Chapter 15

1017 Words
Jason Pov  I have been so distracted today the first day without Sophie as she has gone back to work. I hate her being there with that slimy boss of hers. I try to distract myself all day. It's closing in on the evening and I head to the cabin I have built as there are a few touches I need to make before I can ask Sophie to move in. I get a thumping headache as I begin to work. I feel someone else's pain. But who's pain is it? I mind linking the entire pack incase it's an attack on our lands but nothing. So I try to ring Sophie but no answer. Could it be Sophie? I haven't marked her yet. I ask my wolf and he whimpers that he can feel the pain too. I know I have to go to her. Find her. Protect her.  "Alpha Jason, the lost daughter we have been looking for is back at the house" Matthew my gammer calls through our pack link.  "When did she get there" I ask "We have just had the call from the guardian of the house, she said the girl wasn't looking to good either"  " Right Matthew, Samuel get the car I will be there now"  I call  "Yes Alpha" they both say in stereo.  I grab my phone and call Sophie. This pain has to be hers, but I get no answer. I punch the wall in frustration. I swear I will kill whoever has hurt Sophie.  "Josh, Chris get to Sophie's work I can't get hold of her and she is hurt"  "Yes Alpha" they both call.  I dash up to the car and set my wolf the task of locating Sophie. I see Josh and Chris pulling out of the driveway and I feel some relief knowing that others are looking for her.  On the drive I can feel my attention is torn between Sophie and the lost daughter of night. I keep checking my phone for a message or call as this pain in my head doesn't ease. "Alpha" Chris calls through the pack link.  "Yes have you found her?" I say eagerly " No Alpha, she isn't here and her office is a mess. there is blood over the room. Looks like a real struggle happened"   "Get to her apartment," I ordered. I can feel my blood begin to boil and my canines start to grow from under my lip. I can feel I am starting to lose control of my wolf. It takes everything to not shift in the car. After a short while we pull up at the house where the lost daughter was taken from.  "Alpha, she isn't here either"I hear through the link.  "Any sign that she has been back" i ask keeping as calm as i can  "No Alpha, doesn't look like she has been here since this morning, shall we keep looking?"  Yes one of you get back to the pack, check our grounds for her just check everywhere  she has been in the last month and I mean everywhere, the other get to every Emergency room, doctors office or somewhere she can get medical attention in a 50 mile radius of her work place" I order them once more. I take a few deep breaths and try to focus on the lost daughter. I  slowly and cautiously enter the  house, my attention is now fully on the lost daughter.  My nose is filled with the smell of blood mixed with something familiar. Samuel and Matthew took the down stairs checking room by room. I take the upstairs and I follow the scent to the door. I remember this door from when I was a child this was her room, the lost daughter's room. For the life of me I cannot remember her name. It is almost as if most of the memories of her were taken from me. I slowly open the door and I see a figure laying on the bed. “MooMoo” escapes my lips. The stench of drying blood fills my nose. There is something else with the blood and scent I know,  It can't be?  Can it?  I edge closer to the bed and I see that face I see her My mate! Sophie is the lost daughter. I am at her side pushing her hair back from her face bruising covering half of her face. My wolf threatens to take over the anger we both feel seeing her like this. I take her hand in mine placing a small kiss on the back of her knuckles. “I’m here MooMoo, Sophie, you are safe” I whisper to her hoping she hears me. I scoop her up in my arms. She seems so small and frail in that moment, not the bad ass who kicked a she-wolf's ass the other day that I saw.  I race down the stairs as the boys appear at the bottom of the stairs both of them stood with their mouths wide open obviously shocked at who was in my arms.  “PACK HOSPITAL NOW!!!!” my wolf yelled with that they were in the car. As soon as I was in with Sophie held close they raced away from the house to the pack hospital Samuel had rung ahead to let them know we were on our way and a brief low down on what to expect.  I had so many questions and no answers How did I not know she was the lost daughter? Did her parents know she was my mate? Afterall her mother chose the mates of all wolves. What happened to her? Who did it? Does she know she is the lost daughter? Does she remember me? All of these thoughts and questions keep spinning in my head. I gently cup her cheek in my hand and run my fingers down her face. I try to ease her pain and give her some comfort. I feel her move for the first time as she curls in closer to me. She must know I am here. I am not leaving her side until she is awake and well again.  The car pull to a stop and I climb out with sophie and race her into the room that was prepared for her on our arrival.
