The party was in full swing and everyone was having a good time. Well, almost everyone. Crystal was putting on a smile, but I could see something was wrong. She has been irritable the last couple of days more so today.
After my dad announced his retirement and me as his replacement I had many people come up and give their congratulations. A lot of them said quick congratulations and safe delivery for our baby. Some of the wives lingered too long and tried to give advice to Crystal or touch her baby bump. She had even swatted one woman’s hand away.
I was able to keep the situation under control while the husband gave us an apologetic look. I still had a few more people to greet, but I knew she would need to sit down soon. She excused herself and assured me she would be alright fi
