Sam's eyes fluttered open, and she found herself in a familiar yet strange environment. She was sitting at her office desk, surrounded by the hustle and bustle of this familiar strange workplace. But something was off, she peep through the door to try to understand what might be going on and also to know the environment she might possibly be.

“This isn't some kind of fairy tale prank or story, why am I sleeping in front of the computer at my workplace “ she thought even though she seems frightened with this new occurrence

She is known to be dedicated to her work and very hardworking; so it impossible to find slacking off at the workplace not to talk of sleeping during work hour.

She is not supposed to be here, she was fighting with the people who betrayed her, the people whom she trusted with her whole life, the only important people she had in her life after the death of her parents, they eventually became the death of herShe was supposed to be rushed to the hospital or getting buried but how come she found herself at the office.

She decided to check what she was typing on a computer maybe she would find a reasonable explanation but she found something odd instead

The date on her computer was years earlier, before her marriage to Ken. She blick and scratch her eyes as if something had enter into the eyes, to ensure her eyes is not deceiving her with the date she is seeing on her computer.

A ticket on her desk caught her eye – a "ticket of second chance." A note attached to it read: "You have been given a rare opportunity to relive your life and change your fate. Use it wisely."

She immediately remembered it was the same thing the cab driver who drove her from the hospital gave to her, how come it was on her table? She remembered he was telling her to live a happy life despite knowing she hadn't fully recovered and was coming from the hospital or was he aware of what she met at home after leaving the hospital

She got more confused than ever before.

Sam's mind reeled as she processed the impossible. She had died, but somehow, she had been given a second chance. The memories of her past life came flooding back, including the painful betrayal by Ken and Jane and how she was always intimidated in the office and at home

She was trying to process everything happening around her, she quickly went to check the mirror at the office to confirm if she was dead or alive, and while running she fell to the ground and behaved abnormally which caught the attention of her co-workers; surprisingly, Ken was rushing to get hold of her as she fell the second time, fear gripped her immediately she sighted him, she was trying to get rid of his hand from her body when her best friend appeared with the same smile she last remembered, out of fear, she ran out of the office.

She noticed someone was after her then she stopped running to relax close to a fountain.

He had a glance of the prominent feature of the man running after her, he was tall and handsome with dark shinning hair.

“Why are you acting strange, what’s wrong with you? Do you need to see the doctor? Alex asked

While panting and trying to catch her breath; “wh…..y, why are you running after me, sir?

Alex stretched out his hand to her displaying her shoe for her to see then she immediately noticed she left them behind.

Then she became conscious of her surroundings and the building around her, this shouldn’t be here, she said to herself,

“Why is everything looking familiar but strange”, “Was I not dead just now?”

“Are you talking to me?” he asked

She nodded “No sir”. At this point, she was calm although restless

She looked up and noticed the advert on the billboard, “who still uses this kind of design in 2024, this is outdated” Sam said. “ even the song has been used in the past”

“2024? Outdated? This is the latest music everyone uses to get attention and sales in their business, everyone used this sound in 2014, what are you saying or you have ahead of us?” Alex asked surprised and chuckles.

“20…. What? 2014? What do you mean by 2014? You must be mistaken, How is this possible?, how can it be 2014? Can I check your phone, please? ( she saw it was the same year as he had mentioned ) oh, I must be out of my mind, I have been stressed out recently, I have been working and watching some series, so I think that was why I acted surprised about what you said. that was a mistake” She lied so he wouldn't start acting suspicious of her since the event from the beginning of the day had been awkward.

Mr Alex offered to take her house since she looked so confused and restless. He dropped her in front of her house and she continued to look at her surroundings strangely before tip-toeing into her apartment with a sense of fear.

She got into her house and everywhere was looking scattered and unkempt.

She quickly went to check the calendar “ August 2014? Am I re-living my life again?, this was before I got married to Ken, is this a dream? Am I dreaming? Even if I was, which one is real? 2014 or 2024? Can someone pinch me before I go mad?

“Was it dying at the hands of my husband and my best friend in 2024 or 2014 when I was 32? No, 2023 wasn’t a dream, I remember who Mr Alex was” Then she had a flashback of how he became the succession of XY and Son company in 2024

While trying to process what was happening with tears in her eyes and to understand what was going on with her, she heard a knock at the door.
