chapter 3 : Elisa's remarkable role.

Elisa's easy-going nature gave Jennifer the pleasure to work with her, and she found herself completely convinced that she had discovered the perfect person for the role left vacant by Mary who had suddenly left the palace.

There was something special about her that drew people in, and Jennifer felt a sense of excitement about the potential that lay within her. It was at that moment of realization that the manageress decided to share her thoughts with the Queen for approval, she was eager to highlight the extraordinary qualities that Elisa possessed.

As she prepared to present her observations, Jennifer couldn’t shake the feeling that this was just the beginning of something beautiful. Elisa was destined for greatness, and Jennifer was determined to help her shine in the spotlight she so richly deserved. The bond between them had started to grow stronger, and there was also a deeper connection that transcended mere duty.

After dinner, Jennifer swiftly moved to the living room and approached the Queen, she was eager to discuss something important. The Queen looked at Jennifer curiously, encouraging her to continue. She took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts.

"Your Majesty, I apologize for interrupting, but we need to talk about the new girl who joined us recently. I truly believe, she is more than capable of meeting the royal family's needs. She seems knowledgeable and skilled, and I feel there's no reason to keep searching for someone else to replace Mary.

I am confident that you will be impressed with her skills and services. There’s also something magical about her, and I have already grown fond of her.” As she spoke, the Queen's gaze drifted towards Elisa, who was diligently cleaning the utensils nearby. The sight of her working so gracefully only reinforced Jennifer's admiration.

The Queen listened intently, nodding in agreement. “Thank you for bringing this to my attention, Jennifer. It’s good to hear such positive feedback because it seems like we share the same thoughts. Many have admired Elisa's work and the king himself has recommended her for the role. She appears to excel even beyond Mary, who had served us for several years.

Perhaps we should give her a chance and see how she performs. I believe my son made a wise decision by bringing her into the palace. Please go ahead and assign her some duties, as we watch her closely to see how she performs. Remember, she's only new in the palace and we barely know her."

The Queen's voice was filled with excitement, and Jennifer felt relieved as she spoke. Gratefully, she thanked the Queen and made her way towards Elisa, who was still focused on her task.

When Jennifer came over, Elisa felt a wave of happiness. Jennifer moved closer and asked, "Are you happy working with me for the royal family?" Elisa smiled and raised her eyebrows in excitement

"Of course, Jennifer! I'm excited to be working with you, far away from all the gossipers, especially that Margie—sorry to bring her name up though. May I know why you are asking?"

"I just spoke with the Queen about you. She’s impressed with your work, and so are the rest of the family members. We're going to give you a chance to prove yourself even more." Elisa's eyes sparkled with joy, barely able to contain her excitement when she heard this.

"Thank you so much, Jennifer! I promise to serve the royal family with all my heart. I won’t let you down because I've learned so much from you in the short time we've worked together, and that’s why I’m here. At your service Madam." Elisa teasingly remarked making Jennifer chuckle.

With a smile of encouragement, Jennifer knew that Elisa’s presence was going to bring a refreshing change to the royal family, and she enthusiastically felt hopeful.

However, not everyone was pleased with Elisa's exemplary performance. Margie, one of the maids who had always dreamed of serving the royal family, stood off to the side, her jealousy noticeable. She had tried so hard to impress the royals and more especially the Prince but she had never achieved the same grace and charm that Elisa effortlessly displayed.

As Elisa continued to impress everyone around her, Marggie’s resentment grew greater, setting the stage for even more tension in the palace. Unaware of the envy brewing behind her, Elisa focused on her duties, hoping to prove herself worthy of her new position and the Prince’s trust. She decided to ignore the challenges she faced from her rivalries and dedicated herself to the duties assigned to her.

However, the other maids were not impressed by her presence at all. They were consumed by envy and jealousy that harbored a deep-rooted resentment towards her. All this was fueled by their inability to match her exceptional qualities. But amidst a strong feeling of hatred, Elisa found comfort in the friendship and admiration of Kimberly the ranch’s foreman and all the other farm workers that he supervised. They, adored her, grateful for the kindness and respect she showed them whenever they visited the king in the palace.

As time passed by, Elisa’s endearing nature and genuine kindness endeared her to everyone in the palace, including the King himself. The palace was full of admiration for the young maid who possessed an inner radiance that could not be contained.
