I stood there at the Shore’s house. I reluctantly knocked on the door. In no time the door flew open. “Oh my goddess it’s little Joshy!” Daisy’s mother stood there and squealed. “Good morning Mrs. Shore.” I said and she looked at me oddly. “Aunt Maddie or Madison, don’t you remember? You look so much like your father.” She inspected my face and I sighed. “Are you going to let him in or make him stand there?” I looked at Daisy. She stood not far behind her mom. “Oh my goddess!! Come in come in!” She stepped aside and I walked in. “Are you hungry Joshy? I have breakfast just about out and the boys should be down any minute.” Aunt Maddie said. “I just ate.” I said and Aunt Maddie grabbed my hand. “Nonsense! You can have something small then.” Aunt Maddie pulled me to their dining room. She put me in a chair and ran off. Daisy came in laughing and sat next to me. “You’re early by the way.” Daisy said looking at her watch. “Yeah my mom woke me up early.” I replied. “Did you get my text.” I said suddenly uncomfortable. “You know I did.” Daisy giggled. “Who’s that.” I heard behind me and then Liam appeared on the other side of the table. “Oh! Sorry Josh, didn’t realize you would be here this early.” Liam sat down and leaned back. Liam was tall and had the build of a alpha. He had wavy dirty blond hair and dark blue eyes. He always looked like he was mad. “I thought you were leaving!” Daisy snapped. “Why so you can be alone with your boyfriend.” Liam laughed. “He’s not my boyfriend!” Daisy snapped. “Quit fighting!” I heard Aunt Madison come in from the kitchen. She put a plate full of bacon in front of us. Liam reached over and grabbed a hand full. Aunt Madison slapped his hand. “Mom!” He said dropping it onto his plate. “Where’s your brother?” Aunt Madison asked Liam. “I’m not his keeper. Why didn’t Daisy get him?” Liam talked with his mouth full. “Why is it my job!?” Daisy asked. “Someone get him!” Aunt Madison said going back into the kitchen. “Because you’re the only one around here not doing anything.” Liam said with a smile as soon as Aunt Madison was out of ear shot. Daisy stood up. “I’ll get him.” I said ready to be away from this family argument. I jumped up and ran up stairs still hearing arguing. I approached a door that said Riley and opened it. A small toddler jumped when he saw me. “Hi buddy!” I said as I picked him up. I slowly carried him down the stairs. “Josh! Why does Josh have Riley?” Aunt Madison said and the table fell quiet. “Look your boyfriend’s good with kids.” Liam laughed. “Quit teasing Liam! Josh is training with your father today.” Aunt Madison said as she took Riley from me. “And he’s early!” I felt someone slap my back. “Already a good start Josh!” Uncle Dec bellowed out as he sat down. “Sit.” He motioned to the chair. I sat down and everyone started eating. “Eat Josh.” Aunt Madison said. “Thank you, I’m not hungry.” I said. “Eat something or she’ll pester you until you do.” Uncle Dec said. I grabbed a piece of bacon and started slowly eating it. “So are you excited Josh? Today is your first day!” Aunt Madison asked. “Yes.” I said and they all kinda stared at me. “You know you-.” Uncle Dec started. “Look just like my father? Yes I know, everyone keeps telling me that.” I cut him off and he looked at Madison. I’ve heard my entire life. The only difference between us was my hair was closer to being black and my eyes were more green then hazel. That I clearly got from my mother. “Well it’s true! You’re dad was so funny and sweet when he was your age.” Aunt Madison said. “Cool.” I said and Daisy nudged me. “Ow.” I looked at her. “Well I’m going to go pack, this was awkward. Thanks Josh.” Liam said getting up and strolling away. “What are we doing today?” I asked. “We’re mostly going to start out being with your uncle James. Probably your dad too. I believe Henry is in training aswell, so we’ll see him.” Uncle Dec said. “Can I come too!?” Daisy said in a much more enthusiastic tone. “Of course princess!” Uncle Dec smiled. “Declan!” Aunt Madison said. “What?” Uncle Dec said without really paying attention. “Do you think that’s wise with Henry there?” Aunt Madison said subtly. “Mom, Josh will be there.” Daisy said. “What’s wrong with you being around Henry?” I asked. “Nothing.” Daisy said standing up. “I’m going to go get ready to go.” She started walking and once we heard a door shut, uncle Dec put a hand on my shoulder. “Make sure her and Henry are never alone.” Uncle Dec whispered. “I don’t understand.” I said and uncle Dec looked at Aunt Madison. “Oh he just annoys her about going out with him and such. To the point she gets angry and he’s angry. He’s gotten worse the closer it gets to her birthday.” Aunt Madison said. “So he harasses her?” I said confused. “He swears he just wants to be friends now. She won’t give his friendship the time of day.” Aunt Madison said. We heard the door and both Daisy’s parents hushed up. She walked in the room as they acted casually. “Come on Josh! We can wait in Daddy’s office.” Daisy said grabbing my hand. “Sure.” I said letting her take my hand and drag me out of the house. She continued holding my hand as we got closer to the pack house. “Why are you walking so slow?” Daisy complained. “I’m waiting for you to give me my hand back.” I complained back. “What are you afraid I have cooties!?” Daisy stopped looking at me. “I’m not afraid of your cooties! I just thought you didn’t want to touch my clammy hands?” I said as she turned and started dragging me again. “I never said that.” She said getting to the pack house doors. “What if your boyfriend Henry sees you holding my hand?” I laughed. “Stop!” Daisy stopped at the doors. “Don’t ever call him my boyfriend again. Maybe if he sees me holding your hand, he’ll stop asking me to be his girlfriend.” She opened the door and started again. We walked past a bunch of people straight to uncle Dec’s office. Once we got into his office, she dropped my hand. She quickly shut the door and I walked over sitting down. I heard her sigh and she turned around. “You ok?” I asked and she sat in the chair next to mine. “I was sure we would run into him.” Daisy said. “If that’s the case, then why did you want to come?” I asked. “Because hanging out with you and daddy would be more fun then taking care of a almost three year old.” Daisy said inspecting her nails. “You would rather put up with Henry’s harassment?” I asked and she looked at me quickly. “Shhhhh! Yes! He’s convinced that if I meet my mate and reject them, that he’s my second chance. I have no idea why he feels that way.” She went back to looking at her nails. “Maybe it will make the day more interesting to watch you guys fight.” I chuckled. “You’re not going to stick up for me!?” Daisy said giving me her puppy dog eyes. “I can’t tell if you’re joking or not.” I said with a almost laugh. “Does that work on most guys?” I dug out my phone to do something to distract me. “Mostly.” Daisy said seemingly annoyed.
