WORN the specs by herself. “How’d you got this?” She asked him.

Nagkibit balikat si Theo. “Breakfast will be here soon, and I think I got to go, I still have an appointment to go to,” he said.

Napakurap ng mga mata si Chasty. She took steps away from him and looked around the room. “Ahm— Theo,” she uttered.

“Yes?” he responded.

“Since its all done,” she began. “Where will I—“ mabilis na nagsalita naman si Theo.

“Stay?” he asked her.

“Yeah,” she replied.

“Well may kailangan lang ako puntahan,” sabi nito. “And if its okay with you, susunduin kita right after the appoinment,” he told her.

“So you mean, I will stay here and wait for you?” she asked him.

“Exactly,” he replied.

Theo took his key and left Chas in the room.

Nakakunot ang noo ni Chas. “Gano’n na ‘yon? Pambihira, pwede naman sabihin niya— uy pwede ka muna gumala babalikan kita pag pagod ka na,” she rolled her eyes. In a little while the hotel staff delivered her breakfast. There so much to have this early kung kaya naman pinaiwan niya lang ang pagkain. She took her phone and lied on the bed. “I think I should make a call,” she said.

“Pero ano naman ang pag-uusapan namin kung sakali? I don’t even have his number— how funny,” she said.

BUONG maghapon ay nasa hotel lamang siya. Too hesitant to leave the place dahil sa iniiwasan na may makakita sa kaniya na mag-isa lang. It’s four in the afternoon and Theo got in the room.

Napatingin si Chas sa pinto.

“You ready?” he asked her.

“Why?”

“Coz I am taking you home,” sabi ni Theo.

“I see. Pwede ko ba daanan ang mga gamit ko sa bahay?” she asked him.

“Oh about that, ipinadala na nang yaya mo sa bahay,” sabi nito.

“How’d you know?” she asked him.

“Your Aunt told me,” he said.

Hindi nakaimik si Chas. Pero buong maghapon na wala siyang natatanggap na tawag o mensahe mula sa tita niya. Marahil napagod dahil sa event kahapon. Tumayo si Chas at dinampot ang handbag niya. They are heading to his mansion. Habang nasa byahe ay hindi man lang nila nagawa mag-usap. Theo is a smart guy, pero wala rin siyang interes na kilalanin si Chas.

“THERE we are,” he said.

“Where are we?” she asked.

“My house,” he said.

A two storey house so perfect for them to build an army.

“Halika at ipakikilala ko ang bago mong pamilya,” he told her. Bumaba si Theo at pinagbuksan si Chas. Her eyes traveled around. Its too big for them, she guess.

“What is mine, is yours,” he said. Ganoon na nga kung ikinasal na.

Pumasok sila ng bahay at naroon naghihintay ang isang kasambahay na may katandaan na.

“Kung may kailangan ka, sabihin mo lang,” sabi ni Theo. “You can roam around the house, pero huwag kang lalapit sa mga alaga ko sa likod. Napatango si Chasty.

Sumunod si Chasty sa kasambahay, doon ay inihatid ito sa kanyang kwarto. That room was Theo’s. Wide enough to shelter her at night, alone. Doon pa lang nakaramdam na siya ng lungkot. How will she survive nights and days alone?

“Maam tawagin niyo po ako kung may kailangan ka,” sabi niya.

“Ano nga ang pangalan mo?” Tanong ni Chasty

“Amelia po,” sabi naman nito.

“Salamat, Amelia. Pero—“

“Ano po ‘yon?”

“Ang mga gamit ko ba naihatid na?” Tanong ni Chas

“Kagabi po, hinatid mismo si Sir,” sagot nito.

“Sabi niya pinahatid?” Nagtaka niyang tanong sa sarili. He lied to her.

“I see, oo nga nasabi nga pala niya sa’kin,” inikot ni Chas ang tingin sa loob ng kwarto. Nag-ikot hanggang sa narating ang closet. Pinagbubuksan ang mga pinto at drawer to see what is in there. Looks like Theo wants everything in tact. Napatango siya “he’s neat, huh,” sambit niya. Hanggang sa sinubukan niya na buksan ang pinakailalim na drawer, but its lock. “Well maninirahan ako rito kasama ang mga ‘to,” she said.

Papalabas na sana siya ng closet but Theo is standing taking a look at her. She didnt notice him watching. Nagulat na napaatras si Chas ng isang hakbang. It’s a closed room and she feels like his stare suffocated her.

“I am sorry,” sabi niya.

“It’s fine, it’s yours too, you can open anything, check on anything,” he said.

That sounds good to her having the freedom to check on his things.

“You’ll stay here, and I will get going,” Theo said.

“What?”

Tumango si Theo at tumalikod ito. Mabilis naman na lumabas si Chas sa closet at hinawakan si Theo sa braso. That is the second time she touched him. Imagine, you are the wife yet you never had the chance to feel each other since you wed. But its no big deal with Chas, she already knew that romance is not a thing here, it’s business anyway.

Napatigil si Theo ng kilos at tiningnan pa ang braso niyo na hawak-hawak ni Chas. He turned around and Chas let go of his arm.

“Anything?” He asked her.

“It’s clear to me that we don’t cross each others line, but I want to know,” she uttered. “Yeah— exactly! I want to know if at least I could get a spot in the company, I want to work,” sabi nito.

“Well, I think that would be too much to ask from your family, putting you to work, I guess is a bad idea,” sabi niya.

“No! I insist,”

“You may take some time to think about it,” he said.

“I got to go, if you need something, feel free to ask Amelia, she is in charge,” sabi nito.

Hindi na umimik si Chasty. Anong buhay ang pinasok niya na hindi siya mapayagan na magtrabaho. Will she be staying in this house alone and she only got servants with her. The door shuts and she sat on the bed leaning her back to it and layed herself.

Napatitig na lang sa ceiling thinking of so many things. Her heart feels so lost now. Too many uncertainties awaits.

“Should I call, tita Lorin or dad?” She asked herself. Bumangon siya at kinuha ang phone niya. She is now calling Lorin. It rang but she did not pick it up. Chasty sighed and tried to call her girls in their chatroom. Now they pick up.

“Hoooo!” Sigaw ni Kaylee.

“So how was the night?” Kilig na tanong ni Belinda. Maingay ang dalawa na nagtitilian sa kabilang linya. Si belinda na kita ang balikat dahil mukhang nasa bathtub at si Kaylee naman na mukhang nasa gym dahil sa nag-uunat ito ng katawan.

“I dont know,” the words she replied to them.

“Anong hindi mo alam?” ani ni Belinda, “didn’t you two— you know! Tell us about it,” pag-uudyok nito.

Sumimangot si Chasty. “Kung anu-ano na naman ‘yan.”

“Oh come on, girl— you married a hot guy and you did nothing the whole night? Akala nga namin hindi ka na magpaparamdam dahil nag-eenjoy na kayo,” saad ni Kaylee.

“Walang nangyari,” sumbong niya.

Natahimk silang lahat. Walang nangyari at kahit halik o yakap ay wala.

“Oh poor girl,” sabi ni Belinda.

“Eh ano ang ginawa niyo? Nag-usap buong gabi?” tugon ni Kaylee.

“Girls walang mangyayari, okay? He is too distant and I think, he respects me kaya hindi niya sinubukan,” she answered.

“Ay baka hindi ka talaga type,” napangiwi si Belinda. “Sabi na sa’yo lumabas ka na sa box mo, magwala ka naman minsan. Masyado ka kasi reserved, tingnan mo, babaero ‘yan si Theo. I heard a lot of rumors about him, sinasabi ko sa’yo kahit sa mga chatroom ng other friends ko, usapan ang kasal niyo.”

“Belle lets not rush things, okay?” tanging nasagot ni Chas. “Tumawag ako kasi I asked him if I could work for the company, pero ayaw niya.”

“Oh one thing baka naman hinahanda ka lang para maging mommy, hindi ba?” Kinikilig na naman si Kaylee. “Ay sure talaga ako, hindi ka ginalaw, ayaw ka pagtrabahuin, perfect husband si Theo.”

“Youre crazy!”

“Nasaan ka ba?” tanong ni Belinda.

“Nasa bahay niya,”

Nagtatalin si Kaylee sa tuwa. “Oh my gosh dinala ka na sa bahay niya. Girl sinasabi ko sayo maligo ka na at mag-ayos! I can feel it!” kinikilig pa rin si Kaylee na parang walang mapglagyan ng sarili.

“Cut it off! Puro kayo kalokohan. Don’t!” saad ni Chasty.

“Take a shower wear something thin and forget about your underwears,” halaklhak ang tugon ng dalawa matapos sabihin ni Belinda.
