-I am so excited that you're actually coming out with me tonight! You work too much and it's about time you meet someone! Ahh!!
My friend Lucille was sitting at the edge of my bed almost falling off the bed. She was so excited.
-I'm only going out with you tonight, because you kept blowing up my phone for the past two weeks begging me to come and promising me a good time.
Lucille and I have been friends for over 10 years and she makes it her life's mission to make me go out as often as possible. Tonight was no different. The only difference about tonight was the fact that she was a little too excited about my going out. It could very well be about this guy she swears is perfect for me and I for him.
I shudder to think of what lies ahead at this party she's taking me to.
I put my dress on, and turned in her direction, "remind me again why I have to go out tonight". I shook my head and turned to face the mirror.
Lucille got off the bed, "because you need to go out there and meet new people you need to meet a man to put some spice in your life. That dress is amazing though. Your boobs look great" she winked and added, "Micah is going to lose it when you guys finally meet."
Here we go with this Micah. From what she's told me, this man was beautiful, fine, athletic, tall, dark, and handsome, "and did I mention fine?",
-How do you know this guy again? I asked.
-He's a friend of Steven's. They met in high school and college.
-How come I'm just now hearing about him? You and Steven have been together for 6 years.
-Well Micah lived overseas since they graduated from college. He came back a couple of months ago and he's here to stay.
-Well good for him.
-Good for you too. She smiled and winked.
-Why are you so hell bent on me meeting this guy? For all we know, he won't be the least bit interested.
-For one, you've been celibate for too long and as your friend, my feelings are hurt. And second, why wouldn't he be interested? You are a beautiful woman, you have a great career and you deserve to have someone to make you happy. And throw that back out once in a while.
I gasped and my jaw dropped. I was speechless. Lucille chuckled, "stop acting like you don't me by now. No filter over here."
I sighed "still baffling", and continued to do my makeup.
