Chapter Twelve

Ava's P.O.V.

I woke up to peppered kisses on my face from Kyle. His hands roaming all over me, "Wake up beautiful, I want to spend some time with you before I leave for the pack," he whispered in my ear. I gave a small smile and slowly sat up, my body ached for our late-night activities last night. "When are you going to be back? I don't know if I can go very long without my mates nearby," I said softly. He looked at me and replied, "I am the only one going. Xaver will send his beta with me, and we will be back in one week. If everything that we laid out yesterday goes smoothly, we could be back in four days." I looked from him to Xaver and they both nodded their heads as if to tell me it's true.

I slid off my bed and walked to the closet and got my favorite drawstring bag. I put my favorite hoodie in it. I walked back to the room and handed it to Kyle. "What is this, babe?" he asked while taking it from my hand. "I wanted you to have something that smells like me, it'll feel like your gone forever," I replied. "The omegas are going to bring breakfast up, that way we can have food before Kyle has to leave, little wolf," Xaver said. I nodded, and they led me to the spot they had set up a couple of nights ago. A knock sounded at the door and Kyle went over to retrieve the food cart. He pushed it over and made a plate for me before making his own. The three of us sat eating and talking. "You know, I must admit. I have fallen in love with you two," I bluntly stated.

Kyle smiled brightly at me. I was beginning to melt every time I saw them smile. "We have fallen in love with you as well, little wolf," Xaver said sweetly. I wished we could just stay cooped up here for the rest of the day. After breakfast, I walked Kyle out to his car. I started to pout when he cupped my face and planted a kiss on my lips. "I will be back before you know it, I love you, my little moon," he said through his kisses. I giggled through his kisses. I just want to run away with him. I felt tears gather in my eyes as he climbed into his car, and they began to pull away. When the tears finally began to fall, Xaver wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me to his chest.

Kyle's P.O.V.

I sat in the car on the way to drop Kaden off. I scrolled through photos I took of my mate. I absolutely loved every bit of her. I knew it was going to be a long week. After three hours of being on the road, my phone rang, and I saw it was my gamma. I answered, and I was instantly pissed by his words, "Alpha, your ex Lana, she has told everyone she is your fated mate. The pack is in an uproar about their Luna being locked in the cells, they are demanding she be freed," he said nervously. I let out a harsh chuckle before responding,"I will be there soon. Tell the pack their true Luna, who is waiting for her pack, that she is the daughter of Alpha Kale." After a short pause, he sighed and let out a low huff, "Alpha, Lana's father, sent a letter to you. It says that if his daughter is rejected, then he will rage war." "Send them a request to test the accusations at the moon pool. Let them be embarrassed," was all I said before hanging up. A few moments after ending the call, we pulled up to Xaver's pack to drop off Kaden. I turned to him as he hopped out of the car, and said, "Okay, Kaden, we will be back in a few days to help move Dark Moon." He just nodded and we proceeded to our pack.

A few hours later, we rolled up to my pack house where my gamma was waiting for me. "Alpha, Lana and her parents are waiting in your office, her father is beyond pissed that we accused Lana of lying about the mate bond," he said as we walked through the front door. I stormed to my office and slammed the door open. Lana was sitting on a chair by my desk while her father was sitting across from my chair, and her mother was trying to fix Lana's appearance. "Alpha Kyle, I demand to know why you do not believe Lana,"he boomed. I let out my aura and turned to Lana,"You claim I am your mate, but Lana. I have a mate. I was with her, making arrangements to move my pack closer to her because she is the daughter of our Alpha king. Do you really think I would choose you over her? News flash Lana, you were nothing but a means to release stress, nothing more. You claim we are fated mates, then let's test your claims as the moon pool." I boomed back. Her body began to shake with fear, because she knew that falsely claiming someone else's mate was punishable by stripping one's wolf and casting them out as rouges, and the trial would be held by the king and his family, my mate's family.
