Sage POV.
My dreams is filled with chaos. I walk in heat, fire is consuming me and I can't breath. My body is on fire, the pain is the only thing that tells me I'm still alive. The pain gets me back to reality and I know I can relay on the pain. Pain has always been my guideline. When he tortures me, I would always feel the pain and welcome it as a long, lost friend. That's what keeps me alive. I'm consumed in fire, my world is fire. I walk in hell and I welcome it, take me away from this pain, away from this life.
---------------------
A weird beeping sound drags me out of my dreams. The pain is gone, and now I'm really scared. What the hell is happening?
'Sia?' I call out to my wolf, hoping she can tell me what's going on. But all I'm met with is silence. I feel alone in my head, no growling, no snarling and the most important, no pain. I feel someone touch my arm but I can't open my eyes. I feel a dot on my arm and then nothing. No warmth, no pain, no nothing.
"I think she's waking up, call him." I hear a faint voice near me. Where am I? And who is he? Jack?! I feel my heart beating faster, my breathing is shallow and I feel dizzy.
"Calm down, Sage. You're okay." Someone says to me, and I feel a hand on my arm. I'm panicking and I open my eyes and scream. My voice fills the air and I hear whimpers and screams echoing around me. I keep screaming until the air has left my lungs.
I sit up and look around me, a big guy in a white, medical smock is laying on the floor with a head wound and two girls is laying next to him. I'm in a hospital, machines are beeping everywhere. The door gets ripped open and in front of me is the most handsome man I have ever seen. He looks around at the man and the girls when his eyes finally locks onto mine.
I stare into his cobalt blue eyes and feel myself drown in them. He seems familiar but I can't recall from where. He has dark brown hair, cut short on the sides and longer on the top. He has a sharp jaw and his body is full of muscles. He's wearing a black suit which almost look to small on his massive body.
He looks at me and walks over to me. I shrink when he gets closer. Fear takes over my body and I start to hyperventilate.
"Calm down, little wolf." He's voice holds authority and I feel Sia stirring in my mind. He's voice sends a shiver down my spine, it's husky and raw.
"Where am I?" Is all I can ask him. I don't remember anything other than Jack and his beta, Oliver, beating me with a whip.
"You're in my house. I brought you here after I saved you from Alpha Jack." He says it like it's the most obvious thing. He looks at his phone, texting someone and then he looks at me again. He's staring into my soul and I look away.
"Where's Jack now?" I choke out, my mind going numb by his presences. He lifts his hand up to my face and I flinch. He stops moving but after a while he moves again. He touch my cheek and sparks erupt on my skin. I snap my eyes to his cobalt ones and Sia is awake.
'Mate.' 4 letters, one word. My life is ruined once again. His cobalt orbs look at me and I snap out of my thoughts.
"Jack is dead, I killed him." Relief fills my body and I feel like I can finally breathe again. 7 years. 7 long years of being tortured and abused by him. My mate. The one who should protect me from harm.
His hand keeps caressing my cheek and he touch my scar. I move away from his touch and close my eyes which make him growl.
"Don't do that." His words is harsh and I can feel the anger radiating from him.
"Look at me." It's an order but I fail to obey. I'm not a weak wolf. I can disobey him when others can't. He grab my jaw and turn my face with a gentle touch. I open my eyes and look into his. He swipes away a tear I didn't even notice was falling.
"I know he hurt you. I know what you have been through. His death was not pleasant, I can promise you that." He growls in the end. Anger is filling his eyes but he keeps looking at me.
'He's our mate, Sage. Trust him.' Sia encourage me. But I can't trust him. I trusted Jack and look where that got me. He removes his hand and step away from me. He looks at his phone again and then at me with cold eyes.
"I think I can make this work. Come with me." He murmurs. I blink before I realize what he just said.
"I'm not coming with you?" I move away from him. He narrow his eyes and take a deep breath.
"You're coming with me. That's an order. I'm your mate." His voice is low and dangerous. He looks at me like I'm a predator and he will enjoy eating me. He steps closer to me and I instinctively move away from him. Sia paces in my head, trying to calm me.
'Trust him, Sage. He won't harm us. He only wants to keep you safe." She whispers in her bad attempt to convince me. I can feel her unease.
"I already have a mate and I.." I don't get to finish my sentence before he grabs a table and throw it against the wall. His eyes is red like blood and I back away from him out of fear. I can feel my heart pound against my ribcage and his aura is suffocating me.
"What?!" He snarls. His eyes drill a hole in my skull and I shrink further away.
"Who?" His voice is deadly low. His eyes keeps switching from cobalt to red and I know he's having a hard time controlling his wolf.
"No one touches what is mine!" He growls with a force that leave me shaken like a leaf. The door burst open and a man comes in with a worried look. He looks at me and then at his Alpha.
"Valens, calm down man. You're scaring her." The man tries to calm him down but to no vain. He tries to hold Valens off when he takes a step closer to me. Sia is pacing, she's scared but she wants to be closer to him at the same time.
"Who is your mate? I will rip him to pieces." His voice is far more raw and animalistic now. His wolf is in control. I swallow down my salvia.
"Y-you already killed him. It was Jack." He stops tracing against the other mans hold and look at me like I was crazy.
"What? That makes no sense. Jack already had a mate and he was far to old to be mated to you." He sneers. I look down at my palms. The scars on them reminds me of the torture he conflicted me every single day. How he came down at night and touched me while I screamed.
"That's what he told me when he bought me and my brother." I gasp out loud. My brother! How could I forget him! I look with wide eyes at the man named Valens.
"Where is my brother?!" I exclaime and jump out of the bed. He looks at the man and then at me.
"He's sleeping." He tells me in a cold voice.
"I want to see him." I command but I see my mistake to late. Anger roams around the room and he steps closer to me. I can feel his breath on my face when he leans in only an inch from my ear.
"Don't command me, little wolf. I can eat you alive." I gulp and take a step back. I look into his red eyes. My breath hiss as I'm going to answer but he cuts me off.
"You will see him tomorrow. It's getting late, I will talk to the doctor about your release. Stay here." He orders me and I sit back down on the bed. I watch him go out of the room with the other man and the moment the doors closes, I look for another way out of here. The room is big, like ridiculously big. The walls is white and the place is very sterile. There's a door to my right and I walk over to it and open the door. It's a big bathroom and to my luck, it has a window. I open the window and look out. s**t, I'm on the 10th or 11th floor.
I search the buildings surface for any escape ideas and decide to try and climb down the windowsills. I climb out the window and jump down to the next floors windowsill. I keep jumping from sill to sill until I'm on the ground. I look up at the open window just in time to see the other guy look down at me and curse.
"f**k!" He growls.
"Sage, come back here!" He yells but I turn around and start running towards the forest that surrounds the hospital. I run as fast as I can and holt when I reach a clearing. I look around, taking in my surroundings.
'Now what, Sage? You can't get out of here, just go back to him, please.' Sia whimpers in my mind. For some reason she trusts him, she should know better. 'We can't go back, he will hurt us just like Jack. How can you trust him, you don't know him.' I growl at her for being so naive.
I look around again and start running. The woods is getting thicker by the second and the sun is going down. Sia is fightning for the control. She trust the mate bond but I don't.
I hear a twig snap and I look to my right. Nothing but darkness. I turn my face to the left but a body collides with mine. Pain combined with sparkles erupt on my body while we roll over the branches and leafs. My ribs get crushed under his weight and the air is knocked out of my lungs.
