Chapter five - You already lost it

2088 Words
Kally's POV: I went to a doctor to confirm my pregnancy. It's true. The problem is that I don't know what to do. I haven't told anyone except for Kian and Addie. Since then, he hasn't talked with me. I tried to call and text him. Nothing. He doesn't want to hear about me. I have no idea what is going on with him. Addie thinks he is cheating. I tried to follow him once. Kian was with his friends. There is nothing wrong with that. I hang out with mine often. Maybe he saw me. If he did, he should've said something. I don't know what to think about anymore. I'm afraid to tell my parents about the baby. They might kill me. Not for real, but you know what I mean. For the past week, I have been thinking about this. The best I can do is to remove it. I can't take care of this alone. Also, I don't want to do it. I'll have kids when I find someone taking care of me. I have to wait for this. That means I have more time to focus on the important stuff. One of them is my job. I hope that I can keep it for a while. I have been working for two weeks. So far, things look good. I got distracted a little bit. I have to go to the doctor today. Addie will come with me. I can't have a parent. If it's necessary, I'll bring her mom. She told me to wait for her at home. I finished with my classes in the morning. I don't want to eat anything for lunch. Lately, I haven't eaten much. Let's say I had too many things in my head. She was here in half an hour. I'm getting nervous about this, but I don't have a choice. - How do you feel? - Nervous. - Trust me. You are making the right choice. The kid should be from someone who takes care of you. - I know. I have to wait a lot for this. - It's not necessary. You can meet someone during your night shifts. - Maybe, but I don't want to think about this now. - When is your appointment? I mean, what hour? - We have an hour to get there. - Then we should go. - Maybe. - Don't feel bad about it. None of this is your fault. - It's like I'm killing a person. - You will kill it after it's born, and you can't take care of it. That way is better. - I'll take my things. Thank you for coming with me. - Always. If we need a parent, my mom is available. Addie and I went to the hospital together. She was holding my hand as if she was the mother and I was a little kid. Honestly, I'm so happy that she is with me. I know I can trust her for that. We waited fifteen minutes for my doctor to come. I talked with her the first time we met. She told me to think, and when I was ready, I could come back. - Kally. It's nice to see you again. Did you decide? - I did. I want to remove it. - Are you sure? The decision should be yours. - I know. I don't want to raise a kid alone at that age. - Good. Lay down. I want to check on you first. - Sure. - Alright. Let's see it. Hmm. - What? Is it there? - Hold on. I'm checking. - Doctor, is everything ok with her? - Addie asked - Can you describe what you have been doing since we last met? Did you eat enough? Were you under stress? - No to the first question, yes to the second one. - Then this might be a relief to you. - Why? - You already lost it. - Huh? - You lost the baby. It's gone. - Are you sure? - I am. I don't see it anywhere. The little dot is gone. - Thank you. - I didn't do anything. You did it yourself. - What should I do now? - Enjoy your life. I can't believe that it's gone. I texted Kian to see where he was. Finally, he agreed to see me. I don't know what took him so long. I wanted to talk to him for days. He was nowhere to be found. Addie and I will go out again later. First, I want to see what he will tell me. I can't wait to tell him about the baby. This might make things better. - Hey, thank you for coming. Great news. The baby. - I'm breaking up with you. - What? Why? - I lost interest in you. - Excuse me? - I don't want to talk or see you again. - Can I ask you something? - What? - Are you cheating on me? - I don't need to answer that. - Did she make you do it? Is she the reason behind this? - Who is she? - That's what I expect you to tell me. - No. I don't like you, and I never did. - What? You were using me the whole time. - I got what I wanted, but it wasn't good at all. I have to go. - Wait! - Don't search for me. - he said and left I couldn't even tell him about the baby. He left. Now, I know I have made the right decision. This guy wouldn't have cared about me at all. I called Addie around 2 pm. Luckily, she is always available for me. I don't know what to do anymore. Things won't get easier for me. I better focus on my job. That is the only thing that is left to me. - I came as fast as I could. What happened? Why is the sad face? What did he do? - He left. - Did you tell him about the baby? - No, I couldn't. He didn't want to listen. - Call him again. - I can't. - Why? - He broke up with me. - What? How? - How do you break up with someone? With words. - I don't understand why he would do that. - I asked if he was cheating on me. - And? Did he confirm? - No. Kian didn't say anything about that. He said he never liked me. - i***t. - It doesn't matter anymore. Everything is over. - Look at it from the bright side. - Which is? - Now you don't have to deal with him anymore. You can focus on yourself. - I don't care. - But you should. We kept talking for I don't know how long. I'm glad that Addie is here. The good news is that Kian is not in the same university as I am. I don't need to see him every day. I offered for her to stay at home with us. I have to go to work later. She can always stay with me, but I bet she'll get bored. I'm only a waitress. My parents came home after work. - Hello, girls. How are you? - my mom asked - We are fine. You? - Addie asked - I can say the same. Going to work every day. Kally, when do you have to go? - In two hours. - Why don't you stay at home with us? - I can't. Otherwise, I can get fired. I don't want this to happen. - You don't need this job anyway. - Mom, we have talked about this. Please, leave me alone. - Alright. Maybe your dad can change your mind. - That won't happen. I'll go and get ready. Addie, do you want to come with me? - Yes, sure. I can have dinner with my parents at your restaurant. - I would love to serve you. When I was ready, we walked out. I went straight to work. Addie went home to get her parents. I know she'll convince them. They do everything for her. My parents are the same. They have met a few times, but that's it. Mostly, Addie and I are together. I took my pen and mini notebook and went to take orders. - Hello, good evening. What would you like to order? - Hi. I want a chicken salad. Can you add Parmesan? - the woman asked - Of course. - Add a glass of red wine. From this one. - Alright. - I'll take the steak with potatoes. Add another glass of red wine. - the man said - Done. Do you want anything else? - No, that will be for now. Thank you. - I'll be right back. - What do we have? - the chef asked - One chicken salad with Parmesan. Add a steak with potatoes, and two glasses of red wine. - I'll get them started. - Here is the wine. The order will be done soon. - Thank you. - Kally. - Hey, Addie. Here is the menu for the three of you. Call me when you are ready to order. I had a small chat with Addie and her parents. I see their daughter every day. She is informed of everything that happens in my life. I don't hide anything from her. They were happy with my services. That earned me a tip. It doesn't happen often. I'm not showing my bad mood even if I have it. My friend and her parents stayed for an hour. - Alright, kid. We are closing. This is your paycheck for the week. You did a good job. - my boss said - Thanks. - All the tips you earn are for you. - Customers are generous. - Not all of them. Please, don't have high hopes. - I know. I already saw it. - So you know what I mean. Midnight has passed. You can go home. I'll see you tomorrow. - I'll be here, sir. - That's what I expect. - I won't disappoint you. I promise. - Good. Go home now. - See you tomorrow. - I said and left I might not earn millions, but it's enough for me and my needs. Here, we have weekly paychecks. My tips are not more than ten dollars, but it's enough for me. If I want more, I should offer better service. I don't know how to do that. My parents are probably in bed. I carefully opened the front door and walked in. The tv in the living room was on. I thought they were sleeping. - Good night. - I said, chuckling - Hey, you are back. - my mom said - Yes. I thought you two were in bed. - We were supposed to be, but your dad wanted us to wait for you. - Why? Did something happen? - He wanted to make sure you would come home. - As you can see, I'm here. Dad, nothing will happen to me. - You are a girl who is walking alone at night. Can you defend yourself? - Not that again. We talked about this. One million times. Nothing will happen to me. I can take care of myself. - How can I be sure? - I'm starting to think that you don't trust me. - I do, but you are still little. - Dad, I'm twenty years old. Won't you finally let me grow up? - No. - I'm fine. Why don't you get occupied with something else? - What am I supposed to do during the night? - You have a wife. Satisfy her. - I said, and he laughed We kept talking for some time. I understand my dad, but I don't think something will happen to me. If it does, I'll call him or the police. I know he is worried, but there is no reason for that. I have other problems than my job. Maybe I'll like being single. Kian wasn't the one, but I forced myself to try. Here are the results. At least the baby is gone by itself. I won't tell my parents that. Addie and I will pretend that nothing happened. I want to erase this part of my life. I should talk to my parents about the breakup, but it won't be now. I hope that I can find myself and do what I like.
