking and stares at us. Jace leads me to the head of the table where he pulls out a chair and helps me to sit. He takes the seat next to me. Devon and Cara take the seats to my right. The others take seat through out the table. A man with blonde hair and blue eyes leans across the table to shake my hand, “Hello Luna, I am Mark. This is my mate, Trisha.” I shake his hand, “It’s nice to meet you. I’ve heard a little about you but not much yet.” Trisha smiles, “It’s so nice to have you and Cara here. I bet we are going to be great friends.” The food is brought out and I fill my plate. Conversations are going on around the tables. The pack members are asking the dragons about themselves. I keep feeling like I am being watched though. I look around and notice that the same girl from before is glaring daggers at me again. “Jace, who is that girl that is glaring at me,” I ask pointing her out. Jace looks over and frowns, “That is Kelly. I wanted to talk to you about some stuff before we got to this point. I hope that you are not mad.” He takes a deep breath and in one very rushed sentence he says, “I have been with a couple of girls before you. I only ever slept with women outside of the pack because I did not want anyone to get the wrong idea. The only exception to that was Kelly. She was a drunken mistake one time and she has been trying to get back with me ever since.” His voice was getting quieter as he continued. He looked like I was about to scold him. He was so cute. I smiled at him, “Jace, I wasn’t expecting you to be a virgin. You are 24 after all. Besides, since many of the dragons haven’t been finding their mates, it has become common for them to have s*x before marriage or finding their mates. I’m not worried or upset with you, as long as it is only me from here on out.” Jace looks visibly relieved. He takes my hand and kisses the back, “You are truly amazing. It will be only you. No one else compares.”

Dinner passes without incident, just angry glares from Kelly. We all head into the main living room. We are sitting down with other pack members and just talking. They are asking us questions about being dragons. Some of the warriors are asking about how we train and if we can train with them. Blade and Steele agree, “Mina, you and Cara should set up a training time to work on your skills to show the warriors.” Everyone’s eyes are on us, “Of course. That would be fun, we can train some tomorrow after we talk to the horde about who is coming out here to get started on construction,” I say with a smile. “OH COME ON!” I hear from the back. I turn to see none other than Kelly looking like she is about to blow a gasket. ‘What is with crazy she wolves wanting someone who is not their mate,’ I link Cara. She nods in agreement. “She can’t possibly be that good at fighting. She’s just a spoilt princess that has the Alpha under a spell. I bet they are not even mates,” Kelly basically screams. Jace is on his feet growling

Jace POV

The conference call went well. We head out to meet up with the girls and Devon. Mina surprises us all by saying that Toby is wrong for coming just to confront Dylan. Maximus says he agrees and turns to warn MJ about taking care of Gem after he warned me about treating Mina like a princess. ‘Of course, mate will be treated like a princess. She is our Luna. We have wanted her for six years, plus mate is sexy when she fights,’ Xavier says. I agree with him. One of the omegas come out to tell us that dinner is ready. We go into the dinning hall and I pull Mina’s seat out for her. Everyone is staring. I look around and see pride in most of the pack’s faces. My eyes land on Kelly, and she looks mad. Great. I sit and Mark introduces himself to Mina and Trisha says they are going to be good friends. I hope so. It is always best if the leaders all get along. We are all talking when Mina asks me who a girl is, I look and she is indicating Kelly. F**k! I very hurriedly tell her who she is and that I have had other s****l relations with other women. I am terrified of what she is going to say and think. I wanted to have this conversation somewhere else but my hand kind of got forced. I finish talking and look at her with fear. Xavier is whining, ‘I don’t want mate to reject us. Mate is perfect.’ Mina looks at me and smiles. She tells me that she is not worried about my past. Xavier perks up and yaps, ‘Mate is perfect and understanding. We could not have gotten better than mate.’ He is practically prancing in my head. I kiss her hand and promise her that it is only her from here on out.

Dinner is over and we head into the main living room. We are sitting and some pack warriors are talking about training. Steele says that Mina and Car should do some of the training. My interest is peaked. I know that Mina is strong. I saw her fight Anna. Suddenly, I hear, “OH COME ON!” Crap, it’s Kelly. Kelly continues screaming, “She can’t possibly be that good at fighting. She’s just a spoilt princess that has the Alpha under a spell. I bet they are not even mates.” I am on my feet and growling. “How dare you insult your Luna!” I yell. She doesn’t back down. ‘Let me out Jace. I will kill her. She is insulting mate.’ Xavier snarls. I am surprised when Mina stands up and calmly says, “I will be at the training grounds tomorrow morning at 7:00 if you would like to settle this then.” She takes my hand and leads me out of the living room. When we are out and almost to the stairs, I pull her into me and bury my face into her neck. I need her scent to calm myself and Xavier down. “I am so sorry sweetheart. You shouldn’t have to go through this.” I say. She sighs, “No, but it is not your fault. People are intimidated by dragons and women are jealous that we are mated.” I am astonished by her response. I hug her tightly, “You are amazing.” ‘Alpha, several dragons have flown over the border. They are heading towards the pack house.’ I get linked from my border patrol. ‘Thank you.’ I close the link. “I just got linked that some dragons have crossed the border and are headed this way,” I tell Mina. “Let’s tell the other and get outside. They got here really fast,” she says and runs back to the living room.

Many of the pack members wanted to see the other dragons coming in. So, we are all out waiting for them to come. I hear a loud roar and eight dragons come into view. They all land and shift. The man in front is tall and looks similar to Maximus and MJ. He must be Toby. The men behind him are around six feet tall but all look like the are body builders. They have broad chests and thick legs. Steele comes steps forward with Stacey and Ember drags Dylan forward. “Dad, this is Stacey, Stacey, this is my father, Toby, King Maximus’ cousin and third,” Steele says. Toby smiles broadly and pulls Stacey into a hug. In a deep baritone voice he says, “I am so happy that Steele has found his mate. Please treat him well. He is a good man, and if he mistreats you, let me know and I will kick his a**.” Stacey laughs but Steele pales a little. I chuckle. Mina leans into me and whispers, “Steele is very strong, only Toby, my dad, MJ, and Blade can take him in a fight.” I nod and watch Toby step towards Ember and Dylan. Dylan straightens ptola answer to me should you hurt her,” Toby says. Dylan nods, “I will treat her like a princess. She, after all, is my Luna.” Toby smiles seeming to be pleased with his response.

I step forward, “Welcome to the Black Diamond Pack. I am Alpha Jace. I am pleased to have you all here as we form our new alliance. Please come in and let’s get you all settled into rooms so we can discuss our next moves tomorrow.”

Maximus POV

We have eaten dinner and are just lounging in the living room. We are getting asked questions, but I don’t mind. They are just curious. I am seething when some she wolf comes in and claims that my daughter can’t be that strong because she is a spoilt princess and that she must have Jace under a spell. I watch Jace as he stands and confronts the she wolf. When she doesn’t stand down I am so proud of Mina when she simply states that she will be at the training grounds at 7:00 in the morning if she wants to settle it then. She takes Jace out of the room and the she wolf stomps off to, I don’t know where. The living room breaks into laughter. “What is so funny,” MJ asks. “That girl has tried to tell everyone here that she is going to be the chosen Luna and that we should respect her and do as she says. No one believed her. We all know that she was a drunken mistake by the Alpha,” says one girl. I am a little upset about this. ‘We should talk to Mina before acting,’ Bolt links. I agree.

A few minutes later Mina comes running in saying that Toby is here. Everyone stands and rushes out to the front yard. ‘I guess everyone wants to see another dragon fly in,’ MJ links. I hear Toby’s roar and see him and seven others fly in and land. ‘He brought Ralph and his sons. That’s good. They are the best,’ I link MJ. I watch Toby step forward and embrace Stacey. I link him before he talks to Dylan, ‘Ember will be upset at you if you threaten him and not Stacey,’ He nods at me. I watch the interaction and am proud of how he handled it. Jace then steps forward, introduces himself and welcomes everyone. ‘He is a good man’ Bolt says. I just nod. Jace leads our group into a smaller living area. As we sit down I say, “So, you were able to round up the best contractors we have on short notice.” They all laugh. Ralph stands up and steps towards Jace extending his hand, “I apologize Alpha Jace for not introducing myself. I am Ralph Bloodstone and these are my sons, Trevor, Chase, Kyle, Justin, Stefan, and Micha. We are the head contractors and will be assessing the land starting tomorrow. Please don’t be alarmed if you feel any tremors. They are normal and how we assess the land.”

Jace POV

We move into one of the smaller sitting rooms and one of the men steps towards me to shake my hand. He introduces himself and his sons in one of the deepest voices I have ever heard. Wow he has a lot of sons. He says not to be alarmed by tremors. “Wait, what?” I ask confused. Ralph looks at me a little weird and then Mina and the original group of dragons start laughing. “What did I say,” I ask. “Nothing love. We just haven’t gotten around to talking with you about what you are going to see once the dragons start showing up. I guess now is as good a time, plus we have some Earth Dragons that can explain better than me about what they can do,” Mina says. “Earth Dragons? There are more than one kind of Dragon?” I ask still feeling completely lost. They all nod. Devon, Dylan, and I are just staring and looking confused. MJ speaks up, “Yes. There are different kind of Dragons. Dad, Mina and myself are Fire Dragons. We can control fire if it is lit. We are capable of breathing fire while in Dragon form. Earth Dragons, like Ralph and his sons, can manipulate the Earth. That is a very watered-down version. I’m sure Ralph can elaborate more. There are Air Dragons, they can control the air currents. Many can flap their wings so hard that they can cause tornado or hurricane type conditions. There are also Water Dragons. As it sounds, they can control the water. They like to live near the water. The springs that are on the mountains will be great for them. They will probably expand them so they can be more efficient. We all work together to help one another.”

I am just floored. I don’t know what to say. I come out of my daze, “Ralph, I am excited to see what it is that you do and how you do it. As we move forward, I am sure we can all benefit and help one another.” He smiles and nods at me. “We should probably all get to bed. Tomorrow is going to be a long day and I may have to put a b**ch in her place,” Mina jumps up saying. As soon as she says that I hear another incredibly deep voice, “What do you mean Princess?” I look over and it is Trevor speaking. He looks pissed. I hope he doesn’t have a thing for Mina. As if sensing my worry, Mina grabs my hand, kisses my cheek, and links, ‘Don’t worry about Trevor. Their family is loyal to the crown and has served under my family for generations. Plus, he is mated. His wife is so cute and tiny. You should see the big burly man with his daughter.’ I relax and say, “There is a she wolf that thinks that Mina has me under a spell because I had relations with her one time.” “I am going to be in the training grounds at 7:00 in the morning. If she shows up, I am going to teach her a lesson. Ooo, it may be fun if we all train together. You guys cause your earthquakes and we can heat things up. It will give the wolves a good show. We are going to be training them on different techniques,” she says with a smile. Trevor and his brother nod. “Devon, please show them the rooms on the Beta and Delta floor. Maximus and Toby, I have rooms for you on my floor. Everyone else will be staying with their mates. Dylan, your room is ready as always,” I say and lead Mina out and up to our room.

Xavier is jumping up and down. He wants out. ‘Claim mate or I will,’ he yells at me. I rip my clothes off, including my boxers, and pin her to the bed. She brings my face to hers and kisses me. ‘Mate is hot. Mate knows what she wants,’ Xavier says. “So much for foreplay,” I say to her. “I need you now Alpha,” she pants out. That is all it took. I slam into her making her head go back from pleasure. She grabs my shoulders to steady herself. I have my hands on either side of her on the bed and pound into her repeatedly. She is screaming my name. “Who do you belong to?” I say. She moans in response. “Words, sweetheart. I need your words.” I demand. “You Jace. Only you,” she yells. I pound into her harder.
