Chapter 26: Under My Skin
[ Trinity ]
"Sacrifices," Trinity ominously repeated in disbelief her bright blue eyes staring off into the distance as she pictured the sight and there was no way to make it sound less brutal.
Stiles nodded brushing his long fingers over his thin lips. "Human sacrifices. So far, all three were virgins."
"And the guy last night?"
Scott rolled his eye at the two, changing into the cross country uniform—lacrosse players were forced to partake in the sport during the off season to stay in shape. Trinity joined simply to stay in shape to keep up with the after school events she took place in. "Guys, he's not dead, he's just missing. He'll be back."
Trinity opened the stall she was in, not commenting on how the two teenage boys were in the girls bathroom solely because is smelled better than the boys locker room. "Dead or alive?" She adjusted the black leggings she wore and tied her shoes, tying her hair up on a ponytail afterwards.
"You hang around Derek too much. Maybe that's why you're such a pessimist."
Trinity walked ahead of them, setting her gym bag on the bleachers as she made it outside. A pair of white headphones were placed in her ears as she got on the track. A specific trail was made and little distractions were ideal for the seventeen year old. She'd spent the whole summer working out and she missed running without the constant fear of having to watch her back.
Over the steady thrum of music flowing in her ear, she hear the whistle blow along with Finstock's voice. "Pace yourselves."
Trinity ran fast, so fast she could feel her calves burning as she conditioned her body. She wasn't sure where everyone had went, one minute they were there and the next she'd spaced out so far she couldn't tell if they were behind her or in front.
The blonde slowed to a halt, pulling out her phone to change the song. Sitting on the ground for a quick second to see where the others had gone and to catch her breath when she felt something wet sink into the fabric of her leggings.
Looking up, she saw it. A boy tied to the tree, a rope around his neck as blood poured down his neck and pooling down at his feet. A loud scream escaped her lips as she scrambled on away from the dead body. Her movements were sloppy and she wasn't able to make it to her feet. Trinity collided with another body and she opened her mouth to scream again when a familiar voice filled her ears. "Trinity it's me, it's Isaac."
Her hands wrapped tightly around his form, tear burning against the back of her eyes as she struggled to breathe. Her body shook and she could literally feel the blood sticking to her skin. "He's dead. Isaac, he's dead."
He didn't respond to her, simply pulling her tighter to him as he leaned over to whisper to Scott and Stiles. "Do you see the way the twins are looking at him?" Lahey stared at the two alphas that had taken part of Erica's death, fueling his hatred towards them.
"Like they didn't know what happened."
"They knew," Isaac affirmed, holding Trinity under his arm.
They walked away from the scene when the Sheriff come forth, directing the teens away from the body before they trampled of the evidence. "I don't think it's them," Stiles admits, taking one final look at the senior. "He was strangled with a garrote and not slashed by claws. A werewolf didn't do this."
"They killed him, they killed the girl who saved me and I'm going to kill them."
But all three statements turned up false.

"Derek's going to kick your ass," Trinity joked, reading over the green detention slip Harris had given to the curly haired werewolf.
"I didn't do it," Isaac put books in his locker, recalling how the twins had blamed him for a fight he didn't start. "They're trying to get under my skin."
Aiden walked down the hallway, sending a wink their way. "Is it working?"
"Definitely."
"What do you want me to do?" Trinity finally asked, leaning beside him.
Isaac looked down at her with hopeful blue eyes. "Get detention with me?"
"Not gonna happen, but I'll save you a lunch."
Ten minutes into lunch, Trinity left the group straying off to find Isaac who was sentenced to janitor closet restocking with Allison. "I brought you a sandwich but they only had turkey and cheese," She mumbled to herself dropping the item when she saw a vending machine in front of the door, loud growls coming from the other side.
Trinity pushed against the heavy metal, managing to move it a little. "Move," Scott demands running down the hallway his eyes a bright gold as she used his enhanced strength to easily push the machine away. Stepping into the room, Scott pulled Isaac out throwing him towards Trinity.
"I didn't mean it," Isaac whimpered after he'd snapped back into reality. Allison was by Scott, her hand covering a minor scrape given to her by the werewolf.
"I know," The huntress assured. "It's not your fault."
Isaac rested his head on Trinity's shoulder, one hand gripping hers tightly, pulling him back from the harsh fear that he was locked in a freezer. Her warmth soothed him and gave his heart the chance to stop beating so quickly. "They aren't trying to piss us off."
"They're trying to get someone killed."
