Three: "You should start running now, maybe you'll finally find your wolf!"
I spent the night crying in my room. I had not eaten or even made my presence known to anyone after returning. I thought sleeping it off would make it hurt less but it didn't. When I woke up in the morning, I immediately wanted out of my room.
As soon as I stepped out of the room, I was welcomed by the amused faces of Nia and Gina, Jack's younger sisters.
"Look! She was crying the whole night, her eyes are so puffy and ugly!" Nia, the one to soon turn eighteen laughed in my face.
"You can't be serious, Paige! You really didn't know? All those years of Alpha Nile treating you like his favourite child definitely made you more dumb than I ever imagined!" Gina said to me, her arms crossed above her chest.
I had no words for them, the only thing I wanted to do was walk past them but they wouldn't let me.
"Where do you think you are going? You have a history class to attend. See, my brother hates you but unfortunately he still has to marry you so get your ass to class, you will have to be part of the council soon!" Nia yelled at me. They both looked so much like Jack. His brown hair and brown eyes that had so much life to them had been passed down to both his sisters. Seeing them already made my insides churn.
"Let me go!" I said to them both before I finally shoved them and walked down the stairs.
I could hear them dramatically calling for their father as I made it to the bottom floor.
I went to the kitchen and prepared Jack's breakfast like I always did, but this time around, I sat on his chair and ate the food. Memories of last night could not escape my mind. Each time I closed my eyes, all I could see was Jack's naked body grinding in between Charlotte's thighs.
I sucked in a breath to keep the tears from coming out. I had to finish my food and leave, period.
A part of me knew that I was stalling because I wanted to have a final conversation with Jack, but the bigger yet less expressed part of me knew that it would be pointless. If anything, I would only be hurting myself more.
"Where is she?" I could hear Alpha Bane roaring as he walked towards this room. I should have left and saved myself, but I didn't.
"Who gave you the right to hit my daughters?" He barked as soon as he saw me. I only stared at him without saying anything.
He struck me on the face, twice on one side till I could feel the burn beneath my skin.
A tear quickly fell down my face and I sucked in a breath.
"I didn't hit them!" I said to him, standing from my seat.
"How dare you talk to your Alpha like that?" He yelled before slapping me again. This time around, I bit the inside of my cheek and tasted the blood.
"You will leave this house at once! And you should be grateful that it took him this long to reject you! Be on your way, I will make sure that my son gets his position that he earned as his birth right, without you!" He was spitting in my face with how angry he was and how close to me he was.
The maids and guards had gathered around and I could just see the amusement on their faces.
"Listen to your Alpha and leave this house!" Jack said appearing from behind me.
"Alpha Nile said this would always be my home!" I reminded him before my eyes moved down to his hand that was intertwined with Charlotte's.
"Do you see him anywhere? He's dead and my dad is in charge now!" Jack laughed and Charlotte kept that smirk on her face.
After all the times I opened up to him about her, he still did this to me.
"Fine, Jack! I was planning on leaving anyway!" I screamed out before grabbing the suitcases I had already packed. I began loading them into the back of my car, but Jack arrived just to stop me.
"The car stays. It belongs to my father, by law since he is the Alpha now." Jack smiled and I quickly slammed the trunk shut.
"He is not the Alpha! Not for long!" I spat out angrily and he wrapped his hand around my neck, making me gasp for air.
"Jack! I can't breath!" I said to him, reaching for his wrist.
"Never talk about my father like that again, you got that you little puppy?" He finally let me go and I coughed and pounced my chest as I watched him unload the suitcases.
"How am I supposed to leave without my car?" I asked him as he closed the trunk and grabbed the keys from my hand.
"You are a wolf, aren't you? That shouldn't be a problem. If you start running now, who knows, maybe you'll finally find your lousy wolf!" He smirked before locking the car and walking back into the house.
To say I felt humiliated would be putting it lightly.
I reached into the open car window and unlocked the car, grabbing my phone and my wallet.
The cash I had should be enough to get me a train to the next city, but not a cab to the train station.
I walked, pulling my luggage behind me and looking straight ahead while everyone laughed behind me and gossiped.
I could hear so many speculations about why I had been kicked out of the pack house but I ignored them all till I made it to the train station an hour later.
I was sweaty, but at least the next train would arrive soon. The train was mostly used by underprivileged elderly wolves who could no longer run as good on their feet. Maybe I would have peace in there.
I hopped on as it stopped and sat by myself, staring out the window as it sped off. I had no idea where it was headed but I would only come out on the last stop,as far as possible from Maipel Mountain, the city that has been my home for all my life.
"Hey, I know you! You are the Alpha's adopted daughter!" An old woman smiled at me and I quickly shook my head, denying it.
I am not that girl anymore. I neee a new name actually.
"I am Raine. I don't know who that is, I'm heading back home to my city." I said to her and she knitted her brows together, obviously in doubt before she sat next to me.
I was dosing off when I suddenly felt a tap on my shoulder.. When I looked up, I was surrounded my six men, all dressed in black suits.
" Paige Willey?" One of them asked asked and I shook my head.
"It's her. You grab the luggage, let's go" he said to the others before they grabbed me.
"What are you doing? Let go of me!" I yelled out, hoping someone would come to my rescue, but everyone kept their eyes glued straight as they carried me out of the train.
I tried fighting back when they shoved me into a car, but I soon felt a sting on my arm. They were injecting me with something.
It took some time for my eyes to open after that, and I was still in a daze when I finally woke up.
I looked around me, trying to sit up before I realised that I was tied to a bed. Both my hands and feet were restraint and I could barely afford to even turn my body.
I turned to my side and saw a muscular, bare back. He was tall when he stood up from his chair and the sun shining from in front of him made him look like a God.
Who was he? I took a whiff of his scent and knew that he was no stranger to me, but who was he?
He turned around and the sun from the large window was still blinding me so I could still not tell who he was.
His pants were a loose fit at his waist, exposing that V that leads to...you know.
I found myself staring, and I never stare at men like that.
"Who are you?" I asked and he slowly got on his knees to bring himself down to my height.
"Your new fiancé! Nice seeing you again, my Luna!" He said to me before he untied my left hand and slid a ring onto my ring finger.
"What- what are you..." I could not even finish my question with those blue eyes boring holes into mine. He had an intimidating look about him. His face was stern, his jaw square and defined with medium sized lips that refused to curve into a frown or a smile.
When he finally ran a hand through his hair and smirked at me, I figured it out.
"Alpha Kane?" I asked with the uncertainty evident in my voice.
