Chapter: Three
Emily's eyes opened fluttering, but she was met with the familiar sight of Elara's in a small cottage. The old and poor woman was already awake, attending to the kitchen and preparing the meal of the day.
"Good morning, Emily" Elara spoke, her voice sounding gentle and warm.
Emily stood up and rubbed her face away from the sleep and swung her legs over the bedside. Emily felt a pang of sadness, remembering the incident of the last night on how she lost her mom finally.
So Emily dressed and ate her breakfast, she couldn't shake the feeling. The moon shadow pack had rejected her, and Emily was living on the fringe of their pack.
Elara seemed to understand what Emily was going through. “Why is this happening to me in this painful moment of life after I had lost my mom?” Emily whispered deeply in her mind.
"I'm with you my child for you are not alone," Elara said, placing her gentle hand on her shoulder. "I will always be there for you, you have me by your side"
“What should be my hopes by now?” Emily responded.
Elara chuckles and says “For you know not what you have carried but I will tell you and teach you, my child”
Emily put on a smile on her face weekly, she felt a surge of gratitude toward Elara the old and poor woman.
Now after days, and months, passed, Emily is growing up confident and stronger. Emily spent her lifetime in the forest, learning so many things about the creatures that live there. The old and poor woman taught Emily about the ancient magic flowing through the air and the land, and she began to understand the true extent of her lunar power.
But despite the little growth of strength, confidence, and powers that Emily gathered, she couldn't let go of the emotion of being an outcast. Emily longed to belong, to be accepted by her pack members the moon shadow pack, and to take a rightful role among her pack.
But little did she know, Emily's destiny was already in motion, and her pack of the moon's shadow were not in balance at the moment. She still did not know the enemies within and the power they possessed but she knew how strong the skyline pack was. Emily never downplayed what they could do.
Despite Emily's desperate idea to fight for her pack, they so much hate her she feels unloved and this has been a very big weakness for her. Thane, Emily's father rejected and abandoned her. She always felt upset but the old woman always came true for her.
Whenever she faced rejection she went back to the forest that had become her sanctuary, to look for happiness as a miss of escaping the pain of the past and the uncertain future, mostly about how she was abandoned by her father. Emily spent her time chasing after the monkeys climbing the trees up and watching soaring birds and flying howls in the forest.
Her childhood was seen as a sense of isolation. Emily and Elara lived out of pack territory, in the forest in a small cottage. The old woman also taught her how to hunt and told her the ancient stories of the pack.
With all the time of rejection, and feeling unloved, for Emily the skyline pack never stops attacking the moon shadow pack. More things were destroyed, and they continued having the experience of loss of property and the death of the young wolf in the den.
Later Emily begins to understand that she is different from the other wolves. Emily possessed unexplained and strange powers that seemed to illuminate the moon itself.
Emily faced hostility and rejection every time she tried to approach the moon shadow pack. The wolf of the pack sees her as an outcast even as an unnatural creature who never deserves to be a member of their pack.
Emily's heart is filled with loneliness and sadness, but she never gives up. Emily knows that she is meant for something great, which will prove her a big capacity, and worth among the pack.
But still not yet revealed to Emily there is power from the kingdom of darkness that is after her lunar power and to shift her soul from the moon's illumination.
Despite the threat to Emily the celestial sign still overshadowed her and the agent had never stopped speaking to Elara on Emily's behalf to follow the instructions for the fulfillment of the prophecy.
As she continued to grow in strength and power of her lunar, a dark force began to stir in the shadows. This power force, Malakai, is so powerful and from the kingdom of darkness.
This agent of darkness called Malakai had been searching for Emily before she was born, drawn by the glow of her lunar power. He is eager to claim Emily's power for himself and to claim the illumination of the moon to his own dark will.
Malakai thought to go beyond hunger for power but to corrupt Emily's soul and shift Emily's alignment from the moon's gentle light to the darkness.
Emily is unaware of the danger in the shadows but she always explores the depth of her power. She practiced her spelling, and she delved into the mystery of her lunar art.
The more she grew stronger the more, Malakai the agent of darkness drew closer. Emily felt the darkness approaching, and she began to grow in otherworldly light. And as if warning Emily of the danger behind the horizon.
Still, she remains oblivious, her focus fixed on learning her powers and finding a rightful place among the moon shadow pack. But still little she knew, her mind was ready to take a dramatic turn, and all the pit of Malakai's dark force against her away and the kingdom of the darkness.
The day turned off to dark the moon was nowhere to be found, the star refused to be bright, the sun came o
ut not and darkness moved upon the surface of the pack.
