It has been seven days since I was thrown into the dungeon at the Daisy moon pack. This includes the four days I was unconscious. The talk with Jesse, his betá, and his gamma went smoothly. I noticed some distrust at the meeting but I knew they had every right to. I told them the most relevant things about the elders. Things like how they retrieve recruits and what our training program looks like. I also told them about what happened when I got caught and the words spoken through the speaker. Jesse looked angry when I told him the details. It almost felt as if he was angry at the elders for doing these things to me but I did not understand why. Yes, we were mates but we were also strangers to each other. After the meeting, Jesse led me to a gigantic room with a private bathroom which I turned down immediately. I ran outside, enjoying the rain on my face. He never tried to follow me, for which I was grateful. I walked around the packhouse until I found an old and abandoned stable. It seems like they used it to stored straw and hay. I took the opportunity to build a tiny fortress with the hay, claiming it as my new temporary home. While I laid there, I thought about the future. What would the future hold for me? I heard footsteps approach me. I jumped into a fighting stance while looking for a weapon. There was nothing in sight. A fistfight it is. The smell of Cherries and cinnamon penetrated my nose and I let out a sigh of defeat. “I know your in here. I brought you some food. Why did you choose the old stable over a normal bedroom? This does not look that comfortable?” I stepped from behind the straw and my eyes went straight to the food in his hand. My belly made a weird noise and I thought back to the last time I ate. It was almost a week ago. A piece of me wanted to snatch the plate with eggs out of his hand but I would never submit to that kind of weakness. He probably saw the consideration in my eyes as he put the plate in front of me before stepping back. It made me suspicious. Did I trust him enough? What if he poisoned me? My wolf screamed to grab the plate. She knew I was getting weak fast. He sighed and took a tiny piece of egg. He put the piece in his mouth and chewed loudly. “See? It's delicious!” This broke my determination. I snatched the plate from the bale of straw and sniffed the food one more time for traces of poison. Nothing, good. I took a bite and it tastes weird but good. It had been a while since I had anything else than red meat. Unfortunately, my stomach had the same thought. I turned around just in time to throw up. “f**k, sorry. I guess, I am not used to this kind of food. I lived most of my life on raw meat”. Not being able to eat something so simple as an egg made me feel weak. I knew I had no strength left to hunt as my wolf was exhausted so I went back to my homemade bed. Jesse left me alone and I fell asleep quickly. Again having the same nightmare. There really was no possible escape. I jolted awake only to be spooked by a wolf sitting close to my bed. I immediately knew it was Jesse. I recognized his brown fur from my dream. He looked sad as if something happened. He was covered in blood but to my observation, not his own. He dropped something which made me crawl closer to him. It was the leg of a deer. He gave the leg a small push in my direction before walking away. I quickly changed into my wolf and devoured the meat, enjoying every bite. Afterward, I decided to wash my wolf in a river close by. An unfamiliar smell penetrated my nose and I knew to be alert. I focused on my hearing. 2 heartbeats meant two wolves. I pulled back into the water, hoping to stay unnotified. I was not lucky. They arrived at the river banks while sniffing the air. The grey colored one spotted me in the water and let out a low growl, alerting the brown one. I stood up from the water and made my way out of the river. Me touching the sand resulted in another series of growls only this time they initiated a fight. They jumped into me at the same time but I saw them coming. I turned away last moment, making them race past me. They tried this a couple of times but I managed to stay away from their mauls. They stood in front of me huffing and puffing. Their eyes lost their glow and I knew I was in trouble. The brown wolf howled to attract more warriors and I heard multiple wolves reply. I stepped back into the water but froze when I heard growls behind me. I was surrounded. Great. I straightened my back and made myself look dangerous before growling back. This caused two wolves to break the circle and attack me. I dodged them too late and one of them bit down on my right shoulder. I pushed my injured shoulder back against the snout of the attacker. I then, ran past him, diving to the other wolf. I slide over the ground while biting down on one of his legs. He whined and held his paw up. This caused three others to dive on top of me. I fought them as good as possible but eventually, they gained the upper hand. One of the wolves came at me. He paraded as if he was the one in charge. His eyes beamed with pleasure as the wolves held me down to the ground. He placed his teeth around my trachea, ready to bite down and crush it. I gave him a look, daring him to kill me until another howl was heard. The wolf turned his head to growl at the intruder but stepped back as soon as he saw his alpha stepping closer. The circle broke as they let their alpha inside. Jesse grabbed the neck of the wolf before throwing him off me. The other wolves had stepped back as well, leaving me weak on the ground. Jesse's wolf whined at seeing me wounded again. He growled loud, making all wolves bow in submission. He sat next to me, licking my shoulder. It stopped the bleeding making me look at him in wonder. I crawled up and leaned into him. I was so tired. Tired of the fighting, tired of losing the ones I care about, and tired of living at all. I wanted to die but he was not planning on giving up on me. He lifted me into his arms before taking me back to the packhouse and into a room. He asked me to shift back and gave me a robe. He made sure to clean me before pushing me onto a bed. I relaxed a bit. This bed was just so soft, and I was so tired. Jesse crawled next to me and held me against his chest. I sniffed him, enjoyed his scent. My wolves purred at his touch and fell asleep. It did not take long for me to follow her example of falling into a dreamless sleep.
