Don't close a whole book because you found one thing you disagree with. Same can be said for a person... if you have boundaries within yourself to sort through and process the information in its totality, you have the power to reach virtually anyone. If you spend your life closing books, you'll find yourself never expanding your perspective to truly live in this world completely. With such a limited view on your own reality, its no question as to why you're miserable. Nobody really wants to be around a judgmental asshole no matter how much you think that what you believe is right, just, or compassionate. You're so busy hating people with opposite views that you're not seeing that its poisoning you as a person. You think you're fighting for love and peace but you're breeding chaos with this contradiction. You're fighting for your way and you're fighting against free will. If we truly put down our fists and believe that compassion and love is the way, why do we not practice it? Not just with our loved ones but with the ones we claim to be our enemies. There is no good and evil in this world... there is only the reason why. There's right and wrong within this world but that is within our actions. And many actions can be both because everything we do and every choice we make has a price. Now try being a leader. Everything you do impacts everyone who follows you. You will reach a point where there's no single action that you do that won't hurt a massive group of people in some way. Whether you lead by yourself or with help. When things go wrong it will be your fault. Everything right will be in hind sight and everything wrong will be at your doorstep. You'll be called incompitent, greedy, and everything that you know you're not. You'll be accused of lies and you will spread to everywhere like wildfire. But as a leader, you see the big picture and you know you're doing your best. Nothing you do or believe will satisfy everyone. A big part of this big picture is that humanity, in its totality, will always have a choice between having that free will in a dystopian world or extinguishing free will to live in a utopia (but also trusting that there's no ulterior motives in those who create it or are in control. But if we step back, we see that there is a third way. To create a utopia within ourselves that preserves not only our will but the free will of others. To see those that do harm to themselves or others not as enemies but as those who have fallen from themselves and fail to see their true value in this world. You are not my enemy and i will not fight you. I wont try to make you walk a different path but i will show you love. A love that all of us have a capacity to give. I will help you build happiness by your standards. Not mine or anyone else. Why? Because you deserve the best in this life and i see you. You may have done wrong but we all do things we're not proud of. We shouldn't be ashamed of our past, we shouldn't tell ourselves that we can't be better... that we can't do better. Even the worst conceivable actions leave with a single truth... no matter what is done or the impact it has... the sun will always rise tomorrow. We all have to move forward and live our lives. We live with the consequences and we live but the best thing we can do is learn and grow. Because when we truly change for the better within ourselves, that's more justice for everyone we hurt in our past. The broken hearts, the tears, and the lives that fell apart live with us every day we look in that mirror. We all have those demons scratching at the doors of our minds. We cannot change the pain we've caused, we cannot change the pain we've felt, but we can change ourselves to be better and stronger for the lives we've lived. We can teach ourselves to reach others and have compassion. However, we cannot effectively have compassion if we are so selective as to who we give it to. Universal love isn't about picking and choosing, its about being present, hearing, and seeing the person before you. It's about letting them lay out a path before them and letting them come to a conclusion on what really makes them happy. The sad part is that those who choose such a path are often alone. They have few they can really turn to because the only thing that makes them feel powerless is beyond any level of control that anyone has. They cannot speak because to speak from the heart would change a person's path to happiness within their vision. Best you can do as that guardian angel is to slowly fade away and wrap your wings around someone else. Maybe they'll see your wings, maybe they won't. Maybe they'll see the person with the wings and love you. Even angels have dreams. Here I've laid out many paths with great sacrifice for each. Some may say we take a lot of these paths within our lifetime. To deny any of these is to deny ourselves in our experiences in this life. We've all faced such things because we are human. We can hide from our shadow or we can recognize that it's also part of it. Reality is that we all cast a shadow for the world to see if we are willing to simply look at it. Most of the world will see what it wants to see but it just takes a glance to see the truth. Remember that.
