The Kidnapping

=Natasha= It was an odd week for me. I kept getting the feeling like I was being followed. Every time I turned around though I was alone. Maybe it was because I never really got over that dog running away on me. I opened my door and he bolted never seeing him again. It wasn’t so bad I wasn’t really ready to adopt a dog, but he was such a well trained one it was almost surprising someone had lost him. Then again, if he bolted on them like he did me I could understand.  “Hey Nat.” A fellow bartender welcomed me for my shift. It was going to be a slow night but at least I made minimum wage against tips so it was still worth it.  “Hey,” I smiled. “You know some guys were by asking about you.” “Guys?” Interesting, but highly unlikely.  “Yeah, one was this older guy he was really lazy looking.” Oh no, that sounded familiar, “The other one-” “Let me guess, skinny, short, and dark hair?” “Yeah, kind of younger looking.” “Well, if they come by again I’m not here.” I wasn’t playing hard to get, the guy seemed nice, but there was something definitely off about him and his two friends. The birthday boy was clearly on something and I got the feeling he had a slight temper.  “Say no more.” The unspoken hero of the night was this girl. “Diane called off tonight, so are you going to be okay working solo?” “Of course.” I shrugged, this was going to be such an easy night.  ----------------- After the bar closed everyone started to go home leaving me alone to clean up. It wasn’t the best circumstance, but there was nothing I could really do about it. The bouncer met some girl and pleaded with me to let him go. Of course I had to let him. He hardly ever got lucky and I was happy to see him bond with someone.  I shut the lights off but then I heard the back door open, “Sorry we’re closed.” I called, but there was no answer. From my angle I couldn’t see the front door, but it was supposed to be locked already, no one could have gotten in without a key. I threw my rag down into the sink wiping my hands off before continuing around the bar. The front door was cracked slightly which didn’t make sense. “Someone here?” I called. My pepper spray was in my bag behind the counter so I turned back quickly heading for it. When I reached the counter I found that my bag was gone. Now things were getting crazy. “Okay, if someone is here this isn’t funny. Stop it right now.” Of course it’d be tonight that I get robbed, “We don’t have any money. The safe’s closed for the night.” Please don’t take my tips, I hardly got anything tonight.  Maybe I shouldn’t have been as shocked to see familiar faces. Those two guys from all those nights ago, but where was their friend? I jabbed my elbow into the stomach of the one who snuck up behind me. It was the parking lot charmer. He grunted but it gave me enough time to run outside. The parking lot was completely empty, even my car was gone, which was very peculiar because I remember driving it here earlier.  I turned back to face my attackers, if i was going to get raped they were going to see it wasn’t worth the fight. “What the f**k do you want?” Parking Lot Stud turned to his friend and smiled, “That fighting spirit is cute isn’t it?” “Come on, it’s getting ridiculous.” The other one rolled his eyes and crouched down. I swore I could hear him snarl at me like a beast.  “Please don’t run, we really don’t want to do this the hard way.”  Hard way? What did he expect me to do? “How pathetic!” I yelled, “Where’s my car? What do you want?” THen from behind strong muscular arms wrapped around me while the other two pounced. The unknown assailant from behind lifted me off the ground while the other two grabbed my legs.  “f*****g Christ in heaven,” the one holding me up griped, “He had to pick a fighter didn’t he?”  “Damn it Obie!” Parking Lot guy screamed when my foot made contact with his face, “Get her under control.” “Let me go!” I continued to struggle but I felt a strong prick on my neck and before I knew it the fight that was in me died out. The world blurred as my eyes struggled to stay open The last thing I heard was from this Obie guy, “Vampire venom. It puts anything to sleep.” ------------------------------------------------- =Alaric= I knew the moment they jumped her. My stomach churned as she struggled for her life. She wondered if she was going to be raped, beaten, or killed and I couldn’t be there to help her. I couldn’t reassure her at all that she was going to be fine, she was going to be the safest she would ever be. “Dear.” My mother squeezed my shoulder as we all gathered around the table, “You would not have been helpful there. If anything you’d have fought them off to help her.” “Then where would you be?” My father finished. “It hurts now, but it’ll get better.” I know they are only looking out for my best interest, but that growing pain in my stomach was getting unbearable. It didn’t help that I hadn’t gotten a fair night's sleep since I met her. Which was another thing my mother was growing more agitated over.  “The pack understands your absence and that you’ll be inaccessible for the next few weeks.” My father always wanted to drive back the point to the business, “Your beta and gamma should only ever be allowed to see you in this state.” He was talking of course to the fact I was a complete wreck. My eyes were swollen from crying any time something went wrong for her, which was a lot. She was going through so much mentally in her life and I was just adding to the hurt. “Yeah, I know.” Before I was considered this strong powerful force of nature. I had earned my place as the next alpha. No one in the pack would ever dare to cross me. This little malpractice on my emotion’s part was completely unwarranted and vastly unappreciated.  “Cut him some slack. It’s rare that a human is an alpha’s mate.” My mother tensed massaging my shoulders hoping it would help, “The Goddess must have some big plans for you. You know how strong of a bond you two will have when you're the one to turn her?” That was another event I was not looking forward to. I was going to attack her, I was going to bite her, and I was going to be the one to cause her the harm. How could we ever come back from this? Why was I cursed with this cruel fate?  “Relax,” My father reached over and patted my hand clenched firmly on the table’s edge, “Not many wolves get to turn someone let alone their own mate. So just remember as long as she’s a human she’s in danger.” Yeah, she was in danger because of me. Once I heard the car pull up I jumped from my seat only to be forced back down by my mother who still had both hands on my shoulders and enough strength to overpower her alpha mate when needed. “Patience.” My mother whispered and started to rub my shoulders again, “She’s going to be well worth the wait.”
