A dark expression was clouding his face, as he sat in the wheelchair, sitting in the front sitting room, waiting. He did not like to be made like a fool and if his new little wife felt that she could get away with doing anything that she wanted, then he was going to put a stop to that very quickly.
At first, when she had freaked out at him and his actions the night before, he had thought that maybe she was too shy about her first time. He wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, to apologise to her and explain to her that it was a test and he took it too far and he would not do it again. However, the moment she came down for breakfast, dressed and ready for the day, he could see the way she saw him and froze, a hint of fear in her eyes, making a quick choice to grab something basic and leave.
That did not make him happy and he spoke up, asking her where she was going. It was a Sunday, it was the day after their wedding, and he had planned to take her to the family home, for lunch. Yet, she had different plans, claimed that she needed to go to school, to University. He knew in her words, she was taking a dig at him, because of the way he had acted the night before, and he was stunned by the way she spoke that he did not stop her in the end. In fact, a smirk formed on his lips, liking her feisty attitude.
Although hearing her leave, he was silent for a moment, not hearing the car. He had Ms June check and she came back to report that Nakisha had left without asking Ben to drive her, that she was going on her own. Michal may not have liked the girl much, not trusted her, was confused by her, but he did not think it was wise for her to just be wondering around the streets alone. She was a part of the Goodford family now and not everyone were pleasant to the family.
As quickly as they could, Michal and Ben set out, stopping at the gate of the estate for a brief moment and then went through, pulling over to the side when they saw Nakisha walk over to a car that was sitting and waiting. He was stunned, it was a twenty twenty two Rolls-Royce Phantom in black. They were not cheap cars, in fact they were on the top list of the most expensive sedan style cars for the year of make. They cost well over the four hundred thousand dollar range and very hard to even come in ownership of. In fact, Michal was sure he heard somewhere that Rolls-Royce only produced around three hundred of that particular model, so it was not common to see one. He knew all about it because while he did not have a twenty twenty two model, he had personally ordered a custom twenty twenty three model.
Glaring at the car he watched his little wife, as she did not even knock on the window of the fancy car. She approached without care, opened the rear passenger door and got in. Michal was angry, wondering who in the hell was she getting in the car with. He could see the shadow of a person in the car, so he knew she was not in there alone, and he knew it was not just a driver. Ordering Ben to follow, they carefully kept a distant from the fancy car and followed, making sure they never lost sight of where the car was headed.
Unexpectedly however, it did stop in front of the University, and Michal watched carefully. He could not really see into the vehicle, but he could see the shadows. He saw the shape of a small person move over and put arms around the shape of the bigger person. He knew it was Nakisha and he knew it meant she was hugging whom ever was in that car. Anger filled him, annoyed that she was faking things like he had suspected of even before he married her. He was furious he did not check her well enough, but at that moment, he felt that she was nothing like he had been told about.
He saw as the girl got from the car, closed the door and headed in through the gates of the University. The white car moved on, heading away from the University and yet Michal asked for Ben to stay, as his cold eyes followed the girl until she was out of sight. After he could no longer see her, he told Ben to head back to the estate, at the same time pulling out his phone.
When the call was answered, it was Christian who spoke on the other end of the line. Michal did not say too much, just ordered his assistant to gather all information they could about Nakisha Shaw and that he would only allow twenty four hours for it to be done. Michal needed to know who he married and what he was getting himself into.
All day, he was in a mood, going to his study to complete some work, until he had enough of not being able to focus and made his way downstairs again, going to the sitting room and spending the rest of his morning and early afternoon sitting there and waiting for the girl to return home. Ms June come in a couple of times, bringing Michal food and drink which he accepted. She tried to reason with him, sticking up for the girl and claiming there may be a good reason, but he was too angry to even think of any other reason. All he knew was that she got in the car with another man and hugged them. No matter if he liked her or not, she was his wife and she should not be doing such a thing.
His ears picked up the moment he could hear the front door opening. He knew it would be her, everyone else was finished for the day, even Ms June. After all it was a Sunday and the staff only worked half the day on Sunday, so then they could spend time with their own family and friends. So with the door opening, he knew it would be the new wife of his, returning from her so called studies. Listening, he could hear how she closed the door, took off shoes and put house slippers on. He could hear as she went to walk towards the stairs, but froze, the moment he spoke up.
“Did you enjoy your classes?” he asked loud enough for her to hear.
He could sense the way she paused, and then come into the sitting room, looking him in the eyes. Most people would shy away and not even raise their chin to him. She was so different to most people and while it caught his interest, he was still angry at her for the way she acted today, the way she hugged somebody else. He could see the way her expression changed, sensing how she was firm and determined, yet must have sensed the cold aura in the room, as she seemed to look slightly confused.
“As long as one has passion for what they learn, then it will be fun.” She finally stated.
“You did not take the car?” he questioned.
“No. I called somebody to pick me up.” she stated.
He watched her for a moment, thinking and wondering. She did not lie about going to the University. Technically, she was not also lying now. She was being honest. Yet he still felt annoyed, felt like there were things she was not admitting to and he wanted to know it. Christian was still busy gathering information about her, so he could only gather what he could from what he already knew, and what he saw.
With his grey eyes darkening, Michal wheeled his chair closer to Nakisha, noticing how she moved away, step by step, until she was backed against the wall, a worried look in her eyes. He knew he was freaking her out, scaring her and he was happy about that. He wanted her to fear him, to worry about what he would do, so then next time, she would not do anything so stupid.
“And who was it you asked to come and pick you up?” he asked with a low tone.
“Why does that matter? Do I ask you who you spend a day with?” she retorted.
“DON'T YOU DARE SPEAK CHEEK WITH ME GIRL!” Michal snapped.
He grabbed at her arm and even though she tried to dodge away from him, Michal was quick. He gripped her arm firmly and pulled her. With a squeal of fright, he pulled Nakisha towards him, finding her falling into his arms, her body leaning against his. They were both stunned for a moment, before her eyes went wide and she started trying to get away from him. Michal on the other hand, held onto her firmly and would not let her go.
“Do you have a secret lover out there?” he hissed at her.
“No.” she said surely and quickly.
“Do not lie to me.” he hissed, pinching her chin between his fingers, holding tight. “You are now married, my wife. I will not allow you to hug another man and make me a fool.”
“You have greatly mistaken.” Nakisha claimed. “So stop spying on me and getting things so twistedly wrong!”
“Bullshit!” he snapped, making her flinch in pain as he held her tighter. “Do you know, regardless if I think you are here to mess with me and for money, I was concerned that you walking around would leave you an open target.”
“Well, thank you for the concern, but I think I am in more trouble with you then out there!” she hissed back, anger in her eyes. “Let go of me.”
“If I ever catch you hugging another man again, I will break your arms and I will gut him out in front of you. I will not be kind.” he warned.
“Clearly noted, now get your hand off me!” she snapped.
In disgust, Michal let go of her chin and shoved her, pushing her away from him. There was a yelp from Nakisha but without caring for her, he simply turned his chair and headed for the elevator, to go back to his study and ignore her for the rest of the day.
