Sia's Point of view
When we arrived at Arthur's home, Alvin was waiting outside to offer his greetings, and all of the housemaids were present as well.
When I first saw his property, my mouth dropped open since it seemed like a luxurious resort. It had a vast footprint, an abundance of car models, and a gleaming golden entrance gate. Because the interior was so gorgeous, it gives the impression that you are in the 1990s.
As soon as we got out of the car, he instantly gave Alvin a hug.
"Welcome home, Mr." Alvin greeted.
"Thank you," Arthur said in response.
I joined the workmen in unloading Arthur's luggage from my car. After talking to all of them for a while, I was going to leave when Arthur grabbed my hand and prevented me from leaving. He gave the worker next me a serious look, and the worker quickly grabbed up all of the stuff and walked away. I focused my attention on the walking man, who appeared to be terrified.
"Can you tell me why you're leaving? "Let's go get some lunch, I'm hungry," Arthur entices me.
"Umm.. say please?" I should leave sooner, but his look encourages me to stay.
"Please,"
It's not like I can blame myself for wanting more of him and wanting to get to know him better. I want to know all of the answers that have been lingering in my head.
Alvin stood nearby, looking at us as we got in the dining room, which had all of his favorite foods. Alvin had clearly made a special effort for Arthur's come back.
"Wow, how are we going to eat all of this?" My eyes widened seeing all the food on the table.
"Alvin, you should join us," Arthur uttered.
"I'm okay, Sir," Alvin refused.
"Oh.. C'mon, sit next to me and let's eat!" I said excitedly and grabbed Alvin right next to mine.
I was concerned that there might be too much food for the three of us to handle. If I could ask all of his maids to join us, I would, but I already know that they won't say yes.
"Just eat whatever you want and you can," Arthur blurted out.
We started eating in complete silence; no one dared to speak, and everyone was extremely cautious with their movements. Only the cutlery touching the plates and the sound of fire in the fireplace were audible.
I finally muster up the confidence to ask, "So, where have you been?" Mr. Wilson?"
"Japan."
"Would you mind sharing... uh... are you on vacation?" or anything?"
"Uhm, Ms. Moore, I think it's better if we just eat peacefully," Alvin said, interrupting my questions.
"I'm just curious," I said further.
"You two can talk after this," Alvin said, causing me to wonder why he was interrupting us. Was there anything private he doesn't want me to know?
Arthur set down his cutlery and locked his gaze on me across the table.
"I attended a funeral. Now, if you please let me eat in peace I would appreciate it,"
I was stunned; a funeral for whom?
"Enough, Ms. Sia, just eat, please," When Alvin got closer to me, it was a signal for me not to say any further. He appeared to be terrified of his boss, as seen by the way he was shivering.
"Shut up, Alvin, you're scaring her," Arthur remarked.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Arthur, if you please excuse me, I need to get your room ready," Alvin said as he stood up and walked upstairs quickly.
"Are you like this, always?" Another word came out of my mouth.
"Like what?" Arthur responded, but this time he wasn't staring at me, but at the food in front of him, which he wouldn't even touch.
"Telling people to shut the f**k up?"
"It's annoying, doesn't it?"
"I'm just asking a question.. Arthur,"
"Why do you even care?"
I am at a loss for words; I have no idea how to respond to that question. "I... I...," I tried to say, but nothing came out of my mouth. Right? Why should I care? Was I being too rash to ask that? Am I being insensitive?
"See.. you can't give me enough reason why you care about me so much, huh, besides I was just being nice to you earlier because I need a ride home."
"Right.. I apologize; I had the impression that you had a naturally pleasant personality, but it turns out that I was wrong." Now I see why no one wants to pick him up or get close to him, except Alvin.
"Yeah.. well that's me Sia, if you cannot deal with it, the door is open for you to leave,"
"I hate you!"
"Hate me all you want! Ms. Moore,"
"I don't want to see you again, asshole!"
"Sounds good to me," Arthur smirked before leaving me alone at the table.
That was intense; I walked out of his house while Alvin chased after me. I turned to look at him while I was crying.
"I'm sorry, you must be overwhelmed by his attitude," he said when he reached him. He offered me his handkerchief to wipe my tears.
"Does he always act like that? really? "How do you keep working for him for so long?" While sobbing, I said.
Alvin gave me a pat on the shoulder before assisting me in getting into the car. He offered to give me a ride, but I declined his offer since I just want some time to myself. I don't want to talk to anyone. I have no interest in continuing to interact with him or even Arthur at this point.
I was so infuriated, and as a result, I drove away from his enormous house at such a breakneck speed that it seemed to shrink in size as I got farther away from it. It was already quite dark outside, and an endless rain was falling; Celine was calling, but I did not answer.
'I just want to be alone,' was all I could think.
Why did it have such an impact on me? I had no idea where to go, and I wanted to be somewhere far away from here.
I continued driving and driving till I came upon a park in the middle of nowhere. While I was driving as quickly as I could in the direction of my destination, I came across a truck coming in the same way as me. After that, the next thing I knew, my car had been involved in an accident, and I was stuck inside of it in the inverted position.
What in the world happened? Was I going to die? s**t. Since I was going too quickly, I didn't have enough time to step on the brake when I needed to.
I was still inside my vehicle when I heard a disturbance outside. When I looked out the window, I noticed that there were a lot of lights, and they were making it difficult for me to see. I looked down into a ravine, which was a deep, narrow gorge with steep sides, and noticed that my car was quite close to falling into it.
Because of the excruciating pain in my head, I was unable to continue staying awake any longer. I had just closed my eyes and was getting ready to face the reality that I was going to die, when I felt someone grab my shoulders and pull me from the car.
"What the hell happened to you?" His voice reverberated in my head despite the fact that there were so many other sounds around me.
I know it was Arthur. That was the last thing I could remember before I completely lost consciousness.
