I planned Mason’s birthday party out of town. It was just going to be the two of us. Claire was going to stay with Jonathan and Irene. Linda offered to keep her, but Mason and I don’t trust her alone with Claire.
I made sure Jonathan and Irene knew that if she came to visit she was not to be alone with her. She said she was trying to get better, but she has already done a lot of damage to Mason and myself. I can forgive her, but I can’t trust anymore.
When we dropped her off I felt guilty for leaving her. We’ve never spent a night away from her. Irene assured me it was normal. She reminded me that we were only an hour away and if I started to miss her too much that I could call anytime.
