I knocked on Andy’s door. His mom opened the door and smiled. “Hello Mrs. Langoria!” Daisy said in her cheery voice. “Hi Aunt Shay.” I said reaching over and taking Daisy’s hand. “Hello kids! I’m getting ready for your guys get together. I’m making snacks!” Shay said leaving the door open. We walked in and closed it. “Here, take these up with you. They’re up there already with Izzy.” Aunt Shay handed me a tray with cracker and what looked like a meat paste. I could smell the weird aroma coming off it. “Thank you!” I said and smiled as we departed to the stairs. We got to Andy’s door and Daisy opened it. “You guys made up!” Izzy yelled. “Shhh! What’s wrong with you!?” I said walking in and handing the tray to Andy. “What the hell is this!?” Andy said smelling it. “Why did you bring me tainted meat?” Andy looked at me confused. “Snacks from your mom.” I said pulling Daisy with me to sit in some chairs his mom no doubt set up. “It smells weird.” My sister said poking it. “What’s the plan for tonight?” Daisy asked. “We’re supposed to go watch a movie down stairs at some point.” Andy said. “Oh no! I’m the fifth wheel! Y’all better not start making out and leaving me alone!” Izzy said and Lydia looked grossed out. “Gross!” Lydia said looking at me. “I thought you guys were just friends!” She said. “Josh is my friend.” Daisy said smiling. “Friends don’t make out.” Lydia said watching us. “No one is making out, ok?” I said. “Is Henry still coming?” Andy asked Izzy. “I’m not sure, but if he knew Daisy was here.” She said looking at Daisy. “Don’t tell him. I want to have a good time tonight.” Daisy looked at me. “So.” Lydia said smiling almost a smirk. “What?” I asked. “Are you guys mate bonding?” Lydia pointed at our hands. Izzy and Andy both stared at us. “We’re friends.” I said and they all started to laugh. The door opened and we all watched as Henry walked in. “Bro I was wondering when you would show.” Izzy said. “I wanted to wish my cousin a happy birthday.” Henry smiled walking over and smacking Andy on the shoulder. “Thanks. I wasn’t sure if you would want to hang out with us. We’re just watching a movie and my mom is making dinner.” Andy said and grimaced. “Is that what she was doing? She was very concentrated when your dad let me in” Henry watched me and Daisy, clearly focused on our hands. “Don’t worry Henry, they’re friends.” Izzy said and Henry nodded. “Of course, aren’t we all?” Henry smiled and walked over sitting next to Daisy. “What movie are we supposed to watch?” I asked. “I don’t know. I know this is a coming of age thing, turning eighteen and all. I didn’t want like a party, just to spend it with Liddie mostly.” Andy said and they smiled at each other. “Do you want us all to go?” Izzy asked. “No, my mom made a cake. She’s really excited. I don’t want to disappoint her.” Andy said. “Well, let’s go down and see how far she is. Maybe after everything, we can all sneak out.” Henry said looking at Daisy and smiling. “She’s expecting Josh to stay over.” Andy said standing up. “Today? Why?” I asked standing up and helping Daisy stand. “Because you’re my best friend? I don’t know, she mentioned it a couple of times. I think she’s treating this like a kids sleep over. It wouldn’t surprise me if she thinks Henry is going to stay too.” Andy said as we all started walking out. We got to the bottom of the stairs and saw both Uncle Arnold and Aunt Shay in the kitchen. Aunt Shay looked at us. “There you all are! Dinner is ready!” Aunt Shay seemed excited. We walked to the dining room and to my surprise the table spread looked decent. Daisy sat down and Henry quickly sat next to her. I watched him for a moment and then went to the other side of the table. Everyone sat down and uncle Arnold started passing around food. Everyone started getting stuff. I watched as Henry leaned over whispering in Daisy’s ear. She gave him a weak smile and then turned away. “Your glaring.” I heard Izzy whisper and looked at her. “Am I?” I said to her and then I turned back taking the food and dishing up some. “So Josh!” Uncle Arnold said. “Yes?” I replied. “Are you ready to go to Eclipse in a couple days? How long will you be gone?” He asked. “Yeah, I can’t wait to see Jordan again get some training from him. It will be beneficial to Silvermoon to learn how a bigger pack does things.” I looked at Henry who nodded and smiled. “Oh, a week. I’ll be gone a week.” I said and looked at Uncle Arnold. “I can’t wait to see Bari and Liam! Gonna be like old times!” Izzy said nudging me. “Yeah I’ve missed having Bari around.” Lydia said as we all started to eat. “This is pretty good!” Andy said surprised. Aunt Shay ran over and hugged him. “She worked so hard to make this wonderful dinner for you.” Uncle Arnold smiled. It was quiet as we all ate and after we were done, Aunt Shay brought in a mangled looking cake. We all sang and watched the pile of cake as the icing melted down the sides. Andy blew out the candles and Uncle Arnold served pieces. The cake was actually decent. After we were done I got up and started clearing plates. “You don’t have to do that.” Shay slapped my hands. “Ow! I’m just trying to help.” I said with a laugh. “Nonsense! It’s a party!” She ushered me out and into the living room where everyone was talking. Daisy walked up and grabbed my arm. “I want to go, I don’t want to stay.” She said in almost a whisper and I nodded. I looked at Andy who looked annoyed that everyone was around talking. He looked at me and I motion towards the door. We slowly made our way to the door and slowly out. “Thank the goddess.” Daisy said as we walked out and towards the pack house.
