THE LOUNGE

Chapter 7 Hreafns (POV) I lay her on the bed, taking her tattered shoes of her feet and covered with the blanket, leaned down, and placed a quick kiss to her forehead. closing the door quietly behind me as I left, I made my way to the lounge. Following the hallway back towards the drawing room, I stopped at the stairs and made my way down, turned right into the hall, and entered the first room to the left. My father and Dax were already waiting for me as my father waved Marcus out of the room to get some refreshments. "How's the ribs doing, Dax?" I asked, noticing him still holding his side in pain. "they are getting there, but it sure is taking a lot longer to heal than I thought." he replied with a weary grin. i made my way to the deep red couch and sat next to him, patted his shoulder, and said "Well, to be fair, you didn't know what you were up against," I chuckled before continuing "but father what exactly happened back there? how was she able to withstand your command, more over what was that howl she used." My father, who was standing looking into the fire, made his way over to the couch opposite Dax and myself, sat himself down before his face became extremely serious and explained. "She is a lot stronger than I could have imagined... it's gonna take a long time for her to connect with her wolf and stay in control. her mother mentioned this before they left for the mortal lands... she said that Evaluna takes after her father's wolf more than hers. her father's wolf came from a long lineage of warriors, where her mothers line was informants." he paused and rubbed his brows between his fingers. "So what exactly does that mean, alpha?" Asked Dax. "Each silver fangs special gift drive from the five lineage of ancient wolves. warrior, healer, informant, runner, obsidian. each class powerful in their own right. take her mother, for example, she was able to see things before they happened." "she could see the future?" I asked "yes and no, she had premanitions, meaning there is a possibility that they could or could not come true depending on what action is taken. but she was also able to see things that happened around the world at that moment in time. " "What about her father's gift? we should probably know more about his, if she takes after her father like you said" Dax exclaimed "her father's gift was wind... very similar to hers, he was able to manipulate the air around him and turn it into a weapon... but somehow, she seems to be able to manipulate both air and sound... I have never seen a silver fang pup be able to do that... I'm afraid that when it inevitably gets out, we have her... there will be a war." silence followed as we all felt the gravity of the statement. I could smell her sweet wildflower smell again. It calmed me. 'it must be coming from my shirt,' I thought to myself before concentrating on the conversation again. "There hasn't been a war in sixteen years. We have all finally come to an Era of peace... there is no way that one little wolf could break it so easily." Dax said, getting to his feet in disbelief. "You forget Dax who started that war in the first place," my father replied "y-you don't mean the little puppy?" Dax dropped into the couch, his face turning pale. My father gave us both a long stare as his answer. "A whole war just for breeding... you can't be serious?" I asked. my fathers eyes were stern and constant. "Wars have been started for much less... in any case, we will all need to be ready for that outcome. I promised her mother I would take care of her, and I would not break that promise!" "So what is to be done, alpha?" Dax asked as he rubbed the side of his ribs again. standing up as abruptly as he did, pulled at the area, causing him pain. "She will need to get control of her wolf, full control. she needs training and lots of it. We can't have an outburst like we had early happen at the main pack house, the Luna would not stand for it, and I will not put my pack members in jeopardy if she can't be contained. We will keep her here under constant surveillance." My blood got hot, and I felt my claws pierce the arm of the couch ever so slightly. "You talk as if she is a prisoner!" I snarled at my father, getting to my feet. "Calm down, Hreafn, she is as much a prisoner as you. However, I am a little intrigued as to why you are so passionate about her. You have only just met, and yet you act as if she is your mate." my father stated as he leaned in closer with one eyebrow raised, waiting for my answer. I wasn't sure what to say. Technically, she wasn't my mate. No bond has been formed, and yet every cell I'm my body is drawn to her. Her unforgettable smell, her every move, her every breath, the way her plump lips move as she speaks, the way her eyelashes fall when she is sleeping, the way her hand feels in mine. Everything about her screams to every fiber of my being that she is meant to be mine. I couldn't say this to my father. He wouldn't let me near her if I did, afraid that I would try to form the mate bond before her turning eighteen. He was still staring at me, waiting for my reply when I finally spoke. "she doesn't have anyone to care for her. No mother nor father, so I just can't leave her alone. she needs... someone" My fathers eyebrows raises higher before replying, "Oh very well then." Marcus entered the room with a tray full of food sat it down on the wooden table that separated the two couches before turning to my father and whispering in his ear, my father nodded and Marcus left the room but before shutting the door a wave of silver hair brushed passed him and Evaluna entered the room. Evalunas (POV) The bright lights from the windows shone on my face and woke me from my sleep. looking around the room, I noticed I had been placed in a large king bed. sitting up, I looked around and took in the enormous luxury room, decated in black and white marble walls and floors with a black table with gold detailed legs placed next to a deep red arm chair atop of a black fluffy rug that I could bet would feel as soft as it looked. I ran my hands across the plush cotton red quilt that covered me, admiring the smoothness before leaving the bed and making my way out of the room. "I can hear them downstairs. We should check it out," my wolf said "Hush up, you, you have done enough today already... I'm furious with you. You went balistic, " I snarled back. "I only react to the emotions you have. It is not my fault that you could not control the power that I gave you based on YOUR emotions!" I never answered back, knowing that I was also at fault. sniffing the air, I followed the scent of chocolate and vinilla down the winding stairs through the back hallway until I reached two large black doors similar to the ones to the drawing room. I heard muffled voices on the other side. 'I wish I could tell what they were saying.' I thought I was thinking to myself when my wolf replied. "You can, if you let me help," "How?" "Let me take over your ears... only your ears. I promise I won't take over your body, not until you are willing and ready." "o-ok... but only my ears!" I felt my ears get hot before pain filled the side of my head, but the pain didn't last long when sounds became amplified. I listened to their conversation, taking in every word that was said. when a pain throbbed through my heart. "I... I started a war!?" Those words rippled in my head like a never-ending echo. "So everything that happened, my mom leaving her pack, us living on the run, my dad going to war it was all my fault.... our fault!" I cared to my wolf. "it's not your fault, Evie... if anything, the people at fault are those who are power-hungry and want your gifts for yourself... you will not blame us for their unsatisfaction with their lives!" My wolf growled. Her words, though said harshly, made me feel at ease. It was nice to know that I was not truly alone. I had her, and she had me. it was at this point that I spotted the butler coming down the hall with a large tray of food. my ears disappeared after telling my wolf I wanted my own back. I stepped back from the door, trying not to look like I was ease-dropping when he met my eyes. I gave him a small nod before he entered the room. he wasn't long before the door opened again, and he told me the alpha wanted me to enter the room. so I did. my eyes were immediately drawn to Hreafn, who was staring at me in disbelief. my feet stayed planted at the doorway when the alpha spoke. "Are you okay with my plan of keeping you here to train until you have full control over your wolf?" "y-yes, of course, whatever you think is best, alpha. I will do as you command" "Good. Oh, and the next time you try to ease drop, my dear try not to be such a loud breather, " he chuckled. I felt my face flush red in embarrassment. He knew I was listening the whole time. the only thing I could think to do was just nod. the Alpha gestured me to come and sit down beside him, I hesitated before he said "I thought you said you would do as I command," he patted the couch cushion again, and this time, I walked over and sat next to him, feeling very uncomfortable. lifting my head, my eyes met Hreafns, and he smiled softly at me, which caused my body to tingle and relax at the same time. "Well, my dear, now that you are here, I guess I should bring up the sad topic of your mom's funeral." the alpha said gently. "her funeral?" I said, confused, thinking that her body was still back at my old house. "Yes, we will be holding it tomorrow afternoon. She will be buried in her favorite place she would always visit when we were younger... if that's alright with you?" "Yes, I think she would have liked that very much, just one thing I request.... I would like to do my own tribute as a goodbye, " I breathed, trying to talk through the lump that formed in my throat. "Of course... anything you need, " he said softly. he patted my head before standing and rasing his arms in a stretch, grabbed a sandwich from the tray of food set on the table between the couches, before walking towards Hreafn patting his shoulder-if he had said anything I couldn't have known as their mouths did not move- then left the room closing the door behind him. I looked at Hreafn, and then Dax-who looked surprisingly uncomfortable - before saying "I'm really sorry for the trouble I caused... I'm not sure what happened, but I will try my hardest so that it never happens again!... I promise!" "Oh, don't mind it one bit, little puppy. Once I'm all healed up, we will all laugh," Dax said reassuringly. "So you heard everything, huh?" hreafn asked. I nodded, not wanting to lie. he continued, "Do you understand the full gravity of the situation we are all in?" "I do... I don't want anyone to go to war, for or over me... I couldn't live with myself if another person was lost. I will train, as long and as hard as it takes till I can become worthy of being the daughter my mother wanted me to be!" I said wholeheartedly. he stood up and made his way over to me, took my hand, and placed something inside as he smiled. "good that's what I like to hear little Luna" he said smugly, before turning to Dax and saying "her training will start the day after tomorrow so rest up, coach" he grabbed a biscuit off the tray and headed out the door. "w-wait, what? ... I have to train her .... hang on a minute ...Hreafn, HREAFN!!!!!" Dax yelled while chasing him, putting the room, leaving me alone. I looked down at whatever it was he placed in my hand and saw a crinkled picture of me and my mom from the time when we lived in Japan when we went to visit the cherry blossom trees. I lifted the picture to my face and hugged it. 'Thank you, thank you so much for saving a memory'.I thought as tears streamed down my face, and I fell to my knees "Tomorrow will be my final goodbye! I vow after tomorrow, no more tears, I will strive for justice, your justice, I will kill the bastards that killed you," my body got hot as my anger rose I felt my wolf pull herself through before my one voice became two. "we will get our revenge. That's a promise."
