The Lawyer

Lilly was finishing packing when she heard her mom come down the hall. "Honey. Are you done packing yet? You need to be on the road soon, in order to make it to Maryland by lunchtime." Lilly heard her mother Amanda say. Lilly sighed with content and answered her mom, "Yes Mom, I justed finished. All I need to do is put this bag into the car." Lilly turned to her mom and saw that she was watching her with sad eyes. Of course she knew why she was looking sad, I was the last of her children to move from home. My older siblings were twins Jason and Mark. They were 29 years old and each had their own places. Jason was newly married and expecting his first child. Mark lived with his two boys, Alec and Luca. There mom passed away a few years ago and so Mark was raising them on his own. I was the baby of the family, which I found to be exhausting at times. At 23 years old, I have just graduated college and ready to begin my new career. I was able to obtain my degree in Early Childhood Education and was finally able to decide where I wanted to work. Which is when I seen the ad for a nanny to a little girl, I jumped on it. I was originally going to work in a school but something in me pulled me another direction. I said goodbye to my mom and walked to my car. It was filled to the brim with my things and all ready for the drive ahead. I turned around and said goodbye to my mom. She hugged me tight and reluctantly let me go. Then I got into my car and pulled out my gps. I knew it would take only a few hours to get to Ocean City Maryland. I have lived in Pennsylvania my whole life and was excited to start my new journey. Explore a different state and be able to be near the beach. With a final look around and at my mom, I pulled off and onto the start of the next chapter in my life.
