Chapter 40. - Fessing up.

“Ok, what happened?” Barion asked and I sat there silently. “Josh, this is important.” He said and I sighed.

“I just don’t want to talk about it.” I said crossing my arms. Barion pulled out his phone and started furiously texting. He put his phone down and stared at me. We pulled up to the pack house and as I got out. I went straight to my room and as I laid down my phone started to ring. I assumed right away it was my mom and I answered it.

“Hello.” I said in a angry tone.

“Josh?” I heard Daisy and sat up.

“Daisy? You’re up early.” I said feeling almost relieved hearing her voice.

“Liam just called me and said I needed to call you.” She said and I instantly felt irritated.

“I think I know why. Finn gave me a hard time today and I just want to come home.” I said.

“What happened?” Daisy asked and I explained to her the entire situation. “Josh I think you do need to tell at least Barion what’s going on. He has to explain to Lewis.” She said and I sighed.

“Ok, I’ll go tell him.” I said and there was silence for a moment. “I thought you would encourage me to come home.” I laughed.

“I do miss you, but I also know from my dads talk lately, this is important.” She said in a almost sad tone.

“I miss you.” I said and I heard her giggle.

“Ok Josh, I’m going to go back to sleep. Call me later.” She said sweetly.

“I promise I will.” I said. We said our good byes and I came out of my room. I walked down the stairs and to dad’s old office. I open the door and Barion looked up at me and smiled.

“I knew if anyone could convince you, it was her.” He said with a snicker

“Yes, she convinced me.” I came and sat down.

“So?” Barion said looking at me.

“I think I should start with what happened before we left eclipse.” I said and Barion looked shocked.

“Really!?” He said shocked. I nodded and started explaining. How I tried to walk away before and the things he said about mom and Lydia. I could take the things he said about me, but not them. Then I went on to tell him about today and how he brought them up, threatened Silvermoon, and then challenged me. Barion was very angry by the time I was done.

“Why didn’t you bring this to anyones attention earlier?” He said flatly.

“Because when I told Alpha Lewis he didn’t believe me.” I said and Barion picked up the office phone and started to dial. He sat there for a moment and then his voice boomed when he did talk.

“We need a meeting NOW.” Barion said and waited a moment looking extremely p*ssed off. “No NOW.” He said and hung up. He picked up the phone again and dialed. “Jensen, get my father. Have him call me immediately. Yes thank you.” He hung up and looked at me. “I wish you had told me earlier.” He shook his head.

“Should I still plan on going home?” I asked.

“We’ll see.” He said and I got up. “Where are you going? We’re about to have a meeting.” He said and I shook my head.

“You can call me if you need me to reiterate what happened again. I would rather not hear Alpha Lewis again today.” I said and he nodded.

“I can guarantee I’m going to call you in at some point today.” Barion said and the phone rang. He picked it up. “Dad? Yes. Josh just told me everything that happened with Finn. Yes, everything.” I heard as I walked out the door and closed it. I didn’t get but to the bottom of the stairs before Barion opened the office door.

“Josh.” Barion motioned me back. I came back in and Barion motioned me to the other side of the desk. I saw dad on the screen disheveled and obviously just woken not long ago.

“There you are son.” He gave me a smile.

“Hey dad.” I said.

“Jensen says you want to come home and then Barion says you told him what happened.” My dad sighed. “Is what he said true?” He asked.

“That I told him? Yes.” I said and he shook his head.

“No, that you lost your temper because of what he said.” My dad said.

“He called mom a wh*re. Said Liddie was probably going to be just like her.” I said and my dad shook his head.

“He threaten Silvermoon today.” Barion said.

“He’s just a dumb kid. He would be stupid to try to take on a pack that wields arcane magic.” My dad laughed and then he was suddenly distracted. “Speak of the devil. Alder is calling.” He said reaching over and ending the video.

“Ok, now I’m going to go lay down and take a nap.” I said standing up.

“Alright. Now that dad has heard you confirm it. I doubt we will need you again. Jordan heard everything today. He can back up your side.” Barion said and he pat my back. I walked out and up the stairs. Izzy and Liam were talking at the top of the stairs.

“There he is!” Izzy yelled and I stopped.

“Hey kid!” Liam said.

“What?” I asked.

“This afternoon, we’re going birthday shopping for Daisy. Be ready at one.” Liam said walking past me and down the stairs.

“Alright.” I said and I walked to Izzy. “What does Daisy want?” I asked her.

“She’s going to love anything you pick. Liam on the other hand, she won’t like it until she hears you helped him.” She smiled.
