Cott's House Back Story.
In the grand old 16th century English country side, the birds sing and the sun is shinning. With a gentle whisper of a breeze to take some heat away from the summer sun. Country politics fought over within the kings court, courtiers discuss the running of the country with the king Henry VIII, working in his court was the newly appointed Lord Walter Cott. Stood upon top of Cott hill, was Cott's house, built in the late 1400's, early 1500's, and surrounded by a woodland of trees, Cott house was an 8 bedroom, 3 bathroom, 1 huge dining room, 1 function hall, lounge with a study attached, with a well equiped suitable kitchen, fit for the lord and lady Cott. The roofs were steep in pitch with a tiled finish, with a brown brick and stoney texture to the outside walls. Lord Walter cott, a handsome, 27 year old wealthy man, as a man of the kings courtiers, he and his wife moved into the grand house in 1530, with his 25 year old wife Lady Theodora Cott, lady Theo for short. When the house was brand new and freshly built, the king gifted him the ownership of this mejesty dovelopment, as a reward for his services to the crown, and work in the courts. The lord and lady enjoyed the fruits of nature within the woodlands around them, and went for daily walks through the twisted and tangly branches slowly fordging a pathway through the woods over time. It was on these walks that the lord and lady discussed the running of their home and decided to take on staff, such as a butler, 3 maids, 2 cooks and a dresser for her ladyship. The lord carried on his works within the courts of his majesty, so he would, on frequent occassions, travel to london to carry out his courting duties, and up hold his stature as a lord. Life was going like a dream, for the lord and lady. Well, that was until, in late june 1535, when the lady Theo fell pregnant. Lady Theo started off well, the excitment of the lord and her ladyship was extravigant. That was until lady theo started having a very overwhelming dread that something was not right, but she did not want to tell lord Walter and worry or upset him. 2 months had past on a really hot August day, lady Theo started to feel odd, as though she started to come down with something, so she told Walter she was going for a lie down. The time was now 8.30pm and his lordship went to his room to check on Theo. The maids had poked their heads in and out throughout the day, but she slept and slept. Walter laid down next to her and noticed that theo was in a cold shivery sweat. He raced up to the bedroom door and shouted "Send for a doctor now". As he turned Theo was stood by the bed, she looked ghost like, when suddenly she threw up all over the bedroom floor, she suddenly screamed in absolute agony and collapsed to the bedroom floor into her own spew. Nobody could explain what was wrong with her. They waited for the doctor, as Theo struggled on the floor. Theo told Walter "I love you, i'll save you a seat next to me in heaven", lord walter replied "don't talk like that please, i love you you're not going anywhere". The time was now 8.53pm, when Lady Theo Cott passed away, taking her little baby with her. Walter held her hand as she past, he cried hard into her hand, this was the most pain he has ever felt in his life. He prayed and begged hard for god to bring her and their baby back, he begged and prayed, the harder he prayed the more it felt to him like god was not listening. With Lady Theo's body taken to a director of funerals, and days passing, lord Walter was slowly losing control of his mental state. The house staff were growing ever more concerned for him. The time came for the funeral, Walter was pale in colour, all dressed in black, not having slept a wink since his wifes death, his eyes were bagged and black. As he stood at the grave side watching the coffin slowly lower into the grave, it settled him a little knowing that her and their unborn baby will be together forever. Lord Walter dazed himself back to Cott house, where he walked into the lounge and poured himself a glass of port. He stood staring into his port decanter, until out of the blue he stormed off into his study, however when he got to his gun cabinet he unlocked it and took out his shot gun. As he locked the cabinet door he held his gun tight with a serious decision to make. He returned to the lounge and sat in his arm chair, still with gun in his hand. The time was 8.53pm, lord Walter sat in quiet drinking himself into a state, as he watched his fire burn, thinking about lady Theo, throughout the candlelit echoey corridor's he heard from another room, a baby crying. As he heard the cry he held his gun tighter and stood up, he walked toward the door with caution and worry, he then went to investigate. As he approached the foot of the stairs, he heard the same cry again coming from upstairs. He slowly climbed the creeky wooden candlelit stairs, he stood on the candlelit landing, as the august summer sun was fading, he stood holding his gun, ready to fire if needed. He looked from one end to another and saw nothing, but yet the feeling of being watched was on him at all times. Just as he turned to go back down the stairs, he then heard a all mighty pearcing womans scream of pain come from his bedroom. It was as though he was reliving the evening of Lady Theos death. He ran as fast as he could caper to his bedroom, but he found an empty room. By this time walter was convinced that it was the booze thats made him go funny, so he put himself to bed, with a drunken flop. These events would carry on over the upcoming nights at 8.53pm, so much so that on the 11th night Lord walter sat on the edge of his bed with his fully loaded shot gun barrel pointing to the top of his mouth, once again in a drunken state, and at 9.15pm after he heard that same pearcing saddening scream of pain, he drank his last glass and pulled the trigger.
