All of a sudden, her eye sighted something strange, she quickly his hand to notice the cut he had and she remembered a similar cut in the past “I am so sorry, it was a mistake, I should not have grabbed your hands like that,” she said as she knew they didn't have a cordial relationship for her to behave in that manner He was shocked as well when she grabbed his hand but then he just had to let go since she was concerned about his injury. So they left the restaurant and went home to resume work the next day. Sam was walking on eggshells as she resumed work because she knew she was likely to be the topic for the gist of the week and she silently prayed that a scandal should happen so the news of her strange behavior would be diverted She went to her office desk and tried every means to avoid contact with Ken like the plague he wouldn't stop whispering her name but she pretended not to hear him by quickly using an earpiece like she was receiving a call, he had to throw a paper at her to gain her attention but she still pretends not to see him Suddenly she felt a warmth hand around her neck, someone had hugged her from the back and she jumped out of her chair in fear as a shock from the unexpected hug She turned to check who the person might be It was her best friend smiling with deceit as usual but looking innocent She was so irritated by her presence but she couldn't show so as not to look awkward Jane continued to hug her and wouldn't let her be despite feeling that Sam was smiling faintly and trying to remove her hand from her neck “Samantha, you know I'm your only friend, you can let anything come between us, I have been with you from college and you know we can't do without each other, “ Jane said Sam was wondering what brought about her words but at the same time she was not surprised because Jane had a different kind of mischief up in her sleeve “ I texted you yesterday but your reply was cold, I called and you didn't return the calls, you can't have any friend aside from me because I don't have any other best friend aside from you,” she said with a pitiful face Sam already knew where Jane's conversation was leading. Jane has always been like that from college, she doesn't want to see any other person with Sam, and her character can be described as obsessed. She has always stayed glued to Sam since when she was bullied in class and she stood up for her because everyone knows Sam to be fragile, innocent, and naive Jane has since then been her bodyguard till now, and she also doesn't feel the need to have any friends since they are used to each other and comfortable with each other “ I had in mind to return your calls but on getting home, I got carried away with my research on the system, I'm sorry my dear friend “ Sam replied although she lied, she just never wanted any further questions from her as she was irritated, she just wanted her to leave her sight but she knew it not possible at the moment. “Anyone could have fallen for this trick, you won't have thought the only person you trusted and have spent most of your life with is not actually who you think she is because of her manipulative way of assurance with her pity-looking face,” Sam thought to herself While placing her hands on her best friend's own, Sam reminded her to resume back to her space as they were in an office environment and she also needed to submit some documents. As she arranged the document and set to submit, she noticed Ken was coming after her and she tried as much as possible to walk fast so he wouldn't catch up with her “Hey, hey, Sam, wait for me, we need to talk” she called out to her softly to avoid attention She was focused on getting away with him so she didn't notice the lady pushing a pack of boxes filled with papers and she was about to stumble on it when someone quickly drags to prevent a minor incident from happening at that moment She had a peep of the hand before turning to see who it was, then she noticed the scar looked exactly like the one she had in the past and also the scenario of bumping into the lady but at the time of the past, she fell and hurt her feet. “ Some of the incidents in the past can be prevented now?” she thought to herself “I noticed you are mostly lost in thought, you need to be careful” Alex warned although he was trying to tell her to be safe he didn't want an awkward situation and gossip at the moment She nodded and proceeded with her movement and by that time, Ken had turned back angrily Not too long ago, she stumbled in the printing room while trying to avoid a spill and ended up hurting the same spot as it was in the past. Then it occurred to her that there are two sides to it. “What will happen will happen, it just had to happen to someone else,” She said concerning the injury on Alex's hand “Event will eventually occur again so it best I get prepared ahead as I already knew how it will all unfold, “ she said with a sense of satisfaction What will happen will happen, it just had to happen to someone else At that moment, a steely determination formed within Sam. She would not waste this chance. She would change her fate and make sure those who had wronged her paid for their sins. She won't get intimidated by anyone. She is not the naive, shy, intimidating Sam they all knew. She won't hold back anyone and most especially makes sure her lazy, foolish husband gets married to her cunning best friend
