The enticing smells of the barbecue hit them all as soon as the cabin door was opened. Tobias practically ran toward the ranch house. Leo, with his shorter legs, struggled to keep up. Cabin number three, their home for the next two weeks, was located the furthest from the communal eating area, and the closest to the stables and paddock. Annika wrinkled her nose at the horsey smells as they passed, but managed to forget about them as the smoky meat aroma wafted toward them. Steph moved slowly past the open windows of the stables, trying to peer into each of them.
“Come on, girl! There’ll be plenty of time for the horses later. Right now I’m hungry enough to eat one, so you’d better get a move on.”
