Pretty Little Poison

Today was the first day of the rest of my life. The mantra that I always use on the first day back to school. This year we moved again because of my father and his “dealings”. I was dreading the day I turned eighteen, when a wolf turns eighteen their mate bond becomes active and that is when we imprint and mate with another wolf. The mate bond is something that can’t be broken. If it is, it means death for weaker wolves and pain beyond measure for stronger wolves. I’m not sure what it would mean for me, but I didn’t care. I was out of here when I was old enough and if it meant leaving in the middle of my first semester, so be it. “You’re going to be late for orientation.” Sally was my half-sister and she was the one who took care of me. Her mate was an omega in the pack. I smiled at her and put my hair up into a messy bun. She frowned and looked at my overly lined eyes and the chipped nail polish on my nails. “Why don’t you take a little more pride in your appearance?” I snorted and shoved my feet into the combat boots I kept by my bed. “Why should I take pride in my appearance? Who am I going to impress? No matter how I look they will torment me, Sally.” I hoisted my bag up on my shoulder and kissed her on the cheek. Sally came up behind me and wrapped her arms around my waist. I could feel the calming waves wash over me as my jitters and reservations about the new school. “It is a fresh start, Ollie, no one knows us. Only the inner circle of the pack knows about your father.” I winced as she brought up my father. “I’m the bastard child of a wolf who went crazy and killed her whole pack. My father is a criminal.” I felt the tears sting my eyes and I took a deep breath. “The Alpha of this pack knows, and he has kept his word so far about keeping your past quiet. He is also the one that managed to get you enrolled in the school.” I sighed and itched my knee. “Yes, and I am so grateful to be the charity case.” Sally’s arms tightened around me and then pushed me out the door where a black sedan was waiting. “You’re also riding to school today with Axel.” She slammed the door in my face and I was left standing on the steps. “I thought she was supposed to be the calm one. Why is she so irrational.” Scowling at the car I couldn’t help but feel as if there were a bullseye on my back. I opened the door and slunk in, my skirt started riding up and I heard a deep chuckle. “Well if you want me to spank you I can accommodate your desire.” The word desire came out in a purr. I scrambled over the seat and stomped on someone in the process. I tried to get my heart to calm down and saw a tall, well-built wall of muscle rubbing his legs where I stomped on them. He glared at me and I turned away. “You must be one of the Alpha’s sons. Look I don’t want to be here any more than you want me here.” I crossed my arms over my chest and stared out the window. “Oh, so you’re a prude as well. You can’t flash your ass and then act like a total ice princess.” I ignored him. I have dealt with cocky males before, they want to lay their paws all over me but whenever I turn them down, suddenly I’m a prude. “I think that is what your new name at the school shall be.” I shot him an annoyed look he was drumming his fingers on his thigh. He had the sharp angular jaw of a Korean Pop star. He caught me staring at him and grinned. “Am I that handsome that you can’t keep your eyes off me?” I shrugged and went back to my musings. He was attractive but why would I tell him that? “Nah at first I thought you looked a little like Seong Hwa from Ateez.” He seemed to practically fluff up with pride. Uggh disgusting. “Then I got a better look at you and decided that you were more of a designer imposter.” He was on me in seconds and snarled in my face. I was used to this behavior. I tried to push him off and he flattened himself further on me, his knee between my legs. The car stopped and I kicked into panic mode, what would happen if someone saw us like this? “Get off me asshole.” I tried pushing him again and he growled pinning my arms above my head. He was staring into my eyes and I swallowed. The door opened and I heard gasps and giggles as a crowd of students saw the new girl sprawled and panting under the Alpha’s son. He smirked and climbed off me. “Welc9ome to Blairsville Academy new girl.” I felt my cheeks burn with embarrassment as he straightened his tie and high-fived two other guys. The third in the group glowered at me with such hatred it made my blood freeze. It didn’t look like this school was going to be any different than my last one. I was already a target for one of the Alpha’s sons and I could hear the giggles and whispers about me being a slut. Welcome to a totally new life with the same bullshit problems.
