Chapter 8: She's going with me.

When Chleo opened the door, a man in a suit was standing outside. Kirko saw Chleo put her hand inside her pocket as she approached the man. And he knew what she was holding there. A syringe. "Who are you and what do you need?" Chleo asked the man, her hands still in her pockets. "He's my assistant. Let him in," Kirko said, thinking that Chleo might inject the syringe into his assistant's neck. "I thought you were not allowed to have visitors? But well, what do I care?" Chleo opened the door widely and gave way to the man. "Come in." "Can you give us a minute?" Kirko turned to Chleo and said. Chleo didn't respond, but she went out of Kirko's room and closed the door. When Chleo was already out of the room, Kirko's assistant ran to his side and mumbled, "Is she your private nurse? She is giving me goosebumps, sir." "She's really odd. By the way, did Grandma really allow you to come here?" Kirko inquired. "Actually, it's your grandma who asked me to come here," Fierro, Kirko's assistant, replied. Kirko's forehead creased. "Why?" "She wants to transfer you to another place and replace your private nurse, sir," Fierro responded. "What?" Kirko exclaimed. "Why? Did they already confirm that our enemies had already found me?" "They found out that the assassin who attacked you here in your room was from your family's enemies, sir. But the assassin who shot you in the garden is aiming to kill your nurse, sir," Fierro explained. Kirko whispered, his palms on his chin, thinking about Chleo, "So it means that her life is also in danger." "Sir, we have to check out of the hotel at midnight. We have already arranged everything. We are going to use a dummy to confuse the assassin." Fierro elaborated the plan to Kirko. But Kirko doesn't seem to listen to him. "I want my nurse to go with me," he declared. "Sir, but your grandma wants to take you away from her. Because your life will be in danger too if you are with her," Fierro points out, but Kirko doesn't really care about it. "Her life was in danger too. It means she needed protection too." "Yes, sir. But it's not your obligation to protect her. We have to prioritize your safety," Fierro argued. "I don't want any other nurse. I only want her. Tell that to grandma. Or else she might want me to go back to Japan as soon as possible," Kirko said, making Fierro scratch his head. His boss is really hardheaded at times. "Your family wants to fix things first before you go back to Japan, sir." "But I want to fix things on my own. I'm not a child anymore. Why do they not allow me to face those enemies?" "They just want you to be safe, sir. You are the only heir of your family. They won't let anything bad happen to you, like what happened in the first assassination attempt on you." "Then I want her to be safe, too, so she's going with me. And that's final," Kirko said with finality, dismissing his assistant. "Okay, sir. I will tell your grandma about your decision. I'm leaving now. But your bodyguards are everywhere; don't worry," Fierro informs Kirko. But Kirko snorted and said, "They are everywhere, but it was my nurse who saved me from the assassin. Don't waste money. Find more efficient bodyguards." Fierro leaves the room, shaking his head. "That nurse is really something," he murmurs as he goes. But he was startled when Chleo came out from the dark corner of the hotel lobby. "Are you talking to yourself?" Chleo asked Fierro. "The fudge! What are you saying there?" he exclaimed. "Waiting for you to leave." Then Chleo turned her back to go back to Kirko's room. "I'm going to have a heart attack because of her. How can my boss manage to stay with her for a long period of time?" Fierro leaves the hotel. He has a lot of explaining to do to Kirko's parents and grandparents. ***** Meanwhile, Chleo goes back to Kirko's room to continue the therapy on his legs. "Your assistant is weird," Chleo commented as she massaged Kirko's leg. "Ahu!" Kirko got choked with his own saliva. "Really, huh? Is he weird to you? Well, he felt the same way towards you." "He finds me weird too," Chleo inquired. And Kirko can't help but laugh at Chleo's question and expression. "Why are you laughing?" Chleo asked again, still with a serious expression on her face. "Nothing. By the way, my family wants to transfer me to another hotel, and I want you to go with me," Kirko informed Chleo. Chleo's brow furrows at what she heard. "You still want me to come with you? Even though you already know about my identity?" she asked. "Yes," Kirko replied. Chleo stopped massaging Kirko's leg and looked at him. "Why? Your life might be in danger because of me." "My life is in danger too because of my family's enemies. So, it's not a big deal anymore if there's an assassin hunting you. Were just the same." Kirko shrugged his shoulders. "Do you like me?" Chleo asked, raising her brows. "Come again? I like you. Where did you get that idea? Are you being delusional? I'm Kirko Hanasawa, the most sought-after bachelor, a famous athlete, and a billionaire. Why would I get attracted to a weird woman like you?" Kirko reacted exaggeratedly. When he looks at Chleo, it's as if he sees a dark aura around her. Then he remembered the syringe in her pocket. He faked a cough and said, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to insult you or whatever." "Whatever. But for your information, I'm not one of those women who would die just to kiss your feet," Chleo utters, and it's Kirko's turn to get disappointed. He scoffed. "We are going to leave tonight. So, you had better pack your things. They have already doubled my bodyguards; you don't have to worry about our safety." "Did I agree to go with you?" "As if you have a choice. You are my nurse. That's why you are going wherever I go," Kirko declared.
