Chapter eight - You should give up

2080 Words
Jay's POV: Mom's babysitting plan is not working. She hired an ex-military man. I had so much fun with him. He tried to discipline us. The man didn't survive a day. We were doing the opposite of what he said. He got tired and quit in less than eight hours. If that was her biggest plan, it didn't work. I was in my best shape. Of course, my brothers helped me with the plan. I'm glad that we are on the same page for that. I would love to see who will be next. Judging by our mom's decisions, it might be another woman. I wonder when she will give up. That is not working. Also, it's a waste of time for her. Toby, Blane, and I are having fun. I still haven't done anything from the list. There are so many things I want to try. Let's see which one will make her quit faster. In the meantime, my brothers and I might do something else. I had a plan, but it got delayed. Every thought is either in the group chat or on the notes app on my phone. I can't leave any evidence. I hope that our mom won't ruin the fun again. The babysitter number four should come soon. Mom said she would choose her this week. That gives us time to finish my plan. I have no clue how to do everything, but Toby and Blane will help me. I want to do it before I finish my first year at university. When I woke up, I went to check on them. We'll discuss everything for breakfast. I left them some time to get ready. Later, I went to make myself breakfast. Everyone eats whatever they find. Soon, the trio was at the table. - What is the plan, boss? - Toby asked, taking a bite from his sandwich - Whatever I wrote in the group chat will happen today. We still don't have a babysitter. That gives us some time for this. - One question. Mom? - Blane asked - We'll be outside. Mom won't find out. - Yes, but we are grounded when they come home. - I'm not missing a party because of this. We have to bring some things there. - Sure. You can count on me for that. - Are we sneaking from your window? - Toby asked - It's the only one that has stairs. - Cool. - I'll go down, and one of you will give me the things. - I smell a win and a crazy night. - Blane said - That is only the beginning, my brother. It's only the beginning. - I wish I had been that evil. - The three of us already are. There is only one class today. The other will be dismissed. Our teacher is at a conference. During the whole class, we were talking about the party. This will be wild. I put in the group chat a list of everything needed. I texted the guy who would make the party. He said all this was enough. When the class ended, we stayed at the university for a while. There is a coffee shop nearby. - We have everything needed. - Hold on. There is a text from our mom. She wants us home tonight. - Blane said - That won't happen. Cut her off. - If I do this, she'll understand about the party. - He is right. We can't risk it. - Toby said - Fine. Ask her what this is about. - Alright. - Well? - She said she had to talk with us. There was nothing else. - In that case, we'll do this quickly. Later, we'll go to the party. - You got it. We walked around before we went home. Our lunch was at a diner. The waitress was cute. Luckily, she is not my type. I won't date her. Since that happened, I haven't dated girls. I don't talk about this. Only my brothers know the whole story, but they won't speak. - Man, she was totally into you. - Toby said - I don't care. - I said - You always get the good girls. - Look at him and learn. So far, I have had success. - Blane said - What did you learn from me? - The way you look at girls and the slight gestures. - I don't do anything like that. - Yeah, sure. - I'm serious. I don't do this. - Haven't you noticed? You do this all the time. - Now I know. - Then you ask why girls walk after you like a magnet. - Toby said, chuckling - Can we not talk about this? - I'll be back. - Whatever he is doing, I'm not part of this. - I won't say anything, but you know what I think. - Blane said - Keep the words for yourself. I don't want to hear it. My brother and I stayed outside for a while before we went home. Our parents were home early. It's not even lunchtime. Well, it almost is. Nothing good will come out of this. I can sense our mom's bad mood. The news she has for us won't be good. One thing is sure. I'll go to that party, no matter what it costs me. - What is going on here? You are never home so early. - I said - True, but we wanted to talk with you. We took a day off. Don't worry, it's not for us to lecture you. - our mom said - Where is the catch? - Will you listen to me first? Thank you. Until I find you a new babysitter, you won't be grounded. It'll save me the trouble of constant arguments and watching you. Don't get excited. I always get what I want. - Jay, did you take this phrase from our mom? - Toby asked, chuckling - No, she took it from me. - What is going on here? - Jay says the same thing as you. - At least one of you looks like me. - Can we go now? I don't want to be here. - I said - Yes, you can. As usual, we went to play games in Toby's room. We have a PlayStation, a Nintendo Switch, and an Xbox. Call us spoiled, and we won't complain. Alright, I'll admit something. I stole money from our parents to buy us the Nintendo Switch a few years ago. They didn't return it but made us pay for it. I managed to deal with it. - Can you believe that we are free? - Toby asked - There is a catch here. She will never give up so easily. - I said - I agree. Mom has something in mind. - Blane said - Whatever it is, we'll go to a party tonight. Good plan, Jay, but we won't need it. - That was in case something happened. I wouldn't know if they would let us go. - What if they ask about the things we got? - Blane, avoid every question. That's it. I don't need to teach you everything. - I'm not a good liar. - We know. We spent the afternoon in our rooms. When the time came, we started getting ready for the party. I took everything we needed. To my surprise, we passed by our parents without being asked anything. There were a few people when we arrived. I went to find the host. Andrew was ordering everything. That will be good. I can sense it. I made him come with me to show him everything we bought. We are not the only people who will bring something. - Did you buy the whole store? - Andrew asked - No, we didn't have that much money. - I said - That is crazy. You are officially invited to every party I make. - Who knew that money could buy you unlimited party passes? - Toby asked, chuckling - You earned it, man. It'll be the best party I have ever had. - Now to the important question. How many girls did you invite? - A lot. You'll like this. - I'm already liking it. Am I allowed to get them drunk? - Sure. Do whatever you want. It's a party. - Sweet. - Alright. I have a few more things to check before everyone comes. - I volunteer to help you. - Thanks, Blane. I won't deny some help. In less than an hour, everyone was here. I'm glad that they are enjoying our activities. Toby did what he planned. A few girls quickly got drunk. He wasn't yet, but I expect it to happen. I know my brother well. I was sitting aside and observing everyone. For some reason, I started doing this often. I don't see anything wrong with it. Blane came to check on me. I understand why he does it, but that is unnecessary. I'm fine. - Why are you always alone? Parties are to have fun. - I do. - Why don't you forget about her and move on? Look how many girls are here. - I know, but all of them are the same. - Don't tell me that you are looking for something serious again. - I didn't say that. For now, I plan to distance myself from girls. I want to have some time for myself. - You can always tell me if something is bothering you. - Thanks, but I don't want to talk about this now. Please, don't insist. - I won't. Look. At least he is having fun. - He wanted to get them drunk. Mission successful. - I wonder when you will say it. - When we meet the new babysitter. - Don't remind me. I haven't seen her, but I hate her already. - She might not be that bad. - I doubt it. It was 1 am when we left the party. Our parents were in bed. We went to my room before going to bed. I should start interacting with girls again, but I don't want to go that deep. I won't make the same mistake again. It happened only once. Blane knows what I'm thinking, but he didn't say anything. It's better that way. - That was the best party I have ever been to. - Toby said - How many girls did you get drunk? - I asked - I stopped counting after five. - At least, did you have fun with one of the girls? - Blane asked - I wish it had been only one. We need to repeat that. - We already have a free pass. Andrew will invite us again. - What is the new plan for the next babysitter? - I will think about this. First, we need to study her. If we know more about our victim, it'll be easier to manipulate her. - I said - You always have good ideas. I'm sure you can think of something. - We can always use some of our old ideas, but I want something new. - We'll help you with whatever you say. - Blane said - It's good to know this. - Will you ever go out with girls again? - Toby asked - I don't see what this has to do with you. - Chill. It's only a question. - Leave him alone. That is a sensitive topic. - But he is missing the fun. - I can have fun without being around girls. - I'll play a video game before bed. Who wants to join me? - I can come. - Jay? - No, thanks. I'll go to bed. - It's your loss. My brothers are worried for me, but it's not needed. What happened was in high school. I prefer not to think and talk about it. I am who I am because of this. It's already in history. Tomorrow, I'll start with the plans for the new babysitter. I don't know if she will be a female, but it'll work on everyone. I wish our mom could give up already. It'll save me from overthinking about unimportant things. Well, we talk about our mom. No matter what goes into her head, it doesn't come out. I can say the same thing about myself. I know I'm better than her. I hope that this game won't be endless.
