We remained hidden until we saw the guards return to the house to look for me. And just in time, Xavier and I dash to his car.
It was too late when the guards noticed us because we were already inside Xavier's automobile.
"Go! Go! Go!" I said.
Xavier tried to start his car but it wouldn't start, "Goddamn it." Xavier uttered a curse.
While Xavier was attempting to start his car, I was staring out the window. "They're coming!" I exclaimed as I noticed the guards sprinting towards us.
"C'mon not now!" Xavier kept cursing his automobile, and I guess it worked because the car started. He drove away before the guards could reach us. However, as we drove away from the rest stop, we heard gunshots. "Duck, Sia!" the guards were shooting at us.
