Chapter 37 - Just a friend.

We watched the training session with the person under Jordan, Clarissa. She was tiny but fierce and fast. I watched the fighting formation and pulled out my phone to take a video. I saw a text from Daisy and didn’t bother reading it. I started recording instead. I heard Barion sigh.
“Liam says check your phone.” Barion said slightly annoyed.
“Shhh I’m recording to show Henry.” I said.
“He’s bugging me because she’s bugging him.” I put my phone down and opened the messages.
“How’s your day?” Daisy’s message read.
“She’s very clingy.” Barion said and Jordan started laughing.
“She got mad when I said that once.” I said messaging her back. “Still at eclipse, getting some video for your dad and Henry.” I typed out and hit send.
“Did you really call her clingy?” Barion asked.
“I did, I apologized after.” I said watching the troops.
“You can’t tell a girl that Josh!” Jordan laughed.
“I found that out.” I said watching my phone as a new message popped up. I opened it and began to read.
“Joshy I miss you!” It read and I smiled.
“I miss you too.” I typed out and sent it. I put my phone away and they stared at me.
“What?” I asked.
“Smiling at your phone like a dork.” Barion said.
“I’m guessing the Silvermoon move is going well.” Jordan said.
“It wasn’t at first. Josh wasn’t taking it well. Lydia isn’t doing that great in school.” Barion said.
“ I heard her and Andy marked finally.” Jordan said.
“Yes, they can hardly keep off each other.” I said folding my arms and watching the troops finish up training. Clarissa dismissed them then she turned and started over towards us.
“Josh! How are you?“ she said as she ran up and kissed Jordan.
“Hi Clarissa, I’m good.” I said.
“Josh has a girlfriend.” Barion said.
“What’s wrong with you guys! She’s not my girlfriend!” I said.
“He says that but he’s been smiling at his phone and stuff.” Jordan said.
“Isn’t that cute!!!!” Clarissa squeezed Jordan’s arm.
“Dear, dear! My arm!” Jordan pushed on her.
“She’s my friend. We aren’t mate bonded” I said and Barion snickered.
“Don’t let Liam hear you say that. It’s Liam’s sister.” He said and both Jordon and Clarissa made a grimacing face.
“He’s great on the field, but he’s scary.” Clarissa said.
“He’s a nice guy really.” Jordan said.
“Can we not talk about this? Can we do something else?” I asked and Jordan smiled.
“Sure thing Josh. Let’s move on.” Jordan looked at Clarissa and she released his arm. She turned to Barion and they started talking. We walked back to the pack house. Once inside I spotted Alpha Lewis talking to someone. He looked over and his expression turned disapproving.
“Jordan.” He said and Jordan stopped next to me.
“Al! We were heading back to my office.” Jordan said putting his hand on me.
“Hannah assured me Barion would be here.” He said and I turned around. Barion and Clarissa had disappeared.
“Clarissa had meant to show him some of the newer equipment that came in. They may have went to look at it real quick.” Jordan said.
“Then Josh should’ve accompanied them.” Alpha Lewis said.
“Josh is under my apprenticeship. Not Barion’s.” Jordan said as I heard a door shut. There he was. His dark auburn hair cut like a old boy band. He was dressed in a nice shirt and slacks. His face curled into a evil smile when he saw me. I instantly glazed over and called Barion.
“You said to call you if Finn arrived. Here he is.” I said and looked up.
“It’s my old pal Joshua. How are you?” Finn asked.
“Finn.” I said and nodded.
“Finn, let’s go.” Alpha Lewis said as he turned and headed towards his office.
“We should catch up Josh.” Finn said right as Barion came in.
“Josh has a busy schedule and isn’t here very long.” Jordan said with his voice dripping with animosity.
“Go to your father.” Barion said in a assertive tone.
“Come on Bari! We’re friends when Josh isn’t around.” Finn said.
“I tolerate you more when Josh isn’t around.” Barion said.
“Come on kids.” Jordan said pushing me along. We walked to the office and went in.
“Let’s make this quick. He’ll find a way to come in here and bug us.” Barion said.
“Agreed. In fact, I’ll call the car now. We’ll continue tomorrow.” Jordan said and I sighed.
“I don’t want to work my training around Finn’s schedule or when Finn is here!” I said and crossed my arms.
“It’s fine Josh.” Barion said.
“It’s not fine. We have only been here a few hours!” I said getting upset. I did the only think I could think of and pulled out my phone. I hit the call button.
“Josh! Are you done?” I heard Daisy’s voice and sighed relief.
“We’re ending early because of Finn.” I said and she sighed.
“I’m sorry Joshy! Are you ok?” She said and the sound of concern in her voice made everything better.
“I’m fine. I just wanted to hear your voice.” I said and heard a ‘awww’ behind me.
“Joshhhhh! I miss you!” She said and Barion put his hand on me.
“I miss you. The car is here. I’ll call you later ok?” I said and she sighed.
“Ok! But don’t wait too long.” She said.
“Ok, I promise.” I said taking the phone down and hanging up.
“She’s just your friend huh?” Jordan snickered.
