Logan walked quicker as he ran to the door. The door was locked. There was a lot of noises from behind the door. Bella walked out with an annoyed look.
Bella mumbled pig under her breath and walked past Logan without looking up. Logan opened the door and saw the man tied up by his shirt. He laughed as he showed his dad in the video.
“Pretty sure if she was BB, she would have killed him.” Logan said quietly.
“Fair point, keep an eye on her to protect her then.” Matt said.
“Little help?” The man asked.
“Don’t lure girls in rooms with bad intentions, suffer you d*ckhead.” Logan said.
Logan shut the door after clicking the lock, and walked away.
Bella was wearing weights tied around her waist with a trainer, out under the shade outside. Logan stood there watching.
“How much weight is that?” Logan asked.
“That is 225kg.” Another trainer said.
“How long has Bella been able to do that?” Logan asked.
“Since she was 16, she used to come to the gym for 4 hours a day until the school holidays. It’s where she felt safe. This place was practically her second home for a while.” The trainer said.
Logan and Matt watched as Bella ran to the trainer, while dragging the weight fast behind her.
“YES!” Drew cheered.
Drew high fived her.
“Drew, a man is tied in the sauna room again. He tried dragging me into there and took his shirt off. I tied him up with his shirt.” Bella said openly.
Drew laughed.
“You are so cute when you are grumpy.” Drew teased.
Bella rolled her eyes.
“I’ll swing the weights at you.” Bella said.
“I don’t doubt that.” Drew said.
Bella untied the belt then grabbed the weights. She lifted them and Logan watched with his dad in the video as she carried them to the front of the run.
“Want to run again?” Drew asked.
Bella looked at her phone.
“I have to shower and get back to school soon.” Bella said.
“Next time.” Drew said.
Bella nodded and they hugged. They walked into the doors with their arms around each other.
“Take care, Bella.” Drew said.
“See you next time Drew.” Bella said.
Bella walked to the showers.
“What’s the history between Bella and that trainer?” Logan asked.
“Who? Drew? If she was ever to date any of us, I think she’d date him.” The trainer said.
“Enough speculations.” Another trainer said.
“Why do you think that?” Logan asked.
“Nearly eight years ago, during winter. Drew had found Bella when he was 15 and she was 10. He found her covered in cuts and bruises. Blood everywhere. She was being chased through the woods. Someone tried kidnapping her but she jumped out of their car on the highway, rolled from the cliff and fell down to the river where she floated to his camp site. He was camping by himself. He tended to her wounds and most of her clothes were ripped. He gave her his own shirt and jacket. So, he was willing to freeze. Since then, he has spent at least 3 days a week with intense training to help her learn to fight. He was there when she lost her mother, and when she went missing at 14, he was gone to find her. She arrived at his doorstep, covered in more bruises and cuts. She was in just her underwear. He received the notification from his doorbell camera and told her to steal clothes from his clothes line and that he’d be home soon. Since then, he always makes sure she is okay. If he notices she has lost weight, he buys her food. If he doesn’t hear from her within 3 days, he spams her phone to make sure she isn’t kidnapped. Drew knows her father threatened to sell her virginity and has been trying to do that for money. So, he is trying to keep her safe. He’s very protective of her. He’d kill for her.” The trainer said.
“He would kill for her?” Logan asked.
“Yeah, he really would. In fact. I wouldn’t be quick to assume he hasn’t yet. Bella and him are not the type to date though. If they were, he’d wait until she’s 18. But the fact that they haven’t even kissed. We know Bella has never been kissed. She’s a good girl. They are like brother and sister. Ignore my friends assumption of their relationship. Yes he has protected her and found her, but they are only friends. He isn’t a killer, and he is training her. She is a runner, she is learning to run fast and be stealthy.” The other trainer said.
Logan looked at his phone.
“Does the name BB mean anything to you?” Logan asked.
“Where have you heard that?” The first trainer asked.
“Of course it means something, it’s part of a code.” The second trainer started to say.
Drew walked over.
“What’s part of a code?” Drew asked.
His voice cold and sounded threatening. The air felt visibly cold near them.
“The Da Vinci Code, we were discussing the book.” Logan lied.
The trainers nodded then left.
“Hello, I don’t think we have met. I saw you watching my friend. Keep your hands to yourself. I’m Andrew, and you are?” Drew asked.
“Logan.” Logan said.
“The asshole from school.” Drew said.
“The one and only.” Logan said.
Drew stepped closer.
“Look, I don’t know what you are doing here. Or why you are interested in Bella. But she has enough problems, so you should stay away if you know what is good for you.” Drew said.
“Boy, I don’t care what you think, I won’t let you threaten me. No matter how many steroids you are on.” Logan said.
Drew stepped closer and towered over him. Bella walked out with her wet hair in a bun. Her black dress, her heels and her perfume on. The scent got both the boys to look her way.
“What are you two morons doing?” Bella asked.
