A bad ending? or good?

1006 Words
After the meal was over, Dean carefully wiped the food from his mouth as Aria continued to sip her wine, already past her third glass this evening. At least it helped her ease her tension a little as she's now bobbing her head to no music. The waitress comes back with the card scanner and places it on the counter with a smile on her face. "We'll take the bottle and another exact one." Dean says and Aria nearly chokes on the wine, staring at him in horror. "Very well sir." she smiles and taps against the card machine before placing it on the table and directing it to Aria. "The total, ma'am." Aria swallows hard and reaches out to it, only to have Dean snatch it from the other end and scan his card against it instead, approving the payment. "Thank you for eating with us. Have a good evening." The waitress bows. "I'll have the bottles packed and ready to go." Dean nods as he puts his credit card back into his wallet, only to pause when he senses Aria staring at him. and she is, in confusion. "I insisted I'd pay." She frowns at him and clenches her card. "Are you assuming I can't afford it?" "No." He shakes his head and sighs. "Ms. Aria, you already paid for dinner, earlier. I paid for the inconvenience of changing dinner plans. No need to pay twice, otherwise I would owe you instead." She pauses and slowly nods in realization, finally understanding why he was so kin on paying it himself. She'd already paid her part of the bargain. "But you didn't even eat it." she says, "how is that paying for dinner?" "It doesn't matter who ate it." he shrugs and straightens his back as the waitress comes back with the bottles placed in a gift bag. "You can have the wines, since you enjoyed it the most." The waitress raises her brows and moves the gift bag towards Aria before leaving. "Both?!" Aria gasps and shakes her head. "I can't –." "–Let's not be stubborn, Ms. Aria." Dean says in a low tone as he gets up. "I just want to get it for you, because you liked it." Aria feels her heart skip a beat as she stares up at her boss, the way he looks, under the restaurant light and the street lamps outside highlight his appeal more than usual. The shade around them felt like she is starring in a movie, a movie about a handsome boss asking out his employee and taking her back to his place for some alone time... In your dreams. She shakes her head and stands up as she nods and looks at the bottles. "Thank you..." she says in a low voice and he nods softly, staring at how she's standing almost constricted... blushing and barely audible. Something thuds in his chest. "You must have driven here." He says as he clears his throat and looks at his wrist watch. "It's very late." "I... I take the bus, usually." She smiles as she points to the bus stop whilst taking the wine bottles from the table. They begin to walk out of the restaurant, only to be met by a small breeze that nearly lifts Aria's dress completely, but Dean manages to hold it down before it reveals too much. Her heart skips a beat as her eyes widen when his hands grip the dress around her thighs, the closeness of his face to her waist makes her suck her stomach in completely. It feels like eternity for the breeze to sweep by and when it does, Dean sighs in relief and straightens her dress down before leaning back. "That was unexpected..." he says, only to pause as he notices her flustered face, and how close they were. He could almost feel her warm breath fanning against his face as his eyes lock onto hers. He could hear, in the silence of his heart thudding against his chest as he finds himself simply staring... lost in the trance her eyes put him in. "Excuse me." A couple from the restaurant clear their throat and Aria instantly steps away from the door apologetically, only to stand far too close into Dean with her back pressed into his front. "Sorry." Aria bows at the couple and sighs as she watches them walk away before slowly looking up at her boss who is looking away, flustered. "Oh, sorry." She steps back when she notices how close she was and sighs in embarrassment. "I... I'll get going." "I can drop you off." He says and Aria shakes her head in denial. "you've done enough... I don't need any more... have a goodnight... Mr. Davon." She bows slightly and turns to the bus that's just arrived to her luck. She smiles and turns to Dean, waving at him before getting on. He stands there, staring at her through the windows of the bus as he watches her greet almost all the passengers with a wide grin on her face. Before taking a seat next to a woman who seems to know her. Slowly slipping his hands into his pockets, he eases his shoulders as he continues to watch while the woman and her start to marvel at the wine he bought for her, making him let out an airy chuckle. Without warning she glances out of the bus and searches for him, finding him in a second which makes his body tense up. She smiles and waves at him again to which he actually returned, though not as enthusiastic as she did as the bus starts to drive off, leaving him to his thoughts. He watches the bus for a moment as it drives off into the night. It is the first date he'd ever been to, even though it wasn't for personal reasons... A part of him is just glad he managed to hold a conversation and dinner with a woman... He is getting progress.
