Chapter Fourteen

Ava's P.O.V.

I was excited when I woke up. Today was the whole week since Kyle's been gone. I had started getting bitchy and I knew it. I needed Kyle here with me, I didn't think I could make it without him. I knew that if Xaver hadn't been here with me, I probably would have burned the whole pack down by now. I had gotten a weird vibe after he left, but my mom said it was just jitters from being away from my mate. We had just met and had an amazing time. How could I not be bothered by my mate being away from me? Theo and Arthur have been held up in my dad's office for three days and while it's not unusual, they haven't left besides to use the bathroom, but all meals have been taken to them. I knew something was going on. They had called a few other packs in the handle whatever they were dealing with. Xavier knew what was happening, but he was just trying to keep me distracted.

Nevertheless, he had done an amazing job. When the border patrols called to tell us Wyatt and Kyle had crossed back over, I couldn't contain the excitement bubbling from me. As my father and mother were reaching the porch, his car pulled up. Before he could even make it fully out of the car, I shot out the door and ran to him in a fast blur. I jumped on him before he could get his barrings, causing us to fall into the seat. I kissed him deeply, inhaling his scent fully before pulling away. He stood, and I wrapped my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck. "I missed you, you're never allowed to leave again," I cooed into his neck. He gave a slight chuckle before inhaling my scent deeply. "I missed you too little moon," he said softly in my ear. Being in his or Xavers are felt like home.

He walked up the stairs and into my room. The need was insane, his touches felt like butterfly kisses landing on every inch he touched. He had stripped me before I even knew and thrust his into me with one quick motion. He took his time thrusting in and out while he whispered, "I love you my little moon" in my ear. The way he could make me melt into his touch, we fit so perfectly together. I hadn't noticed when Xaver showed up, but when I did, I saw all his glory and I knew I was about to be f****d out of my mind. It never failed when it came to these two. They knew what my body needed and wanted.

By dinner time, we had gone three times and Kyle was trying to start the fourth round when we heard a knock on the door. Before I could say anything, Xaver was already talking to whoever was on the other side, all while I was trying to convince Kyle we needed food before we continued. He signed before climbing off my bed and picking me up. He carried me to the bathroom where he showered me after he, of course, finally got his fourth round. I swear these two are determined to knock me up. As we left for dinner, I couldn't help but feel like I was being watched. Not like the feeling of someone watching from afar, no, but like the feeling that someone is walking in your shadow watching you, waiting for the right time to snatch me away. Kyle seemed to notice my feeling, and he tightened his grip around me, like he was feeling that same way I was. When we finally made it down to the dining hall, it was filled with pack members from my pack, but also Kyle's pack, along with other alphas and packs.

We walked in and began to take our seats with my family. I could shake that feeling and it was bothering me. I needed to be near those I knew would always protect me. A few minutes after we sat down, the omegas began to bring out plates of food. The smell of oven garlic spuds, steak, and butternut squash hit my nose. Kyle leaned over and asked, "Are you okay, little moon?" I just shook my head no. His eyes glazed over for a few minutes before he answered my unasked question, "I told a few warriors who are done eating to go look around," I kissed his cheek and thanked him. I looked at my dad and Arthur, clearing my throat before saying, "I would like to talk in one of your offices after we are done here, Please." They both agreed and we continued with our food.

Xaver leaned over and asked, "Do you want us to join you in the meeting?" I thought about it and replied, "Yeah, you will need to hear what's said. I will mind-link Wyatt, Theo, and Drake after dinner to meet us there." I had a feeling none of them were going to like what they were going to hear. I think Kyle sensed the same thing I did, but he's acting too calm. Xaver and I finished before the others, so I asked him to accompany me to the bathroom. On our way, he spoke up, "Little wolf, is something bothering you?" I stopped in my tracks and turned to look at him. "I feel like someone is walking in my shadow, like I am being followed," I replied. He pulled me into a tight hug, before kissing me. We finally made it to my room and I went into the bathroom. While I was finishing, my dad mind-linked me to tell me that they were all headed to Arthur's office.
