Chapter 17

[Alex]

I woke up in the forest, laying n***d behind Serena who was still peacefully sleeping. My hands lightly traced her gorgeous face and her eyes fluttered open. “Good morning beautiful” I murmured against her neck.

“Beautiful? I probably look like I’ve been dragged through a bush backwards. There’s probably a chance that I was” she chuckled.

“I can’t make any promises” I laughed as we started getting up. *I would never drag mate through a bush* Ryder growled.

“Oh my god!” Serena squealed and turned to face the tree.

“What? Are you hurt? Are you ok? “ I panicked.

“Everyone’s n***d!” She replied and I couldn’t help but growl. I am not having her look at any other n***d men. I lifted her up and she burried her head into my chest as I quickly carried her up to my bedroom, not stopping once until we got there. I lightly set her down on the bed and she kept her eyes covered. “You can look at me, you know. I’m all yours” I smirked but she just blushed and kept her eyes covered.

I loved how fun Alex was being this morning, he was in a really good mood. Once he had put some clothes on and I brushed my hair I realised that I had left my bag somewhere over the course of last night. Shyly I asked “can I borrow some clothes please? I mean just until I find my stuff—“

“Of course you can. Ryder is already going crazy about you asking, let alone when you are wearing them” Alex interrupts. He hands me a t-shirt, jogging bottoms and a hoodie. As I changed he told me what he had to do today saying “Ryder runs training now and I am not ready to let you go yet can you come with?”

“Of course” I said while walking out of the bathroom, immediately his eyes darkened, letting me know that Ryder was close to surfacing.

“You look amazing in my clothes” he stated huskily.

“Thanks” I blushed and continued “ Don’t we have to get to training?”

“Ummm yeah, come on” Alex said leading me out towards the fields.

Just before we encountered all the men Ryder took control.

[Ryder]

“Hello mate” I drawled out.

“Hi Ryder” she replied, fiddling absentmindedly with her hair.

“When we get out there let me just warn you I’m not soft with them like I am with you. Don’t get scared, ok?” I spoke softly and pulled her into me for a quick kiss. Then I lead her out to the field. Immediately all them men stood straight and stared at us. “No one is to look at my mate” I roared and all their eyes were on the floor. I felt Serena flinch a little, but I lightly squeezed her hand. “Ok I want 100 push-ups” I growled and everyone got to work. I walked around, inspecting everyone’s form and making sure their eyes were far from my mate. Until I caught one of them staring at my mate and I saw red.

Ryder was horrible to everyone and I finally understood why everyone was so scared of him. Everything was going so well until I made eye contact with one of the warriors. “Get your eyes off my mate” Ryder spat as he kicked the warrior to the floor. I gasped and the warrior looked up to me again with pleading eyes. Everyone had stopped and was staring at the commotion, but no one dared to look in my direction. Ryder continued beating the poor warrior as I made my way over. The whimpers coming from the warrior made my heart break and so I rushed forward to stop another blow. I threw myself on top of him, without thinking, and ended up getting punched in the back of the head instead. I screamed and that seemed to wake Ryder up from his rage induced trance. His eyes widened as he stared at me and then his fist. My head was throbbing and I couldn’t help but let the tears run down my face. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t see you. I would never hurt you” he whimpered and started to bend down to touch me.

“Don’t “ I managed as I pulled myself up with a groan and then helped up the beaten warrior. Ryder’s eyes darted to where I gripped the warriors forearm and a low growl left his throat. “We are going to go to the pack doctor. You stay here” I stated emotionless and both me and the warrior made our way back to the pack house. On our way back we heard Ryder roar” f**k! Get back to work” I was starting to black out and I finally couldn’t fight it anymore. Darkness finally took over me. “Luna, Luna wake up” I heard a panicked voice say while holding me up. Within seconds Ryder was there. “Serena I’m so sorry. I will never forgive myself for this” Ryder’s soft voice whimpered.
