Chapter 5

Natty’s POV:

As Clifton and I walked up the stairs hand in hand to my room I couldn’t help but blush a little at the man who’s walking with me he’s just too perfect with his sleaked curly red hair and those dazzling green eyes and beautifully chiseled face and body. When we got to the floor where my room was I started to walk slower hoping he didn’t notice it, but of course no such luck “why you walking so slow? Don’t want to be without me huh?” Clifton said with a teasing smile, I dropped my head in shame he began to laugh and say “damn I can still read you to easy, want me to go in the room with you?” I looked at him wide eyed and began to blink really fast at what I was hearing as I looked back down again “don’t worry the door will stay open, I don’t plan on doing that with you so soon alright?” Instead I thought that about my father “can we go to the orchard instead?” I asked him I happened to notice that Clifton had stiffened before he turned around with a troubled look on his face. I could tell he was worried about me and my feelings towards my father. “Don’t worry Cliffy I’ll be alright I just wanna see it for a little while if that’s alright” he sighed in defeat and gave me a smile.

As we started to walk out the door “hey you two wait for me!” Kyle said he had a few baskets on his arm. “I thought since you guys are going to the orchard I’d join you just in case plus the fact that we needed more fruit for Dessert tonight” he said while looking at us and smiling, “your a bit of a foodie aren’t you?” I asked while letting out a giggle, he smiled while laughing and nodded. Clifton couldn’t help but scold him with his eyes for a second while shaking his head he let out a light chuckle.

After we collected some fruit for later, I was trying to get a really tasty looking gold apple I felt myself being lifted up and put on someone’s shoulder when I looked down I saw Clifton holding me on his shoulder “didn’t you want that apple? Shouldn’t you get it? Or are you enjoying the view?” He said with a sly and flirty voice I didn’t even think that possible but I just grabbed the apple I was after and asked him “are you enjoying the view?” I said in a flirty way, he just looked at me and blushed I swear he had to close to tomato red.

“Are two done yet? Or do I need to leave with the baskets?” Kyle said with a hint of sarcasm. Clifton quickly snapped out of it and gently put me down but as he was putting me down I misstepped and started to fall. I closed my eyes waiting for the impact to happen but I didn’t except I landed on something soft yet hard.

I slowly opened my eyes and found I was in Clifton’s arms my heart was beating so fast I couldn’t believe how close to each other we were he started to get closer and closer i kept looking at Clifton’s lips and back at his beautiful eyes then while we were in heaven “uhm!” Kyle clearing his throat snapped both our heads toward the noise “I hate to interrupt the beautiful touching moment between you two but there seems to be an issue here” Kyle said while moving his eyes and head toward what he meant.

When Clifton and I both stood up straight and looked back at what Kyle was talking about I wanted to scream! It was not one not two but five damn werewolves!?. All I could think in this moment was are they here for me? Is this a random attack? What’s going to happen?! As one charged toward us all I closed my eyes and screamed “NO!!”. When I opened my eyes again I didn’t see anyone around me I looked in front as well as in back but then it dawned on me to look up. As I was looking up I saw five confused wolves and a very confused and slightly agitated fiancée with his best friend who is giving a am I about to die look on his face. Clifton took a deep breath and said Natty baby? Can you put my and Kyle down now?” That’s got to be the first time Clifton ever called me baby I have to admit I liked it a lot, as I was focusing on Clifton I tried to just concentrate and put Clifton and Kyle down gently and sure enough after a deep breath and me slowly putting my hands down they came down. “You did good baby! I’m so proud of you” Clifton said as he held my cheek I couldn’t help but rub my face in it a little.

As Clifton removed his hand from my face I was a little upset when he did that. “We should take care of them while we have the chance” said Clifton “agreed” Kyle said with determination. I can’t fully explain how but the two of them killed the five wolves that were suspended in the air, oddly I wasn’t afraid or disgusted when they both were covered in the blood of the wolves in fact I didn’t even notice that I fell onto my knees after witnessing everything.

“I think it’s time I explain what exactly I am to you since I think you noticed I’m not a supernatural being like you or them, let’s go inside you can wait in your room while we get cleaned up I’ll knock before we come in” Clifton said, I just nodded and got up off the ground as I did I noticed I was about to forget the baskets of fruit we all just picked. I picked up the baskets and made my way to the kitchen thankfully some of my memories were returning to me so I remembered where the kitchen was located. I put the fruit on a nearby counter and made my way to my room.

Once I made it to my room I went straight to the chaise and decided I wanted to read a book while I wait for them. I went over to the bookshelf and one particular book stood out from the rest. Supernatural Soulmate. As I opened it something fell out it’s a picture of me and Clifton when we were younger and he was staring at me the way he does now. Just as I was about to read the first chapter the knock I was waiting for came. “Come in” I said.

“Natty I know you have some questions as to how you used telekinesis and where those wolves came from as well as how Kyle and I were able to kill them fast” Clifton said with a worried look on his face. “Yes I do have questions about all of that, but you don’t have to tell me right now if you don’t want to or even if think I might not be ready for it.” I said in a calm like manner but truthfully I’m freaking out here!!
