Chapter 29: When You're Talking to Your Girls … (2 of 2)

“Let’s just keep distance from the water as much as possible.” Troye uttered. “Probably the table near the stage is ideal.”

“If you’re planning on to something just spill it now.” Alessia looking suspicious at Troye.

“I don’t have any. I’m just saying that the music is louder in front and it’s the farthest from the water.” Troye shrugged nonchalantly.

“I wish I know if you’re lying or not.” Alessia still hesitant to believe Troye’s words. “You didn’t connive with Luke, right?”

“No, since when did I lie to you Alessia? I may conceal the truth but I never tell a lie.” Troye smiling at Alessia.

“Well you’re right, you never lied to me even once so I believe you.”

There are 3 tables each at the left and right side of the stage all good for 4 people to share so Pluto shared a table with us while the table across us is for the band to use.

They left the center open for the dance floor since everyone is expected to dance the night away.

There’s also a party nearby but their distance is enough for us to have our own private party.

The Aussie boys come up on stage without further ado as soon as we all got our tables and for the start, they only played a soft music while we’re having our dinner like they’re having a rehearsal.

“Did you guys already have dinner?” I asked Luke and the others since they’re just a meter or two away from our table.

“Yeah, don’t worry about us. This is your party; you should enjoy with the others.” Michael replied since he’s on the side near our table.

As soon as the band had their rehearsal and everyone’s done with dinner, the real party started.

They played their own songs and covered some western and Korean songs as everyone danced the night away.

We danced and got drunk until we all dropped to bed like we’re completely wasted.

The morning I woke up there’s an arm embracing me, I thought it was Alessia and we slept in the same bed but when I looked at the other bed there was Alessia sleeping soundly.

“Then who …” I turned around to face whom I slept with and when I found out, I just screamed on top of my lungs. “AAAAAAHHH!”

“What the …?!” Pluto fell down from the bed. “Why are you being so loud first thing in the morning?!!”

“What? What’s happening??” Alessia sit up immediately.

“Can you please keep quiet?!” Troye beside Alessia cover his head with pillow. “My head is killing me.”

“What are you doing in my bed?!!” I yelled at Pluto as I checked myself if I’m still wearing my clothes and if I’m in pain anywhere.

“Hey! I didn’t do anything inappropriate to you!” Pluto get back to bed. “Stop being paranoid. We literally just slept in one bed, and I’m still sleepy until now so please shut your mouth!” he laid down again and turned his back against me to continue his sleep.

“What happened last night, Alessia?” I turned to Alessia who’s still half asleep while leaning on the headboard of the bed. “Alessia!”

“H-Huh? Uhm … these two gave their room to Ashton and others.”

“Then we should at least share the same bed and these two too?!” I exclaimed. “Why the hell I’m sharing a bed with Pluto??!”

“Did he take advantage of you??” Alessia looking at me with heavy eyes. “If he does, I’ll help you kill him.”

“Well, I’m still wearing my clothes and I don’t feel anything weird with my body aside from my hangover.” I replied.

“Then Pluto is a real gentleman. I really can’t take it; I still want to sleep let’s talk about it later.” Alessia lay down in her bed again without a care around her.

“But …” I also want to go back to sleep but I’m wide awake now because of this man beside me. “How come we ended up sleeping in one bed?” I muttered while looking at Pluto’s back.

Pluto was embracing me like I’m his body pillow, what if he touched me when I was sleeping? It’s possible and I’m unaware of it.

It’s fine if Pluto was like Troye but he’s a straight man and he got feelings for me, what if he took advantage of me last night?

I got out from bed and took a bath to check my body and somehow relieved myself from hangover.

“Guardian … you kept me safe last night, right?” trying to talk to my angel who’s guarding me all the time. “Can you answer me, please?”

But I heard and felt nothing like he purposely ignored me.

I’m the first one who woke up so I had breakfast first without waiting for anyone to join me since I know everyone are pretty much wasted that they might got up late from bed.

I wandered around the villa for a while and muster up my courage to get near the shore but I regretted it right away.

“Look guys, I can’t accept everyone’s request but if you want to cross over then I know someone to reap all of you.” curling myself like a ball as I’m being surrounded by restless spirits as of the moment.

“Do you want to swim I can clear up the lane for you?” a man’s voice spoke to me that send chills all over my body.

“Are you being generous right now?” I look around to see who I’m talking to but I only see the silhouette behind me.

“I’m supposed to grant you a birthday wish this year but if you want to advance it then I’ll do it for you.” the voice replied.

“Then I wish to be normal, I don’t want to see horrible things anymore.” I responded to him while looking up even if I see nothing.

“That’s beyond me, I can be a reaper for you today that means no soul can bother you since I’m reaping them.” the voice stated.

“Just for today? Can’t you do it for the rest of my life??” trying to negotiate with him.

“It doesn’t work like that. So, what do you say should I be a reaper for you today?” the voice insisting his offer.

“Tell me honestly, you wanted to be a reaper because there’s a lot of soul you can get by the beach aside from cemetery, right?”

“You got me. There’s competition in the cemetery but I’m here alone and you’re attracting these souls towards you. I know I’m a guardian but my second job as a reaper wants to take control as of the moment. So, do we have an accord?” the voice becomes deeper.

“Fine, reap as much as you want.” I closed my eyes tightly.

“Keep your eyes shut whatever you hear or feel don’t open them.”

I don’t know what he does when he reaps souls but I can hear everything that somewhat made me tremble in fear and feel cold around me like I’m in a huge freezer.

“Done. It’s all cleared now.” the voice stated.

“Hah … Hah …” I’m catching my breath as I chase for the sunlight to give me warm. “Is that the reason you don’t want me around when you reap souls?”

“Uh-huh. Just stay under the sun for a while you’ll get your temperature back in no time.” the voice responded.

“Come to think of it, this is the first time we have a long conversation but still I don’t know your name yet.” I lay down on the sand like a starfish.

“Emolga.” the voice uttered.

“Emolga, that’s a cute name for an angel of death.” I laughed at him.

“I don’t usually talk a lot and say my name to human unless they’re dead but you’re an exception.” Emolga replied.

“Can’t you make yourself visible to me like what you did on my 14th birthday? Be it in human form or your true form?”

“I can’t, I can only show myself to you when I’m giving you a mission.”

“Then don’t show up anymore. I’m good seeing your shadow and talking to you like this.” still traumatized of what happened before.

“Hahaha. We didn’t have to be that way if only you said yes immediately but you were resisting.” he replied.

“Why did you make me do that anyway??” trying to get an answer.

“Desa?” Alessia walked up to me and shaded me from the sun. “Who are you talking to??”

“Emolga. My guardian angel of death.” I sit up and look around. “Well he’s completely invisible again and he probably won’t talk now that I’m not alone anymore.”

“You can be this close to water now?” she sits beside me.

“Uh-huh. Emolga cleared up the lanes for me, he just reaped all the souls earlier so I think we can enjoy the beach now like everyone else. Should we go for a swim and other water activities?” I excitedly asked.

“Hmm … Emolga is being cooperative to you today huh?” she smiles at me. “Did you bring a swimsuit?”

“No. Even if I don’t see spirits, I won’t wear a swimsuit and exposed my body. I’m good with this shirt and short as my swimwear.”

“Then shall we go to the water now??” Alessia stand up and extend her hand to me.

“Mmm.” I nodded as I take her hand. “But you’re still wearing pants.”

“Ah right, I should at least take it off.” she takes off her pants and let her large white shirt covered her body. “Let’s go!”

“Do you know how to swim, Alessia??” getting in the water with her.

“No. Let’s stay where we can reach the ground on our feet.” she said.

“Good idea. I don’t know how to swim either.” walking further as the waves hit our body. “I forgot to apply sunscreen.”

“Does it matter now?!” Alessia laughed at me. “We’re already here.”

“Hahaha. I don’t care anymore if we get sunburn or what. This is my first time to enjoy the sea.” laughing along with her.

“Girls! What’s happening??!” Troye looking at us with curiosity.

“Can’t you see? We’re here in the water Troye.” Alessia replied.

“I don’t understand. How come?” Troye coming at us. “Also, aside from the sea creatures around us, I don’t sense any spirits at all.”

“My guardian angel of death made it possible for us. We can enjoy the beach for today like everyone else.” I pulled Troye closer and get on his back. “You can swim right?”

“Hey, Desa you’re heavy get off from my back!” Troye taking my hands off from him.

“I’m not heavy it’s you who’s skinny!” pouting at him.

It hasn’t been too long that it’s just us three enjoying the beach others joined us in less than an hour and the next thing we know the boys made the summer hotter than ever because of their bodies.

“I knew it Calum is the muscleman among them.” Troye standing between me and Alessia as we look at the boys.

“I feel sorry for Luke standing between those guys.” Alessia laughs. “He’s so skinny yet he still wants to show off his body.”

“Hahaha. Just let him be he got that handsome face anyway.” I said.

“Ooh … Look at that sexy man.” Troye turned his head to Pluto.

“Yummy.” Alessia even complimented Pluto’s body. “So damn hot.”

I suddenly remembered that I woke up with Pluto’s arm embracing me and seeing him half naked made me feel so weird, like I want to be close to his body again.

He probably sensed that I’m looking at him so I averted his gaze immediately and turned around but a wave welcomed me.

I got washed away in an instant, I leaned on to something sturdy to stand up again but since when there is a wall at the shore.

I turned around to look behind me and it’s Pluto standing like a statue looking at me with a cunning smile on his face.

“I tried so hard not to touch you while you’re sleeping but you’re touching me now, Desa.” Pluto smirking at me.

“I … I didn’t mean to.” I take my hands off him. “You were standing there, right? How come you’re here?!”

“I saw you washed away by the wave, I figured you need some help.”

“Well, I didn’t drown so I’m fine.” getting out from the water. “Oh, look I’m tan now.” looking at my arms.

“You didn’t apply sunblock before you swim?” he followed me to the shade where the staff prepared snacks and drinks for us.

“We skipped it.” sits on the chair to take a rest. “Is this watermelon juice?” take one of the cold juices on the table. “Mmm. That’s refreshing.” I glanced at him who sit silently beside me. “You’re not going to swim?” drinking again.

“Later.” he points at the glass telling me to get it for him.

“Here.” handed him the juice. “Is it true? You really didn’t take advantage of me while I’m sleeping?” giving him an anxious look.

“I’m not that kind of man. I told you I can wait. Why did you pushed me out from bed anyway?!” he frowned at me.

“You were embracing me like I’m your body pillow, what do you expect me to do? Enjoy being in your arm?!” I said sarcastically.

“You don’t like being in my arms?” looking at me lustfully. “You were hugging me too last night, you know.”

“No way! You’re kidding right?! Why would I hug you??” looking at him in disbelief. “There’s no way I hugged you.” shaking my head.

“Oh yes you did. Ask Troye if I’m lying.” he points at Troye who’s coming at our direction with Alessia. “Troye, Desa hugged me, right? Alessia you saw it too. You two are my witnesses.”

“Well you’re drunk Desa and you might think that I’m Pluto and we’re sharing the bed together. You’re actually a hugger when you sleep.” Alessia gave her testimony as she takes a glass of juice on the table.

“Pluto isn’t lying and I agree with Alessia you hugged me before too when the three of us were sleeping at your attic apartment before.” Troye also had me cornered with his statement.

“Did I really …?” I memory suddenly played in my head.

I hugged him and even put my legs around him like he’s a life-sized teddy bear. “Oh gosh!” my face turned red automatically. “I did that?!” shaking my head.

“So, you remembered what you did to me last night?” Pluto smiling at me teasingly. “I thought you were pertaining to a man but I figured that you’ve taken me as your teddy bear.”

“Stop!” giving him a stop sign with my hand. “I’m drunk so I didn’t know what I’m doing. I already get it. I’m the one who took advantage of you last night.” I look at the opposite direction. “Thank you for being a gentleman.”

“Are you talking to me? Why are you looking at your left when I’m at your right? Also, did I hear you right? You’re thanking me??”

“Urgh! Fine!” I turn to face him. “Thank you! You just proved to me that I can trust you and you won’t take advantage of the situation.”

“You’re welcome. I respect you Desa, so I won’t do anything without your permission.” he smiles at me and drink his juice again.

“Actually, I should be the one sleeping next to Pluto but Alessia pinned me down on the bed so I got no choice but to sleep next to this girl.” Troye pouting.

“You’re my savior, Alessia.” Pluto saluting Alessia.

“Ah, so you’re the one who assisted me to our bedroom?” Alessia smiles at Troye. “I didn’t know that you can carry me, Troye.”

“Well, I only took you when we reached the bedroom but from here at the beach to the bedroom door, it’s Luke.” Troye uttered.

“Seriously, I thought it was you?” Alessia furrows her brows. “Come to think of it, there’s no way you’ll carry me at your back.”

“Of course. Why would I break my back for you?!” Troye exclaimed.

“Alessia.” Luke suddenly appeared. “Did you sleep well last night?”

“You carried me at your back last night?!” Alessia yelled at him. “What were you thinking?! You’re a model Luke! Does your back hurts? I’m quite heavy.” massaging Luke’s back. “Don’t do that again!”

“I want to keep you safe so it doesn’t matter if I’m hurt.” Luke said.
