Chapter 4

Charlene’s P.O.V

I spend the day at home alone, just relaxing and working on my computer. I was thinking; today has been boring, I’m just trying to focus on writing my chapters for now to distract myself from thinking of anything bad or sad...

Beep! My phone vibrated; I checked my phone. It’s Kai! My heart flutters to the sight of his picture. He said; Hi! I’m sorry that recently we have not been talking so often like how we used to be, but do you want to meet up for dinner after I end work?

I was thinking; I’m happy that he wants to meet me, but I don’t really know how to face him after all the drama that I started. I’m really scared but I still want to meet him. I replied him: Sure, Let’s meet at Orchard MRT at 745pm

I checked the time, it’s currently 630pm. I went to shower and freshen up, I changed into a big graphic t-shirt, shorts and sandals. I packed my hand bag with a bunch of my necessities such as my portable charger and cable because my phone’s battery drains fast. I sprayed my favourite Chanel perfume before I headed out.

I had numerous thoughts in my head that made me feel scared as I don’t know what to expect. The only thing I can do is to suck it up and just be brave

When I was reaching Orchard MRT, I texted him; I’m reaching the place! Where are you, it almost 745pm already.

-when I reached the MRT-

I coincidentally ran into my best friend, Lia. The moment we saw each other, our eyes widen in surprise haha. I said; Hi!! How are you? (haha) we haven’t been seen each other for a while You look so cute in your outfit.

She replied: Hi babe! I’m fine (haha) recently we only text because I have been busy with work, I’m off to meet a friend, how about you?  I replied: I’m going to meet a date now (hehe)

It was when someone tapped me on the back, I turned back. It is Kai. I said; I got to go now Lia! Bye! See you soon. (hugged her) she said; Sure, Bye babe!

Kai said; Let’s eat something cheap and nice! (smiled at me) I replied: Okay! Let’s go. Kai hugged me and said; I missed you, I’m feel awful for the drama that happened between us. I replied: I missed you too, I miss your hugs and kisses. It’s fine I already reflected a lot about what I had done.

He replied: That’s good (smiled) I said; Let’s eat Korean food! I’m craving for it, don’t mind about the price first let’s just enjoy our time together. He held my hand first; it made my heart flutter. He didn’t hold my hand before, so it means he is serious in his words, to be honest I’m still a little scared because I don’t really trust myself towards commitment.

-after dinner-

We took the train to the stadium station to take a walk and enjoy the night scenery, we found a nice spot to sit and talk. He said; the view is so beautiful, just like you I replied: Thank you, you look not bad yourself (winked)

He was looking at me lovingly, I realise his eyes were looking at me than my lips. He whispered; You are so beautiful~ may I have this kiss? I nodded my head, he leaned in closer and closer. My heart is racing but in a good way, the moment our lips touched with each other.

I felt so loved by him, the atmosphere made it even better. It feels so romantic; my face feels so warm. I must be blushing luckily the area we sat in is not brightly lit, I could hide my blushing face.

  -the next day-

Charlene’s P.O.V

While I was working on my laptop, thoughts of last night’s date with him popped up in my mind. My thoughts; it was such a nice date, I loved it so much and the atmosphere made it so romantic~

Even though I loved the date so much, but I still feel that I have social anxiety when I walk out with him because I’m so afraid of other guys seeing me in public holding hands with another guy.

My phone beeped: It was from C. He is an old friend that I had for many years, but he is interested in me even though I said that I have a date. He said; Char, I know that you are seeing someone now, but I’m interested in you. I hope you would give me a chance to prove to you I’m better than him.

In my mind, I have known him for all my life, to be honest I have been interested in him before way before I met Kai. Him and I had out differences, but we hashed it out in the end, and he knows that if I am honest with him. To be honest, I want to at least give him a chance to see if he really meant his words because he said the same exact thing so many times.

I replied: But you said the same thing so many times, I don’t believe you. He replied: if you don’t believe, there is no point in me trying to prove my point. I replied: Okay, I believe. He replied: Do you want to go out with me today? I replied: Okay

He replied: It’s 1230 pm now, let’s meet at 2 pm at the mall in serangoon. I replied: Sure! See you later!

I went to wash up and got dressed, I wrapped myself in my towel and went to my room to get changed. The cold wind blew on me, when I stepped out of the bathroom. I shivered, I walked quickly to my room to apply cream before I choose my clothes.

I was thinking; what should I wear... since it is like a date with him. I think cute but casual. I thought of sexy clothes but it’s kind of weird since we are going to watch movie too. I chose a big flowy shirt with shorts and pink sandals,

I checked the time, it is about 130 pm already. I sprayed my Chanel perfume, grabbed my bag, my favorite jacket, wore my shoes before heading out.

 - when we met up –

He commented; You look so cute in your outfit! I replied: Thank you (winked) We went to eat pasta before we went to buy the movie tickets. I was supposed to buy the tickets, but I didn’t have enough cash to pay for it. He offered to pay first than I pay him back after that, he said; remember to pay me back okay, because currently I don’t have enough cash. I am more broke than you haha

Before the movie started, we went to the nearby supermarket to buy drinks and snacks. I said; How are we going to smuggle this in the cinema (laughed) He said; I can hide this in my jacket (haha). He wore the jacket that I bought; he looks so cute in my favourite oversized jacket.

Before we reached the cinema, he hid the bag under the jacket. He looks funny (haha) because it looks like he has a bag stomach when he walked into the cinema.

- after the movie –

We feel that the movie was good. however, when we were watching the movie. An old lady was scolding a man who had his phone screen on, it disrupted the attention of people in the cinema as the old lady was so crude when she was scolding the man.

We went to have our favorite shop, Monster Curry. He ordered so much, even though he doesn’t feel well, he was able to finish about three quarter of the big plate.

- after dinner –

I accompanied him to take the bus home, he said; I hope you like today’s outing (smiled and kissed me). I kissed him back, he said; you are so cute (smiled at me)

When he reached his stop, he said; when you reach home, text me okay! I nodded my head and bid him goodbye. I had thoughts in mind; I really enjoyed the date we had just now, but I still need to think about Kai. He put in so much effort for me, but there are still things that I can compare between them.

When I was reaching home, i texted him; hey! I’m home already Get well soon okay! Did you see the doctor?  He replied: Yes, I did, the doctor said I got fever and the upcoming illnesses that everyone has been getting because of the haze. I replied: Rest well okay! Drink a lot of water and sleep early tonight

He said; I will, I promise. I went to washed up and brush my teeth, I decided to turn in early, I feel so tired physically and mentally. I texted; Goodnight! I’m going to sleep. He replied: Goodnight!
