Chapter 5: Red

::Sarah's POV:: Am... Am I dreaming? Our surroundings looked foggy. Wait! Our? "You're here?" Adam sounded off. I beamed in her direction and saw that we were consciously in the same dream! I ran towards her and she had such a worried look on her face. "What's wrong?" I asked. "I-it's nothing," her voice was uneasy, "It's nothing," she repeated. That did not sound like the Adam I knew. This had me worried. Adam muttered, "I think our wolves are hunting right now." Hunting... the process of entering the dream world of our wolves. Only blood of Alphas or greater is allowed this power. I've only done it a couple of times and when I last did it... ...It was with my mom. Then, above us, a sparkle of light gleamed through the fog. It cleared and our wolves bowed their heads in respect. The goddess of all werewolves made her appearance. A part of me was afraid because of the last visitation I had with her. Jen, was too, uneasy. Especially, when we were expecting pups. "Greetings," the moon goddess glazed her warmth over us, "I see things have been accounted for." Adam burst, "Accounted for? Last time we spoke you said I was able to communicate with Sarah through hunting. And- and," he twirled around in frustration, "What is this?" "Oh my," she gently giggled. "It's not funny!" Adam pouted. Since when were we ever allowed to talk to the moon goddess like that? Jen side eyed me. "I'm not sure. But this is Adam we are talking about," I recalled. Eric chimed in, "So will my name change to Erica?" Jen and I both looked at each other in awkward silence, but couldn't help but giggle afterwards. The moon goddess continued, "It seems like you've encountered your first visitor," she gestured towards Adam, who then shut her mouth up. "I-I," Adam stuttered. "It's okay," the moon goddess purred, "I believe that this will help you get back to how you were." "How I was?" Adam was piqued with curiosity, "Like?" "If you haven't realized it by now," she cooed, "You have been regaining more of your powers." "I never noticed," Adam admitted, "I guess I haven't really updated myself about it recently." "You are able to hunt for one," she explained, "I believe that the visitors of your past will bless you with tremendous perks." Adam pursed her lips, "But..." she then looked up at her, "You saw didn't you?" The moon goddess sadly sighed and nodded, "Yes." "What's going on?" I interrupted, "I don't mean to butt in, but why are we here?" The moon goddess redirected her sight to me and padded over. Jen could do nothing but whimper into a bow. She rubbed furs with her, "You are my greatest treasure, Jen," she gave a mournful smile, "The last lycan in existence." "So you know about lycans," Adam adored their interaction, "What does this have to do with Absalom?" "Right," she pulled away slowly as Jen whimpered for her touch. I had to retain as much information as I could with this opportunity. She then sat down, "Absalom's curse has delayed your powers when you reentered into the world. As you and Trey know there is more worlds than just ours." What?! My eyes dilated with questions, Jen's ears pricked upright. "Yeah," Adam whispered, "There's the Human Realm and the Vampire Realm, right?" "I did not know such a place existed," the moon goddess sighed, "But, the balance of nature is out of order. We were never meant to find the other worlds." So there are other worlds? Adam turned to me, "That's what we meant about sightseeing," he sighed, "We were powerless there." She then turned to me, "I know you might want to go, but it is best that you don't." "Why?" I asked, "Is it because of my lycanthropy?" "We don't know much about the human realm," Adam stated, "But Trey is certain that the Vampire Realm has been causing chaos at night." "Vampires are nocturnal," I added. "And so are we," Adam reminded, "We cannot let it go unnoticed that the humans, too, are in danger." So more people are being hurt because of me. "What does Absalom want from me?" I had to ask. "We are still figuring that out," the moon goddess sighed, "But whatever it is, it's nothing favorable on your end." Before I could talk, I saw her fur begin to fade. She looked up at the twinkling star, "This is all the time we have right now." "Don't go!" I squeaked, "I have so many questions!" "All in due time," she smiled, "You will find your answers." Her wolf spirit transformed into an orb and joined in with the light. The twinkle diminished and then everything turned pitch black. I woke up from my sleep. I gasped and calmed myself down. I reached for Adam who soon opened his eyes. We looked at each other for a minute and I hugged her. Adam sounded like she was about to cry, "I don't want to go through it again..." "Go through what?" I encouraged her to carry on. "The visitors," she whimpered, "Not again." I did hear the moon goddess speaking about visitors and how it has unlocked some of Adam's powers. "Maybe it will help you return to your true self," I nudged him. But he wasn't his usual enthusiastic self, she got up and offered me a hand. She then locked gazes with me, "I don't think the moon goddess knows you are pregnant." "How do you know?" I placed a protective hand on my belly. "Because," he recalled, "She touched Jen, but didn't glow pink." He was right. The moon goddess glows pink as a ritual of blessing for upcoming pups. But, the fact that she wasn't able to sense our pregnancy was baffling. "So what about the visitor thing?" I regretfully asked, "Who visited you?" "Someone from my past," he hinted, "Someone who isn't of this world anymore." Oh. It was no wonder that he had a mournful expression on his face. Adam was good at bottling up emotions, but he wasn't a man anymore. I believe he wasn't able to regulate or accept his emotions as a woman. "I'm here," I rested my hand on his shoulder, "I'd never have you go through it alone." "It's not something I want you to experience," he muttered under his breath. Adam left the bathroom without saying another word. I went back to pick up the tampon. Sarah! I jolted upright and was instilled instantly with fear! My eyes locked onto the mirror where a shadow figure appeared behind me. I could feel my chest tighten as it formed claws that scraped against my wrist! I tried to move, but couldn't. "Jen!" What was happening? Everything around me fell silent. It was as if time had stopped. I looked at my wrist that bled into an unknown symbol. The symbol seared into my skin and then disappeared. I felt breath return to my lungs and the shadow figure dispersed into thin air. I grounded myself by leaning against the counter. My strength felt sapped from my body, both physical and spiritual. I held my abdomen in fear. They're okay, Jen reassured, What was that? I don't know... I clumsily walked out, I don't know! Adam or shall I say Aidah was already back with Trey in their room. I entered Drake's, and I's room, and he welcomed me into his embrace. "How was the hunt?" he innocently asked. "We spoke to the moon goddess," I snuggled against him. "Everything alright?" he pulled me in. "I-I don't know," I admitted, "I just want to sleep." That was something scary. I've never seen that entity around before. Could it have been my lycan? Or was it something else that should not be in this world? I felt my wrist, but the scars and symbol were not there. Maybe this is an after effect from the hunt. I remember being exhausted and partially loopy when it happened. I had never hunted with Adam before. And Adam is technically dead, so perhaps this is another unbalanced punishment from nature. I felt Drake's strong arms comfort me into sleep. We can't lose them, I confided to myself, not again... The next morning greeted us with youthful sunshine. Drake remained in bed with me and landed a morning kiss. "Babe!" I giggled, "I have morning breath!" "So?" he kissed me again, "I love every taste of you." We couldn't help but deepen our kiss and my hormones were acting up. "SARAH!" I heard Adam squeal. I got up and dashed towards their room. I barged in and called out to her, "Adam!" "I-I'm sorry," she squeaked, "I bled on the bed." My eyes widened in disbelief, "It's okay, that's normal sometimes." I scratched my head and called for housekeeping. Melody appeared and bowed. She took the linens off from Adam's bed and wrapped fresh ones in a matter of seconds. She smiled and waved goodbye and went back to her duties. "Well, how was your sleep Tr-" I paused. Trey was backed into a corner like a cat in urchin mode. His eyes twitched with rage. "I don't know if you call it 'in heat' or whatever, but she needs to stay away from me," he pointed at Adam, "Wolf or not! Consent is consent!" I looked over at Adam who innocently bowed her head in apology, "It's not something I can technically control." "You tried to rape him?" I scolded. "It's not my fault!" Adam defended, "These 'w***e-mones' aren't exactly my specialty." Drake stood behind me, "I can recall those nights where a certain woman wasn't able to control hers either," he teased. I spun around and scolded him, "Hey!" I put my finger down, "You didn't exactly stop me either." He smirked at me and Trey shouted from across, "Get a room!" "If everything here has been taken cared of," Drake scooped me onto his broad strong shoulder, "We might just return now." "Don't leave me in here," Trey playfully begged. Or at least I left it at that. I pulled my bottom eye and stuck out my tongue at him. He seemed to tighten his jaw and I winked at Adam, who got the message. Before I closed the door behind us, I saw Adam playfully pounce on him. The sinister satisfaction I got from hearing Trey go, "Noooooooo! Have mercy!" ::Trey's POV:: Oh, god that I don't believe in! I dodged Adam's feisty lunges and threw a pillow at her. She giggled and continued to chase me around the room. I toro-ed her like a bull in a bullpen. She was definitely seeing red. Because she was on red. "Adam!" I barked, "Stop!" "It's Aidah," she playfully corrected, "At least until I get my old body back." What did she say? Adam once again jumped at me where I then quickly grabbed her wrist and pinned her against the wall. "What do you mean until you get your old body back?" I whispered. "Oh, daddy!" she was inaudible. I had to get through to Adam, someway, somehow! I reached behind her head and pulled her in. Our lips collided, and I felt that familiar spark tingle through my skin. I closed my eyes and surrendered to the sensation. Adam obliged by deepening it, pushing with her urgent tongue. Can't stop now. I entered mine into her mouth and intertwined our sins in spit. Adam may be a girl right now, but it was still him. I've treated his new vessel as someone who had far too many drinks, that I haven't completely considered his desires. Would it really be okay? But these senses were ecstatic! It was like fireworks popping through my veins with her very touch. It felt like this when we first kissed. That was before everything ended. "Adam," I barely muttered, "I love you."
