Four: "It's called The Forever Union. It's not coming off "
There was no way. Again, I was doubting my eyes, or my brain's ability to interpret the images in front of my eyes.
"I was worried you would not remember your own brother's face, and his voice. But you didn't disappoint." He stood up and closed the curtain, making the room darker.
"Why am I here?" I asked him, trying to break myself free.
"Oh, I forgot about those!" He said before he pulled a key out from his pocket and removed the three handcuffs from me, freeing me.
I had no idea what to say to him. He had really, really changed from the last time I saw him.
He was taller, more muscular like he had been training ten hours a day every single day, and his face... When did he get so handsome?
I mean, he was always handsome, but this was next level.
Strands of his blonde hair fell in front of his eyes as he leaned towards me again and helped me sit up.
"I don't know why I am here, but let me go. I am not going back to be with Jack!" That's what it was about, wasn't it?
"Good! Because you are going to be my wife now." He reminded me when he grabbed my hand and showed me the big diamond ring.
I immediately tried to take it off, failing.
"The more you tug at it, is the tighter it gets. It's called the forever union. It's not coming off unless you cut your finger off, that's how I had them design it." He said to me with a smirk on his face. I tried cracking my head to figure out what he really wanted from me but I couldn't. I came out blank each time.
"I am not marrying anyone, ever! Nobody is breaking my heart ever again." I spoke with a low tuned voice and my face down. Something about him intimidated me so much that I just couldn't look at him.
We were never close growing up, he was always doing some form of hard work somewhere. He was always mysterious and never really had any girlfriend in high school. The only time I was able to he within his presence was when he drove me home from school, and we did not even talk much.
"Who said anything about getting hearts involved?" He asked, sitting right next to me on the bed.
"I only need one thing from you. Get your s**t together and get back at that asshole. I hope you realise, I am the only real shot you have at revenge." He said to me, confusing me.
Weren't he and Jack always so close? I found it hard to believe that he was being serious about this. He had to be in on it with Jack.
"I don't believe you! You and Jack are playing a trick on me." I said to him before standing.
"Please, Alpha Kane, let me go." I tried to take the ring off again but it seemed he was not lying. The more I tried to take it off was the tighter it got.
"Sit down and listen to me." He said to me and I had to stop the tears from welling up in my eyes when I remembered Jack's words.
"Good luck finding someone that will actually want you!" They hurt so bad.
"Basic body!" he called me, and when I remembered Charlotte's big, bouncy breast and her curved waist, it made sense even more.
"You don't actually want to marry me, I know you don't want to be with the Cursed half witch!" I said to him before quickly wiping the tears off my face.
"Is that how lowly you think of yourself?" He cupped my face, his eyes searching mine.
I nodded my head, as embarrassing as it sounded.
"This is exactly why you should never spend years chasing something that clearly doesn't want you." he quickly turned my face to the side and his brows furrowed together.
"What happened here? Did anyone hit you?" He asked me, the tone of his voice suddenly going dark. I had heard more words from him just within these few minutes than I feel like I have ever heard before.
I quickly covered the side of my face with my hand and sleeve of my hoodie.
"No, I hit myself on the train." I lied to him and he saw right through me.
"Who did it? Was it Jack?" He demanded snd I shook my head.
"Don't lie for him, Paige!" He urged before he turned my face to the side again to get a good look.
"You're f*****g purple and you want me to believe a f*****g train and your clumsiness did this to you?" He questioned, sounding angry.
"It was his father, Alpha Bane." I finally confessed.
Since when did he care so much? I had not seen him since he went into training when he turned sixteen. Back then, my life was not that bad. But then, the bullying started in school and everyone that I thought was my friend abandoned.
"Don't call him that! I'm your Alpha, not him." He cussed beneath his breath after letting my face go.
I slowly nodded my head. I hope I was not going to get myself into trouble by telling him what I had told him.
"You have a week to get yourself out of this rut. You will stay here with me and leave with me on the day I get inaugurated." Everything he was saying confused me more and more. He opened a shelf and pulled out some papers before throwing them on the bed with a pen.
"Sign this agreement that states you will marry me and be my loving wife in front of the public. What happens behind closed doors doesn't matter." He waited for me and I just froze.
"Does this mean we will be married?"I asked him, my eyes desperately searching his.
"No, it just means you'll be forced to marry me two weeks from now and I will declare you as my fiancé when I make my return, you cannot go against the agreement." He explained to me and everything just froze.
When I took too long, he stood behind me, making me clear my throat when his bare chest touched my back.
"Sign it." He whispered from behind me and I swallowed hard before grabbing the pen. I signed my name, with a trembly hand before I let out a huge breath when he took the papers and walked away.
"So you had really planned this for some time? I saw the date on the papers. Two months ago? What if Jack didn't cheat on me?" I questioned and he slowly smirked at me.
"The only valid question should be, what if you didn't find out that he was cheating on you. You are the only one that didn't know that he has been with Charlotte for four years." He said to me and my heart started beating fast.
There was no way I was a fool for that long.
"What would you know? You weren't even here when we established our mate bond!" I immediately got defensive and he walked towards me again before grabbing my chin with his fingers.
"You are going to have to do better than that if you want to get back at him. Even if you don't, I do, so just cooperate and remember, he never loved you." The words hurt me deeply, but he was right. I knew he was right, I just didn't know if I was build for this.
