I woke at 5am and have been packing up my stuff. There isn’t that much to be honest. I only have one suitcase and a large back pack. I dress in my black jogging bottoms and cropped white T-shirt. It says ‘slay’ across the front in big black letters. It is a little oversized and sits just off the one shoulder. I then start on my makeup, black eyeliner is my usual go to. My hair is looking fine today so I brush it out and leave it be.
I nudge Tristan around 8am and tell him to get ready.
He puts his clothes back on and then helps me carry my suitcase downstairs.
My parents are sat at the breakfast table with Luke, they don’t look impressed with Tristan being here. I leave my bags in the living area and drag Tristan outside.
He pulls me into his arms and kisses me. Then steps back and I raise my eyebrow.
Any second now-
“I think we should break up,” he says and looks at me like a wounded puppy.
“Okay.” I smile before turning back toward the house. I step inside and close the door.
I knew his plan all along, one last hoorah before breaking up with me.
I enter the kitchen and look at them all. “I am ready to go.”
My mum stands and pulls me into a hug. She strokes a hand down my hair. “My baby, I am going to miss you.” She holds me at arms length, “just be happy okay?”
I nod and swallow down the emotion threatening to surface. “I love you mum.”
My dad pulls me into a quick hug and kisses the side of my head. “Here,” he hands me an envelope of money.
I shake my head and try to refuse but he holds it firmly in my hand. “Promise me you will never look back. You have to move forward.”
“I promise,” I slide the envelope of money into my bag. “I love you dad.”
“We love you too,” my mum says as she brushes a hand against my arm.
She takes a deep breath and gestures for me to go. She turns to Luke, “go. Take her, please”.
Luke nods before gesturing for me to go ahead. He follows along with my suitcase in tow.

The airport is surprisingly quiet today. After checking in my suitcase and going through security, Luke suggested I browse the shops a little. I have picked up some new headphones and a magazine to look at on the plane.
I find a little sweet shop and buy myself some treats.
“Hi there,” a guy says. I glance to the side and see he is standing beside me. He is tall, sandy brown hair. He is cute. He starts looking at the candy on the shelf.
“Hi,” I say back.
“Which flavour?” He turns to me with two packs of chewy sweets. “Cherry or raspberry?”
“Cherry,” I point to the red pack.
“Good choice,” he puts the raspberry back. “I’m Oscar.” He holds out his hand toward me.
I shake it with a smile, “Radleigh.”
He smirks at me, “that’s a pretty name.”
“Thanks,” I grab a pack of skittles before turning away.
“Wait, can I get your number?” He asks me.
I glance at him, “no. But you can have my social media name?”
He nods before we exchange details.
“Safe flight Radleigh, it was nice meeting you.” He heads toward the counter.
I choose some more bits and pieces before going to the counter myself. After paying I go and look for Luke. I find him in a seating area, a burger, fries and drink before him. There is another bag sat on the table.
“I got you some food too,” he gestures to it.
I sit and open the bag before eating. “Thanks.”
“Listen, I’m sorry to drop it on you. But once we get home i need you to meet with the seamstress. You will need your uniform for school tomorrow.” He bites into his burger.
“Uniform? What kind of fancy ass school is it?” I take a bite of my fries.
He smirks at me, “it’s not that fancy. But yes they require you to wear a uniform.”
I allow my face to speak for me as I continue eating my food.
“There are some other things you should know too,” Luke tells me and wipes his hands on a napkin. “I-“
An announcement calls out for our flight and Luke sighs. “Can you eat that as we walk?”
I nod and pick up the bag, taking a bite of the burger as we go.
