Werloth POV:
My name is Werloth Lithron, I’m an elf and I’m the King of the Elven people.
20 years ago, I agreed on getting a chosen mate. My people were longing for a Queen in the Elves Realm.
A queen’s duty was very important to us and we always deemed it. I was waiting for my fated mate but somehow I wasn’t lucky enough to find her.
I decided to take an Elf’s Sparring and Archery Competition and the winner would get to be my chosen one. We needed a strong Queen that wouldn’t run away from a fight and be there for the Elven People.
The competitors were very weak and an Elf named Melian stood out. She wasn’t a royal, so she didn’t have any psychic powers, but she could control one of the elements. We got to know each other for some months until I decided to make her the one.
I asked her to wait for 20 years and she would learn a Queen’s duty little by little. I gave her a room in my castle and she was responsible for our servants and for honoring our soldiers, at first.
She did a great job and I finally taught her some ruling duties and so on.
She tried to seduce me many times but I just couldn’t. I felt bad for her and guilty sometimes. She looked like she really wanted to be with me.
Royal elves are known to have a single relationship in our life, our fated one, but I couldn’t make my people wait for their Queen anymore.
It’s been centuries since I became their King, so I was determined that after 20 years, I’d mate and mark her and she’d be a Queen. Once a Queen, there’s no going back. I would mark her so I wouldn’t take any chances.
The day is coming.
We were at my office at night and I was lost in my thoughts.
“King Werloth, I’m so happy we will complete our bond. I might not be your fated mate, but I love you as much. I’ll rule this realm by always caring, listening and respecting our people like I’ve been doing over the last 2 decades, as your chosen one. I’m ready for it”, Melian told me, and I smiled at her.
“I know you will, thank you for always standing for me” I replied to her.
We’ve been together for about 20 years now and, as I promised, I would mate and mark her as my chosen one soon.
She was strong and cared for the realm indeed, she already took some duties as the Queen and I made her wait for way too long.
I didn’t have any hope holding me back that I would find my mate after so many centuries.
I decided I would pick a day for Melian's coronation a few months ago, and the day will be the day after tomorrow.
We’d mate and mark each other by tomorrow’s night. There’s no going back.
I’ve already sent all the invitations to our allies about 3 months ago.
She was a beautiful elf and she loved me. We'd tried to mate before but I just couldn’t do it, I felt like it was never the right time, I couldn’t even kiss her properly, it just didn’t feel right.
I still feel this way, but I understand it’s because she’s not my fated one, she’s my chosen one and I had little to no expectations that my fated one would find me.
I guess the Goddess wishes for me to be with Melian. I didn’t have any of those expectations anymore, so I was ready.
The Kings all over the realms have a Royal Meeting once a year and the last meeting, three months ago, Alice and Liam, the Queen and King of Dragons, wanted to talk to me.
I invited them to come tomorrow. I’ve been really busy preparing for Melian’s coronation.
Alice and Liam have four children. Their first children were the twins, Luke and Angeline.
Alice got kidnapped by the wicked group Sixforce, but she was able to escape with her mother’s help. She was also part of that group, and so was my father, Arathorn.
He's nowhere to be seen after the Sixforce got defeated.
When Alice was back, she was distressful and already in labor.
I remember, until nowadays, when Luke and Angeline were born, I was there for them. I just felt like I should.
Angeline was stillborn. I panicked and I quickly held her in my arms and lulled her for a few seconds. The life went back to her tiny little body.
I felt protective over her, she kept crying nonstop until I handed her parents my mother’s handkerchief.
Angeline stopped crying at the same time.
From that day on, I felt like having a child was what I most wanted in my life.
We were fully focused on our own realm. Recently, we finally had some peace.
Alice and Liam were good friends of mine. We always met at the Royal Meetings, but for obviously reason, only the King and the Queen attended, the last one, Luke also joined them.
For he’ll be the next King.
We could bring hope and happiness to the Elves again.
“I’m so excited, you know how long I’ve been waiting for our moment to come” Melian told me, snapping out of my thoughts.
“I won’t make you wait anymore, Melian”, I told her before I hugged her and kissed her forehead.
“I love you Werloth, I always had and always will, I will always fight for your love” she said, cupping my face and I pressed my lips against her.
“It still doesn’t feel right” I thought, but yet it was and I would fight myself to love her and be a perfect mate for her. I masked my uneasiness with a smile.
I heard someone knocking on the door and entering my office.
“King Werloth, King Liam and Queen Alice had already confirmed their presence as soon as they received the invitations three months ago. But now it seems like they want to confirm their twins, Luke Venctury’s and Angeline Venctury’s presence for tomorrow’s afternoon”, my second in command, Balin, said.
“Wonderful news, Balin, thank you so much” I replied.
He nodded and left.
Tomorrow night is the night I will mate and mark Melian. But I was not in a rush, I would attend my friends and I would do it when they made their way to sleep in the guest room.
I’d invite them to stay for the night. They are living in the Human Realm now and I want the next days to be pleasant.
“You’re welcome, Sir. Also, Queen Alice told me to give this letter to you”, Balin said, handing me over an envelope.
I was curious and couldn’t hold back a smile. I opened it and read:
“King Werloth, thank you for the invitation tomorrow
I wish we could have kept in touch more
But we were so busy and dealing with too many kids wasn’t an easy task either
I guess dealing with villains was way easier. My kids are all grown up now, thanks Goddess
I want to let you know what I’ll be taking Luke and Angeline with us
I hope it won’t be a problem
And about what I wanted to talk about in the last meeting, I just wanted to ask you a favor
My daughter Angeline has grown to be very strong
She has always loved archery, ever since I could remember
I’m just wondering if you could find someone to teach her properly. She asked me to teach her and I tried to but Liam and I were too busy around the company
Also, we want to take Luke ever since he’s the future King. We want him to be familiar with all the events

I smiled, that letter was so Alice’s kind of letter.
Of course, I would teach archery to Angeline. I would do it myself.
It’s the consideration I have for them.

Angeline POV:
“Thank you, mom, I understand you and dad are busy with the company”. I thanked my mom for the thousandth time already.
“Don’t worry Angel, you’ll love King Werloth, he is so calm and he will find an elf to teach you in a better way than I could ever do. I'd learned with him when I was about to get myself into trouble at the Royal Pack”. My mom laughed loudly.
I love to hear her laughing like that and, as far as she won’t get physically older, I feel like she’s my best friend, so like my dad and especially my grandpa Randall, I couldn’t help myself but chuckle.
“We will leave at 3:00pm tomorrow, all right?” my mom asked me and I startled.
“Mom, I thought we would be leaving tomorrow night. I made plans with Bella”. I told her.
What does she mean by tomorrow’s afternoon?
“Ouch, I’m sorry, I forgot to tell you, the coronation day for the King’s chosen one is the day after tomorrow. It’s been a while since we have met him and your dad and I wanted to talk to him about you and also spend some time with him before he mates and marks her. We need to congratulate him properly. Bella and Andrea will flash to the Elves Realm on the coronation’s day”, mom said.
I understand that he might be lonely and the Elves' pressure on their King might be harsh, but having someone as a chosen mate doesn’t make sense at all.
Their feelings should be more important than duties, but who knows what’s going on inside an elf’s mind?
Aren’t Elves supposed to be wise and close to the Goddess and everything?
I had no clue, all I knew was that training was getting me real good, my powers were overflowing.
“We’ll be stronger than ever in no time” my dragon Delphyne told me in my mind.
We’ve been living in the Human Realm all this time, but I love to flash to my grandpa’s pack house, I'd been doing that a lot in the past month. He’s a wolf and an Alpha, a very powerful one, and I can use the training field and train properly.
All I want is to be stronger.
My mom is a Hybrid, her father is a wolf and her mother was a witch.
Grandma died to save my mom’s life.
I can’t use much of my magic in the human realm and in the packhouse, I could feel more like myself.
Me, Luke and our sister are planning to reclaim the Dragon’s Realm. That is something we have been craving ever since we were kids.
We had our little plan but we needed to be stronger than anyone else and we needed to have allies.
I didn’t have the time to think about men. I wanted my mate and that’s it.
I wouldn’t run looking for him like other women do when they come of age, especially in the human realm where humans don’t have a fated one. They all had a chosen one and that was evidence that it wouldn’t work at all for me.
It was all or nothing to me and until now it was always a big and loud NOTHING.
“Mom, do you think it would be rude if I made it to the Elves Realm at night?” I asked her with pleading eyes.
“Fine, I’ll warn King Werloth that you will get a little late, he’s cool, I don’t think he’d mind” she said, and I almost jumped excited.
“Only you and Luke will go, okay?” She asked and I got confused.
“Why is that?” I asked.
“Well, because Luke is the future King and you have to be there to get to know King Werloth, he’ll have to get to know you, you’ll be staying there to learn archery, remember?”
I was so excited. Elves are very good at archery and I've wanted to learn for years. I took some classes in the human realm but it was all so superficial.
At least, my little sister Bella and I can use some trains tomorrow like we planned.
I nodded at her and made it to Bella’s bedroom.
“Bella, I talked to mom, can you believe she swapped the time for the meeting with King Werloth tomorrow? She said it would be in the afternoon but I’ll be going to the Elves Realm at night. We are still going to have our training”, I smiled at her.
“Yay, thank Goddess mom doesn’t make us go to those meetings. We got to go for the coronation though. That sounds kind of boring, I'd rather stay in the house reading my steamy books” she said, smiling, spinning her red rose around her fingers, and I laughed.
“Aren’t you really young to be reading such books? You’re only 14, little girl. And well, in my case, I have no other option. I will try to be an excellent student.” I told her, determined.
“I have to be prepared when I find my mate” she giggled, “I hope you find your mate on the coronation day”, she told me.
“Let’s see, I think there will be a lot of people from all over the Realms” I told her back and my dragon, Delphyne, also got excited by this thought.
“I wish I was 18 already” Bella said and I chuckled.
I made my way out to eat, shower and get some rest.
The next day, mom and dad left while I was training Bella. After some time, Bella glanced at the clock, grabbed her towel and was about to leave.
We were both panting and Bella was really strong for a 14-year-old girl.
“Where are you going?” I asked her.
“What? It’s 7:00pm already, I’m going to take a long bath and read a book or watch some movie. Didn’t you have a king to meet?” she teasingly asked me as I rolled my eyes at her.
But she was right. I was late. I rushed to take a shower, put my lotion all over my body and I decided to wear a fancy dark blue tulle strapless dress. The hem of the dress was above my knees and I put on black high-heel sandals.
Now, my hair.
I had no idea what I should be doing about it.
I have to reach Dea.
She’s the one who understands everything about fashion.
