Chapter 3

Levi's P.O.V.

"Tell me why again, that we're rushing to go to a stupid mating ceremony for an Alpha in another pack?" Levi complains.

"Because they have requested us and I'm hoping to find my mate" his Beta, Jeremiah, responds nonchalantly.

"You're mate?" Levi asks with a brow raised.

"Yes, my mate. I have been to all the balls and gatherings and meetings with other packs, except his one. My mate has to be there. Who knows, you may find yours as well" Jeremiah wiggles his eyebrows at Levi with a grin on his face.

"psssh. I'll pass. If my mate is there, I will happily reject her. You wants a mate from a pack who's leader is a female?"

"Seriously? What if it's the Alpha herself? If you don't want her, maybe she'll accept me instead of whoever she is going to accept now" Jeremiah blabbers like a kid in a candy store.

"She is having a "mating ceremony" which means she found her mate already ding dong" Levi scoffs annoyed.

"She was actually forced to choose a mate in order to lead since she never found a mate. Poo Canal"

This has grabbed Levi's attention. Was she really being forced to mate just to keep her title? "Wait! POO FACE?!"

Jeremiah smacks his Alpha on the back laughing at the delayed reaction.

Thursday

"Why did I have to dress up? It's not like I'm in the ceremony." 

"Dude bro, chill" Jeremiah rolls his eyes.

"Dude?" Levi narrows his eyes on his Beta, but then a fragrance of ocean breeze and fresh roses catches hits his nose. He starts sniffing the air feeling his wolf wagging his tell like a dog eyeing a bone.

"Hey Vi, What's wrong man? What are you doing?" Jeremiah is now officially concerned that his friend has lost his marbles.

"Can you not smell the most amazing scent?"

"Nope" he replies. "Wait maybe it's your mate!" He jumps excitedly. 

"What the f**k is wrong with you? You're acting like a girl right now. I need a walk before the Alpha meeting." Levi then turns and walks away.

There is no way our mate can be here! I have been mateless for years. She doesn't exist.

You never know. The Goddess creates mates for everyone. The only way you wouldn't have one is if yours was dead and we didn't feel anything, that we know of.

I don't know what to do Onyx. If she is my mate, should I reject her or make her a Luna?

We do need a Luna, especially to handle things if you're away.

I'll think about it . Levi then shuts out his wolf and walks around outside.

Do I even want a mate? Yes it would be good to be able to f**k anytime I want and someone to have my pup. Do I really want to wake up each morning with a beauty next to me, or someone to ask me about my day? 

Actually doesn't sound too bad does it?

No Onyx, it doesn't. Maybe having a mate is a good thing. 

I decided to go back inside when he faintly smells the intoxicating scent again. Roses were such a cliche fragrance, but man, if he didn't get aroused thinking about it and his mate now. He decided to follow his nose upstairs to the top floor. The scent was getting stronger until he reaches a door. 

MATE! MATE IS INSIDE!!! my wolf screams inside his head. I decide to knock on the door, but no one answers. I quietly opens the door and pokes his head inside to hear running water. "She must be in the shower," I grumble.

"Hey! What are you doing up here, and poking around my mate's door?" Jason growls out.

"Your mate? I'm sorry I just followed an intoxicating scent that belongs to my mate up here." 

"Oh no...no.no.no. She is my mate. She chose me and you need to leave." Jason barks.

"What is going on up here?" David growls which causes both wolves to whip their heads quickly to the Alpha.

"I was just coming to check on my mate when I caught this jackass trying to sneak a peek on her" Jason gestures towards Levi with his head.

"Alpha Levi, what ARE you doing up here anyways? This is the Alpha and Beta floors." 

"I was following a rose and ocean breeze scent and this is where it brought me. My wolf claims it is the scent of my mate, especially since no one else seems to smell it as strongly." I explain. "Wait Alpha and Beta floor?! Does that mean my mate is a Beta?" 

" No, if you smell the ocean and roses, you are smelling my daughter. She is an Alpha." David shakes his head, "This is going to cause problems."

"No it isn't because we will continue as planned," Jason declares. 

"She is my true mate and will come with me!" I roared nloud enough to shake the walls.Next thing we know, Alissya is opening the door wrapped in a towel glaring at everyone.

"What the Hell is going on out...." Her head pops up towards me. 

"Mate." I growl. Alissya gasps and slams the door.
