Chapter 15

[Ryder]

Most people had gone outside to turn, but I was still here. Where is my mate? I ran for the door, but was stopped by Alpha and Xavier (Darius’ wolf). They are trying to keep me from her. I want my mate! I growled at them, giving them one last chance to move out of my way. No one could keep me from my mate. No one moved. My anger rose. Then I snapped. I dug my claws into Xavier until he rolled over in an attempt to buck me off. I scratched at his chest several times, not stopping at his weak whimpers. I was just about to go for the kill when I hear my name screamed. “Ryder stop!” Serena yelled. I turned around and my heart skipped a beat . I bounded towards my mate who took a little step back. I skidded to a halt, staring at her confused. Was she scared of me? She rushed past me towards Xavier. I growled lowly, but that did little to stop her.

“Ok Darius, I don’t know what your wolfs name is, but I’m going to put pressure on your wounds okay? “ I asked him softly. He shook his head slightly and tried to get up, but whimpered and layed back down. “You are loosing too much blood to heal. Let me stop the bleeding and then your body will heal” I explained and finally he agreed. Slowly, I placed my hands over the wounds and pushed firmly. He growled and snapped his teeth at me, causing me to flinch slightly. Ryder was immediately at my side and snarling at him. “Hey it’s ok. You’ll be healed before you know it” I soothed Darius and after about ten minutes I removed my hands to see it his chest all healed. I turned and saw the alpha staring at me as I walked to the door and let them out. Ryder stayed right by my side and instead of going out, he followed me to the bathroom where I washed all the blood off. I then proceeded to grab a damp paper towel and wipe the blood off his fur to which he playfully growled. “ Come on let’s go outside” I stated and we left to go outside where I saw about 100 wolves. I stoped and indicated for Ryder to join them. He huffed and after a minute slowly walked away to join them. I watched as Ryder stood near his parents at the front. I turned to go back inside, almost feeling like I shouldn’t be there. Before I could even take a step, Ryder was by my side and knocking his head against my legs. “I’ll be fine, go. I’m just going to go inside” I said quietly. He growled at me and kept pushing me towards the wolves, who were all staring over at us. “ Ok I’m here, I promise I’m not leaving” I stated and he pushed me away from the door one more time before rejoining his pack. This time his eyes didn’t leave mine. I smiled slightly and watched the interactions between all the wolves. There were some mates l*****g each other and other more boisterous wolves knocking each other around. Darius had made his way to Ryder and they started play fighting, clearly there were no hard feelings between them. All of a sudden the alpha let out a piercing howl and everyone stopped. It shocked me so my heart was beating so fast. Ryder’s eyes diverted to mine in panic and scoured over my body. When he decided I was fine his tensed body relaxed again.
