Prologue
Inside a dark but partially illuminated abandoned warehouse, two souls filled with excessive gladness brag about their successful deceitful plans. The duo sits face to face on old wooden chairs in the grave quiet building.
“Tell me. How'd you stage it?”
“My actions drove her crazy!” He gesticulates his vibrant hands in the air.
“You’re such a player Man!”
“Yeah, that’s what I do.”
“No, that’s who you are.”
“All the same, we are what we repeatedly do.” They both stared with a smile.
Over the years, they have kept their friendship secret from family members, co-workers and everyone connected to them.
“What'd she say after you acted the script?”
“Her hormones were on fire with those lines!” His loud humorous laughter echoed to the dumb walls of the building. He blindly dips his hands into the 36-meter metal drum that stood at their centre. A medium-sized bag followed his hand out of it. “What? It’s empty!” He screams out of confusion after checking the bag. It had been thoroughly torn at the bottom!
“I’ll forever blame you for this. I trusted you from day one but you brought me bad luck! Huh???”
“Would you wipe off all my good deeds just because of a single mistake?” He snarls back at him.
“It was your idea for me to escape from the home that gave meaning to my soul. Isn’t it?”
“If you’d stayed, those figures on your bank balance would never be fully yours!”
“Fine, I know. But at least, I’ll be happy.” Remorse gripped his heart. “I don’t care how you’ll find it, just do!”
“Yeah, it’s safer in our hands than it is in anyone’s.”
“If you do, I’ll pay you off.”
The word ‘pay’ stretched his resting ears. “I remember! He stopped by us with a friendly look!”
“And I think someone else was beside me too!” His countenance reflected his thoughts as he tries to recapture the moment.
“Hey Man! Consider your diary found!”
They both stood up, smiled, patted each other on the back and walked out boldly with a mission to find the diary.
